The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

We were on the isle of Arran when this came out, had a fantastic time camping for 10 days, woke up to a river in the tent one day, 50mph winds on another, had a morning covered in snow, dolphins and a submarine on yet another day. It's an amazing journey going up to Scotland this time of year. Looking forward to this mini-series.

Nice setup maybe weld a bar to hold the boxes in place, just in case you have a crash or have to slam on the brakes!
They are wedged in and held by the L section rails. I made it all a nice tight for too👍

All those boxes need to be properly strapped and secured. They can turn into nasty objects if they hit the back of a person's head. Not enough to just wedge them in. In a previous job I've seen how deadly things in the back of any vehicle can be in event of an accident and sudden catastrophic deceleration of said vehicle.
Scotland is the place for adventure. My very first Scottish mountain was the Cobbler, back in 1978. Looking forward to the next episode already 🙂

Yes I did Ben Nevis whilst there in pretty dire conditions. Many attempted and had to turn back that day although they were dangerously underprepared

Love the set up, and it goes to show you haven't got to spend a fortune to get out and enjoy yourself. I must admit that up until you showed the front seat i thought that was incredibly tidy how you had it set up. Then when I saw the front seat it reminded me of my car, stuff everywhere. Really like the idea of the shelf, maybe a drop down shelf attachment for a laptop/tv facing you would be the icing on the cake. All the best Mally

That was an epic drone fly-around the Cobbler. It added a wonderful final few minutes to the video.
I have been exploring wild regions and living in my BMW X5 almost full-time the past 3-years, and love it. Your setup is almost exactly the same as mine, with the split tailgate and Rab sleeping bag permanently on air mattress (Kampa Wideboy 12cm and Outwell Dreamcatcher XL 12cm, so 24cm depth of comfort!). I haven't made a seperate shelf like yours, but the X5 has its own large retractable parcel shelf that I use to store lighter stuff. With no 🐕 dog, it provides me with bags of more room along one side for BMW fridge cooler and food plus other gear, including space on passenger seat and footwells.
On the subject of 🔋 battery power, I use the EcoFlow River power-station, which is fantastic and fully charges in only one hour! To keep it recharged all year, I use two portable 120W & 150W folding solar panels.
Great lifestyle being able to move around and enjoy many places. I love the Ecoflow batteries and have a couple (delta max and delta mini) which are awesome. I can’t fault them👍

Yes I’ve a good storage set for the back of one of the seats and I’ve nearly bought the thermal window covers a few times. Generally though I’m in the roof tent👍
wind deflectors bud! can crack a window a little bit for sleeping ventilation, rain wont leak in and adds a cool look to the disco 🤘 happy camping. cool set up anyone can achieve

Nice long asss drive, very scenic!!! I did it the other week, stayed at the Ben Nevis Inn Bunkhouse was nice!! Climbed Ben Nevis via the CMD arête route, fair old slog but worth the amazing views!!

Nice, simple setup. Love it. I'm 187cm (6'2") and struggle to sleep in a car. I've had an Outlander and a Honda CR-V, it was pretty cramped to say the least.
I’m fine in that straight out at 6ft but I wouldn’t want it any smaller. I could put the seats forward though👍

So fun, here across the pond in the US my wife and I explore the remote places as well. It's a beautiful planet, you get that. Which makes you and Blue such good animals. We are older, but not old enough to quit our explorations!

You are so right about making every moment count. I was born in Zambia 1954, left in 73, never been back because hubby refuses to get on a plane, so, hey, no, compromised!! When he retires, we are getting a better 4x4, Dacia Duster we have at the minute doesn't cut it!! Going to travel to Cape Town and back, rough camping en route when he retires in 4 years time, just hope I am still capable!!!! Cannot wait!!!!

I did my winter mountaineering course in scotland with the army a few years back, snow holing etc i cant wait to go back and do it all again when i get out next year. Get yourself up to the cairngorms its fantastic in the winter. Looking forward to the next video.

Oh gee, you did it again, another top gun do-it-yourself (DIY) invention; bet you can customize the metal tray/shelf to fit any car. I'd be your friend if I live on your side of the pond. You should consider posting things you make and selling them as you make them. You don't know what life will bring and you'll get more hits when you throw a wider net. You could design for outdoor manufacturing companies on a part time basis. Who knows the world is open to imagination like yours. I would use some tie downs for the boxes just in case of a very steep down hill or hit from the back--you don't want anything flying to the front where you and Blue are. Thanks. P.S.S. We love to see you make things too--gives you a break if you don't and can't do an outdoor--mix it up--sewing the sleeping mat for Blue, making your knives, your tent--my goodness, if you want to pick your nose, we'll tune in. :) Your life, talent, capability is above the structured usual mate. Your entire life is very interesting--love to see a video just on you working with Blue.

We live near the cobbler my daughter and her pals have been up it a few times in case you don’t know the reason it’s called the cobbler is that funny shape on the top looks like a man sitting cobbling a shoe hence the name ,enjoy your holiday stay safe the weather can turn in a minute up here 🏴🏴🏴
