In my experience it was an automatic firing, and no one had a say, though you could still reapply later, I wouldn’t be surprised if they got so desperate for workers they changed this policy, with amazon growing faster then they really can handle, and from my experience, most employees quitting within their first year
I work for the post office and we are unionized. I know unions aren't always ideal, but it makes firing someone a process. Which again, if you're a shitty worker it sucks but it helps all employees to be protected by just getting fired.
Amazon is the one company where a union would make a lot of sense, unfortunately it would protect the inconsistent & toxic L3 process assistants & L5 area managers that are incompetent
2 years ago, i worked at part-time Amazon. In 5/28/2000 i took 4 months unpaid vacation by not having license. Sis doesn't want to drop me. UPT, VTO are great just for days, time off. Dad doesn't let me take upt or vto
This is a good point I should have brought up in the video, VTO does not take away any of your time, though I would always recommend checking your time yourself, and alway make it was processed correctly, Especially when you take vto on site while your already at work, point being, no, VTO is not supposed to affect your time
You can use pto and upt at the same time. For vto they usually do it at atoz full shift or once you’re working they will start asking people if you’re interested taking vto. They can also ask you if you’re interested for vto but they will do it as raffle. Hope this helps 😊
This reply super late, sorry for that, I don’t think using VTO and PTO at the same time makes any sense within the amazon computer system, and I would personally recommend saving your PTO for when you need it, because when you need to take a day off, though don’t have any time left to do so. It feels like a trap, because it very hard to rebuild your time back up, if you keep needing a day off by the time you get one
I just started in December permanent FT. I started off with like 14 hours PTO. I requested two days off. My request was approved. But now my PTO is negative (have 25 hours UPT). What will happen? Will they take balance from UPT or just take it from future PTO. I know it renews in January.
You have to enter it manually ahead it time to be paid, or unpaid time will automatically be added instead, or try to get HR to fix it later which can be a hassle

Go to Human Resources and tell them you had an excuse and bring it with you. Then they will add some of your vacation and pto to the hours you missed. Fix it fast.
If your UPT time is negative and you don’t fix it you will get fired, however to get some upt time back u can use PTO your personal time off to fix it, but you have to do it within your pay time period.

But, unpaid time is only for blue batch employees if you're still a white batch then it will show the point system and personal time only.
How do you view vacation time? I'm part time Blue Badge and 3 months away from 1 year. A to Z only shows my UPT and PTO balances. No option to request Vacation on the app.

So so sorry for the late response, I know it’s too late now, if someone does look at this question in the future, Leave Of Absence is completely separate from all of your other times off, if you get approved for a leave, none of your other time offs will be affected by this, one problem could happen where you could have a sudden medical emergency and can’t wait for a leave to be approved, though your time is supposed to be returned to you once your leave is actually approved. Though you do need to apply through the employees website, and file all their paper work as they want it to be filed, you have to bring their paper work into see your doctor, and a note directly from your doctor that not an amazon provided paper for them to fill out is basically useless in my experience, You can take a sort of vacation leave, though it required a minimum of two weeks off at a time, and can only be taken up to 3 times a year, and cannot be taken during a blackout period, and trying to apply for a leave before the blackout period is called officially can be trouble some, because in my experience, I couldn’t apply for a leave more then I believe it was 4 months in advance, and they wanted me to wait for it to be closer to at most 3 months in advance, even though I already had purchased plane tickets, And I couldn’t just apply for it anyway on my own, because my schedule didn’t appear that far into the future, so the computer saw it as me trying to apply for days off, that I wasn’t scheduled to work, um, yea, amazon is so great to work at

No you don’t get paid for VTO. You just don’t lose your personal hours, and should always check to make sure you don’t lose personal hours and the VTO was put in correctly the next day

I went negative on my upt 4 times. Still working for them. Although it wasn’t my fault that it went negative that is why my time got refunded
If you run out of time you don't get fired. If you go negative on upt you get contacted by hr

how do you leave early? do you use unpaid time off before u clock in and put the time you’re leaving? or do you do it after you clock out
