Possibly THE GREATEST ROCK SONG OF ALL TIME! I never get tired of hearing it. Free Bird & SHA, rock radio have played to death, this one has so much going on, I'm always hearing something new.
Nice! Having fun as a keyboard player, slowly learning guitar. Yes, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks Scott & Cheers from Seattle! Hope you faired well through the hurricane - Best thoughts with all that are surviving that destruction.
Fantastic tutorial! It’s always a joy watching you play through these. This tune offers a treasure trove of cool riffs and licks. Thanks for sharing your expertise of this great band as well.
Very nice Scott!!! I'm a guitar player for 53 years (yea, I'm old) and as I tell my students and friends, "You're never too old to learn a lick!" I've played Breeze with my band for many years. I enjoyed you breaking down some of those "signature licks" played by Gary, Allen, and Ed. I cleaned up a few my own "Breeze Licks" thanks to you (i.e. 22:44). Even though some songs get played to death (aka Freebird) , I still enjoy watching talented musicians like youself rock guitar leads like your video at Glasgow, KY 9/11/21 show. I never tire of listening to and watching good guitar jams! Glad you're keeping the "best time for guitar rock" alive and well with APB.
I love your lessons! None of the fret by fret number nonsense. It was a great exercise for me to be able to see and hear what you were doing and then figure out what positions you were playing in and when you were combining major and minor. I think I had to watch it back about 20 times to really get it but in my defense half the time I was looking at your cute doggie!! Thanks for doing all of these great lessons
This is great Scott. I love this studio version. I have been listening to the live performances and they are cool, but this is my favorite. I am connecting the parts together. So fun, thank you!
Great, love it,I seen yall play at the old now defunct Artists Cafe in Newton NC in December 2009,it was a great show, sound quality was great, you got the tone and feel of my favorite band down to a T 😊
@@seraines Ok,it was a great show in a backwoods bar in NC,I have a band and played the same venue many times, but artimus Pyle band came in there with better equipment and mixers,I was flabbergasted, said damn, must be nice to have some cash,I love your skynyrd playing, the greatest live band ever
Don’t know if your dog companion isn’t a Skynard fan or it’s just nap time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I’ve been a huge fan of theirs since the beginning!
Thanks for being here and showing us how to play skynyrd the right way. You and Ed King I enjoy both of you showing your wealth of knowledge. Quick story I live in NJ and I’m working on my car and I here this skynyrd music coming from the park on the next block. It sounds really good . So I stop and go check it out and it is APB. Pretty cool for . So after artymus comes over to talk to me and pet my dog . Real down to earth nice guy . Just thought I would share that. I have seen you guys a bunch after that in NJ thanks again 🎃
Thanks Scott I’ve learned more of my favorite Skynyrd tunes (the correct way that is) since I discovered you than I have all the years I’ve been playing or searching the tube ! Great lessons!
Thanks for covering Gary’s solo. I learned it a few years ago by ear, but I’ve gotten rusty on it in recent years. This will help a lot in re-learning it. 👍🏼
I just fell in love with these Alabama Boys. I was probaly the only black person in my town, who knew who in the hell these boys were. Lynard Skynard Smokes. And every Album after. My roots are from Mississippi. And it was these guys who got me back to my Mississippi Blues Roots. Just left Belzoni outside of Jackson Mss. And was on Hwy 49 Off the Yazoo River. The Delta Blues Hwy. miss them so much. Steve Gains join the band. And just freaking raised the bar on Southern Blues Rock.
Scott thank you for all these great tutorials! I'd love to see tutorials on some of the lesser-played but awesome Steve Gaines tracks like You Got That Right or I Know A Little.
Learning this song. Is like learning what the blues really is. Just learning this dam J.J. Cale song Blown the hell up by Skynyrd. And it still puts tears in my eyes. And you do such a great respect. Cause I put Skynard right there next to Jimi. Cause them boys. Rip the fucking floor.
So far you’re the only person that I have been able to learn these fills from, you take the time to listen and play and replay parts over and over, the same way I practice.., I also used a record player then cassette recorder to learn, push play, rewind over and over again. Playing the song it seems like 100 times over and over, thank you for sharing your videos, I’ve got new inspiration to tackle my all time favorite songs. Glad I didn’t scroll past your RUclips channel. 😅😅😅
GREAT!!!! Huge THANK YOU for these excellent lessons! I’m looking for the best phaser for that Skynyrd tone that you NAIL! ANY SUGGESTIONS?? Thank you in advance! You’ve got me learning these tunes the right way!
I could spend a few weeks/months/years just learning all the fills, and still not get it right :-). Great lesson, can use a lot of these riffs in so may songs.
Scott....brilliant tutorials ! Thank you. Would you plan to do an Acoustic tutorial on Travellin' Man including the initial explosive bass run (on Acoustic guitar :-). Thanks once again.
Any chance you have time to do a short tutorial on How to get that 'Bouncy' beat in JJ Cales': It's Easy song, with Eric Clapton. We would be ever so grateful, Thanks, Josh
I use D’Addario electric strings. 9’s and 9.5’s mostly. I’ll put 10’s on my SG most of the time. Elixir Nanoweb (12’s) on my acoustics. I’m pretty simple these days. I use a Kemper Profiler. I’m profiling all my amps, so I’ll sell some and store others.

Scott , the tone on the breeze that YOUR using, what type amp, setting, pedal, WHAT are you using....that is such a creamy edge of breakup sound, but has just enough saturation as well....love that tone.....

I really hope he does “things” too. It is such a cool song. It’s the rhythm after the intro that confuses me. Mr. Banker is another one. One of the best bands ever.
Hi again, what software are you using to get your tones? It sounds killer! Is that Guitar Rig or TH3? Sorry for the many questions. I feel you have the best channels out there.
I use a Kemper Profiler. I have a Powertrain 50w powered speaker cab for when I need one, but most of the time I run direct. You can profile your own amps into the unit and you’ll have them wherever you go without breaking your back carrying them around. 👍🏼
@@seraines Hey Scott, thank you for responding! I have a Headrush MX5 and Line 6 Pod Go. I am debating whether to get the Headrush Prime or the Headrush Core. Thank you again.
