Billy Powell is smiling down on that Piano playing.
The excellence of this cover makes me realize once again the phenomenal excellence of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Unbelievable job!
One hand piano solo. That's the way we were taught in stage band!!!
That piano player has some Billy Powell spirit in him
That kid on the piano is a true tribute to Billy Powell, one of the best Rock pianist!
The piano solo in this song is probably the coolest piano solo ever in a rock song.
@michaelgates5323 Do you too get the feeling that LLB may play a version of "Freebird" one day ?
@@DanC-go9lc I went to Jacksonville University in the early 70s. That’s when Lynyrd Skynyrd was really cranking. I think LLB should do free Bird.
@@michaelgates5323 Yes that would be awesome if it happens - and you know LLB would have a blast doing it ! Was blessed to see Lynyrd Skynyrd play it live 2 times before the heartbreaking plane crash in 1977.
P.S. That must have been awesome then - seeing them that early and on their home turf so to speak. I saw them in '75 and '76.
What a piano solo.
You truly elevate the people to whom you pay tribute, in many cases the originals are improved upon. Never thought it was possible on some of these songs but, wow, what a band you folks have put together!
When that 2nd guitar falls in followed by those horns I'm pretty much transported to Muscle Shoals...
The Real Music Observer having recently visited Muscle Shoals we can attest to how special a place it is and that makes this compliment even more meaningful! •MV
@@LexingtonLabBand The documentary 'Muscle Shoals' blew my mind! altho it shouldn't have. I highly recommend it! I was surprised by the magnitude and diversity of music those 2 studios and MSRS ('The Swampers') had worked on, but by the same token, small town musicians have been surprising me my whole life.
Are you freakin kidding me??!! I couldn’t wait for the piano solo and it was spot on. Even the hand claps were perfect.
Austin said that it was the most difficult arrangement to learn.
Greaaaaaattttt !!!
Give this band a billion subscribers!
DAMN!!! Good job!!! One of the best southern boogie songs ever!!!!!!!!!!!
J.J. Cale is sorely missed, but he left us with some shiny gems, didn't he? RIP J.J. Way to go LLB.!
Yes, and VERY sorely missed. For me personally, there was no greater listening music when driving across the country than Mr. J. J. Cale's.
That this only has 650 views is criminal! A good social media person needs hired asap!!!
Incredible performance! Music is right on. And ya’ll from here in the 859 ✅
Thanks for keeping the music real and alive
Why can’t I like this more than once? ❤️👍
I never saw Skynyrd in concert, and really never watched any videos of them, but I've heard their songs a billion times on the radio. And right up until I saw this cover, I never thought about or appreciated just how many moving parts there are to this song. So many instruments and musicians involved. And you guys nailed every bit of it, singing and all. Absolutely masterful.
I did see them in concert and these guys are awesome.
This band ALWAYS sweats the details, and I appreciate that so much! Aside from Mr. Treadway's fantastic vocals, and the amazingly accurate musicianship from every player involved, it still wouldn't be the same without the claps! (same with the Boston set, which was amazing too!). Thanks for what you do, as always!
My favorite part of the song is when the horn section is clapping, that’s classic.
I'm absolutely "wearing out" Austin's piano solo!! 👏👏👏👏
Damn, im really addicted to these covers, they really fun to watch, hope yall keep the great work!
I listen to y’all for hours. My iPad gets smokin Hott!
It's a pleasure to listen to all you guys do, you get all the details and nuance in everything you play and that's huge .........
Hell, I may get this to a million views by myself!! Everyday I have to see this one!!!!
Ronnie shaved his head! lol....seriously, you guys do justice to EVERYTHING you touch! Keep up the good work!
This is what you called a perfect cover
I cannot say enough, you guys are just at the top! Vitucci kicks it on the ivories and the brass is right behind him! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
I have lamented the lack of real musical talent over, really the last few decades for the most part. Now I know why there’s such a vast wasteland of good music - the Lexington Lab Band has sucked up every bit of the actual talent that exists into this one group of extraordinarily gifted individuals! Absolutely amazing, not one single disappointing song. WOW.
Awesome job on this LS classic; every note was perfect (you even got the harmonic squeals). Big smiles & love your music.
Austin absolutely killed it in this one. I know Billy Powell is smiling down after such an amazing job by the LLB. Thank you all (again!) for keeping great music alive.
Woohoo, Mr. Breeze!! Awesome!
I have watched this several times.....Roger is for sure..."in the groove"....gr8 job !!
Excellent!
That's it. Making a playlist of their channel. Every song kills it. Listen all the time
Your band is Fantastic!!!
Stood up and clapped at the end of that one
As usual, it’s hard to express just how much I love the work you guys do.
However, like several others, I have to give Austin and the horns special mention. WOW!
Thank you for giving another amazing performance.
You guys hit it out of the park on this Skynyrd classic. Thanks from the Great White North
BRILLIANT
Great job everyone and the solos were outstanding. Great job too horn section. Billie Powell sound alike on piano was awesome. Keep the Skynard songs coming.
Incredible...!
Gritty and greasy! Just as it should be played! We’ll done! We’ll done!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Right on the money!
Just one word. WOW!!
Awesome ✌✌✌👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🎸🎶🎵🎼
note for freakin' note. bravo.
FAR OUT 😎
This song was written by J.J.Cale, Lynyrd Skynyrd did a cover!
Kudos to who ever is the person that brings in all of this talent and gets this song done right!!!
Man you guys are just blowing me away with your spot-on arrangements ! Not only would Lynyrd Skynyrd be proud of this, but so would J.J. Cale. TBH you guys (and girls on other songs) have made my night. Had never even heard of you all until 1 hour ago. And now I have listened to about 12 straight songs. Kudos, you folks are just FANTASTIC !!!
What's next --- Stevie Ray Vaughan ?
one SRV up and another on the way!
@@LexingtonLabBand Thank you, will check it out ASAP. Your collective is truly amazing. If you play live this year anywhere near Lexington I will do my best to come see your show. I love the respect that you folks pay to the original artists trying to stay as close to the original as possible. It is awesome and stunning ! 😂 Like a Twilight Zone time machine.
9/1/24. Details announced mid spring
Always an aural pleasure when one of your videos show up in my feed... Taken back in time.
Best cover of this song ever! From Ed's fills to Gary's and Billy's solo, spot on!
Have not heard this one either from you guys. Sounds like another REMASTER from the Principal. Once again, practically every song I hear from you fellas is just perfect. Love ya folks. Doug, again
Flawless excellence
Awesome
OMG! OMG! Just superb in every facet. Thank you so much. I grew up with Skynard, graduating high school in 1976. Fabulous cover.
Great Job Guys Always loved Skynyrds Vesion of this (JJ Cale) Tune !!
Thanks!
OMG! I died and went to Heaven. This was a masterpiece. I've made up my mind. Yes, I would pay to see and listen to you perform.
September 5, 2021, my friend.
excellent song and great cover
Billy Powell is smiling from above!
Good lord!
Rippin good
Wow!!! So good!!
You guys are amazing.
OutSTANDING!!! You guy's never cease to amaze!! And the horns...DANG!!!
Good Lord!
This is your best!!
Unbelievable. These people are amazing. Love all their songs. Wow!
100% badass
This just makes me smile! What a great version.
I couldn't see if the singer was bare footed!! Hahaha!!!
Beautiful, thanks a lot for sharing!
very good
Ah yeah!!!
Cover spettacolare...
Perfect!
Billy Powell made proud
All the singer needs is Ronnie hat from Texas Hattery and a Muscle Shoals t shirt
Not to mention a Neil Young t-shirt. Ronnie wore a Neil Young t-shirt sometimes
@@jamesbreithaupt5138 Yes he sure did. It was a very different time - I loved the irony 🤣
The backup singer did a great job of covering Leon
It should be illegal to nail a Skynyrd song this good without being in a packed stadium. When I am president, I'll propose such legislation. Fantastic job BTW.
It's like Rossington Collins Gaines chemistry was back again. Amazing.
Hoss cats!!!
Somewhere, J J Cale is smiling
Have you tried Sammy Hager "I can't drive 55"
Billy Powell on the piano...oh wait.
It's a J.J. Cale song covered by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
yes it is - and we did the LS version. Thanks for listening
Grandmasters
Better than the original.
Where’s the rebel flag!!!
give jj a little credit
Of course! But this is a remake of the Skynyrd version specifically
@@LexingtonLabBand i got it. Did both justice too. Mahalo.
Sounds about 5bpm slow
This is a J. J. Cale song, not Lynyrd.
You are correct BUT we based our cover off of the LS studio cut.
Why is the (amazing) singer wearing something in his ear? Maybe to protect from loud volume?
We use in ear monitors like many in the industry these days
Jesus Christ
Vocalisnt is good but not suited to this song. Melody was pretty dang close! Well done!
Get your hearing checked BONEHEAD. 🥴🥴🥴
Man, you all are amazing. Glad that I found you. Rock on
I just had to drop by this morning and listen again. Ass kicking southern rock always wins over today's crap.
