As a Christian I recognize the Sikh faith as an accurate way to God when your Gurus seems to share the same values with the Messiah, that's why Sikhi people deserves respect and can always count on support from people like myself.

The Main British Influences on Sikhi
    1. Lowered the status of the Guru
    2. Told us we do not preach
    3. Created Gurdwara Committees
    4. Installed the voting system

The British actully took advantage of the Khalsa identity and used it to get Sikhs to join their army. They heavily encouraged Sikhs to receive Khand Di Phaul.

As a proud English man i cringe at some of the practices of the British Empire towards the Sikh people, i saw the tv debate about this and found it very interesting, the British should value the Sikh people for their history and their contemporary contribution to British life.

Colin Clews . it's because they have turned away from the values of democracy, which btw was introduced and informed by Catholic-jeudaism. had the jeudical system been run by the Catholic or jews they would have not done that. But now uk has moved towards atheism which is why they have no knowledge of morals apart from what makes them hungry. eg. money makes them hungry. But when sone1 else is starving does their belly rumble? when some1 else gets tortured do they feel pain? when people are running for their lives do these politicians sweat? when innocent people everyday get shot, do these politicians bleed? no, right?

Why and how Brits got involved in internal affairs of Sikhi? Number one reason was Brits recruitment of Sikhs in British Indian army. Now lots of Sikhs especially jats joined British army! Their next meal came from Brits! Their livelihood depended on Brits recruiting them!

no the Gurus are on the same level as Sri Ram chander or Sri Krishna, they are the exact same Jot (light) just different Yugs. Like how 10 Sikh Gurus are the same Jot but different bodies, but occuring within the same Yug. Read Ang 1082 of Guru Granth Sahib, Guru Arjun Dev Ji calls Sri Krishna and Sri Ram Chander as Akal Purakh's forms, and so were the Sikh Gurus, hence the light is exactly the same. They are also from the exact same racial/heritage background called the Kshatriya Varna, which is an ancient North Indian native race. You know who else belongs to this ancient race: Buddha-started Buddhism, Mahaveer-started Jainism, Sri Ram Chander, Sri Krishna, and all 10 Sikh Gurus, remember Guru Ram Das is also called "Sodhi Sultan," that is a Kshatriya surname.

Grateful BasicsOfSikhi for perfectly articulating this ... I've been reading about this for such a long time and yes, it's frustrating to hear about this amazing British loyalty for the British (with the implication that it works both ways). What's equally frustrating is that we forget that it was the British empire that dismantled the Khalsa/Sikh kingdom , and so many of us now have fully adopted the English lifestyle, appearance, etc, without a 2nd thought of our own heritage, faith & future!

bhaji i acquiesce in the things you say. if we are suffering today its not because of anyone else but ourselves. we need to unite and we can't leave everything at the mercy of so called panthak committees unless they are effective and are not mere termites... secondly bhaji the way you are speaking now, i'd encourage you to speak this way all the time especially during street parchars... slowly, calmly, to the point, without hurry; i know that's a little difficult especially during debates where you have to get your point across ASAP. but truthfully, your humility and serenity would win over others than your persuasive talking... and I've witnessed the same in your talk with the dawa man.... anyways keep doing the good job... may guru always keep us in buoyant spirits. T J Sahi. This video is the first time that I have heard the Gurus called incarnated. When a christian says that they mean that Jesus Christ wasn't created by a human man and woman. Does Sikhism mean the same thing about Guru Nanak? Did Guru Nanak have a normal mortal birth to 2 parents?

Yogi Bhajan was not only a traitor but, also, a fool as are you and the rest of you white 3HO fanatic freaks.
I am fed up of your cult disrespecting my faith and culture. Why have you copied and distorted it? Do you not have one of your own?
You can pretend to look and act holy by adorning all white, but you do not fool me or many other Sikhs. You are not a 'light of the Guru' or 'pure' as your pretentious name suggests. If you have any respect for Sikhi then you should change your name and your profile picture, as the over-elaborate turban and pose shows me that you are full of ego.
For those who do not know about 3HO/SiknNet/SikhDharma, these people dance on Gurbani & Bhangra, pray to Hindu Gods in Hindu temples and perform gay marriages. They even sell religious articles for profit amongst countless other anti-Sikh practices

One thing to add and correct where the parchar is not truthful regarding the kuka shaheed singh's is that the singh's were not tied to the cannon's they stood bravely by in front of the cannons and did not let the british touch them which was part of the Sant Khalsa maryada. This is also told by famous sikh historian - Giani Gian Singh Ji where he recalled what he had seen with his own eyes as he was there. Giani ji recalls that the singhs run to give shaheedi and shout jakare while being blown by the cannons.
On 13th Jan 1872, about 150 Namdhari Sikhs under the leadership of Sant Hira Singh and Lehna Singh proceeded to Kotla to avenge the wrong done by a fanatic Muslim judge. Fighting took place between the Sikhs and Malerkotla officials and many lives were lost. The Namdhari Sikhs voluntarily surrendered themselves to the authorities however did not let the british touch them and accepted whatever was to happen next.
Meanwhile The Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, Mr Cowan rushed to the scene and took over charge from the minor ruler of Malerkotla. Cowan ordered that the Namdhari Sikhs be brought before him and ordered that they be blown to bits. On 17th January, 49 Namdhari Sikhs were blown away with cannon guns. Next day on 18th January a further 16 Namdhari Sikhs were blown to their deaths.
Part of the shaheed singh's was 12 yrs old Shaheed Bishan Singh. Cowen’s wife begged him to show mercy on the little child. Cowen agreed but on a condition that Bishen Singh had to denounce that he was a sikh of Satguru Ram singh ji. On hearing this Bishen Singh grabbed hold of Cowen’s beard and did not let go till he was chopped to bits. Bishen Singh was the 50th shaheed on 17th January.
It is not fair to the shaheed singh's to say they were tied to cannons this should be corrected in history.

Certainly a very hard-hitting & informative talk, & very interesting. Just wanted to point out that at the local church/congregational level in the Church of England, there are such things as "parish councils" - which are a type of local committee, some of whose members are "elected" (voted into office) by the other qualified adult members of the congregation. The parish priest/minister is automatically a member of that committee & personally "appoints" 2 or 3 of the committee members himself. While the "parish council" generally looks after the day-to-day running of the church, including the finances, the parish priest is still technically & legally responsible for the church, & also operates in a position over & above that of the parish council, with his "supervisor" being the regional bishop. Parish priests/ministers do need to have formal qualifications in theology - being a degree from either a recognised theological college or university.

    • @gurujot951
      @gurujot951 7 лет назад +5

How it works in Sikh Gurdwaras is there are open elections for committee members, and no qualifications needed. So what ends up happening is the whoever is financing the Gurdwara is above who is the spiritual/religious leader, and they are often treated poorly. What you outlined involves voting by committee members not general population. and the priests have to have a degree, whereas Sikh committee members have zero qualifications.

I'm african heritage and grew up doing what would be considered yoga, only we just called it morning and evening exercise in english as the whole chanting and mantras is not part of the tradition but an outsider looking in would these days call it yoga.

I think it’s not only the British, it’s all the Christian faith people. Its even true today, the English dictionary defines the word Guru as a teacher and the word is used in the US in this lower context all the time.
One time I met a white man here in United States and we were having a discussion about race and culture. One thing said got stuck in my head. He said when we Whites like something, we make it our own by hook or by crook and then we’ll mold into what we want. I think they also destroy what they think is a threat to them by showing feign towards it. I’m sorry but I’ve lost faith in gora Sikhs, I think they have ulterior motives behind their portrayal of Sikhi. I think that’s why gora Sikhs in Cali have women as Panj Pyaare, they want to change Sikhi to suit them.

You are right, they do the same with everything, they have corrupted yoga from a deeply spiritual concept into something they do naked, they have "beer yoga" and have sexualised it in p*rnography too. They also infiltrated and twisted african religions like "vodun" turned that into voodoo and made it seem like it was witchcraft. But people are so lost that when they see a white person adopt something they feel so excited. This is an inferiority complex.
