Really? Because Bloodborne is a 3rd person 3d character action game with RGP lite elements. Great review! The recent patch on PC includes a pause, and the starting classes start with different weapons You’ll see an icon on the map showing you where you died. Your Nycrux are beside your last checkpoint if you died to a boss. And they fixed dead ends. The devs really listened.
@midlifemaestro that's on PC what about the people that bought this dumpster fire for consoles ,how long do we have to wait till they patch everything?
Do you also know if they patched the bug where players couldn't get the final achievement (the one for getting all other achievements)? I got all the achievements for this game except for that one, and it's been nagging me ever since.
@@midlifemaestro just booted up the game and got the achievement, thanks for letting me know. Was a pain in the ass having my rightfully earned achievement not given to me
The game doesn't even pause on certain cutscenes. I almost died once when I activated a switch that showed a short cutscenes of the door opening in another area.
The problem with this game is that the people who made it are one of those who think bloodborne is a perfect game with no flaws (I bet someone in the comments is gonna try to argue with me about that being true so I tell you to piss off instead) which absolutely wrong in my opinion there are a lot of small problems people are blind to with the game I only noticed them because it was the last fromsoftware game I played unlike most people who started with bloodborne
Yah, I feel ya. The last few maps of the main game are always a pain, the secret final boss is really just to fill in lore, some weapons are just awful which, with a game with so few of them, shouldn't be allowed, the critical counter system is awful, etc. The game is still fantastic and deserves the love, yes, but it has some serious flaws
Yea I bought it on switch and it's jerky as hell. I just stopped playing until they fix it because it runs like crap. Disappointing too cuz a cool game is there.
I'm playing the game right now. I'm really enjoying it. It's tough but not completely ball breaking like some games. With some thought and carefulness anyone can get through it. The are direction is amazing in my opinion. I couldn't like it anymore.
@@MetroidvaniaGuru I have the game on my PS4 but just like you when I get items from characters, the character portraits are in the way of the items and the info about the items. It's annoying but not game breaking. I just hope that one of the updates allow a pause feature without worrying about being attacked and they allow us to level up Eryk at altars without having to backtrack.
Good game I rate it 7/10 My problems are : . Healing grinding . Weapons scaling making no sense and weapons upgrades being too expensive and both made worse by the other . There is an unnecessary delay on every input especially the jump button that ruined platforming for me and caused me many deaths . Insta death falls which made worse by the controls delay I agree with you about the lack of a pause button you can tell the devs were copying blindly when they don't even know why certain mechanics exist I a fromsoftware game, the lack of a pause button is because of the online mode ( this game doesn't have an online mode) and from being too lazy to implement a true offline mode and the proof being both Sekiro and armored core have pause button Agree with you on the lack of a true class choice
I am so tired of the "Go find all 50 fetuses scattered throughout the world" trope. At least have an item that marks their location on the map like in Hollow Knight
Love the game. It's the most dark-souls like from non-From game you can get. * Exploration. * Viable Dex build, maybe even on OP side. * No need to grind levels, weapon level up is more beneficial. (I've ended on lv 80 without grind runs). * No need to level up vitality. Story progression gives enough HP. * No need to grind for flasks, they are cheap. (Yes I talk about you Bloodborne). * Multiple available paths. I've got to icey area early in the game hugely under-leveled and got unbelievable DS1 vibes from reaching next save points until Starlight gave a hint it's a bit early to visit him. I have only minor grudges with quality of life things like menu navigation without page scrolling and buying items only in one-increments.
I feel like almost everybody went down the Icey area only to get 2 tapped by a winged friend before they finally realize it. It is just the logical path really.
You might want to add that if you defeat laddak the games second to last boss you murder all the NPCs you've collected at the manor ,so don't kill this boss until you've done everything in the game because killing him too early locks you out of alot of side quests such as giving the manor mother her frozen livers to name a quest. Also there's no new game plus which sucks because I for one would like to use my weapons and skills the game had me get so I don't die . There's also drop off points that aren't shown on your map so let's say your jumping between two buildings and you think hey my map shows what looks like a ledge a few feet down lemme jump down and see ,nope death. There's also the no pause feature the fact that to use items you use the sticks to cycle through them and you can get hit while looking for these items in your menu.the game has lots of hiccups that are a put off for me after beating it once I put it down .
Couple of couples of things. Marksman template's stats are 4 lvl higher than the rest of them without starting at a higher level. if you dont care about minmaxing, its the best bang for your buck. Greatsword is unfairly OP due to its vertical reach. No other weapon does the jumpin attacks ,required for out of the way mobs and monsters, so well. It outshines every other weapon, plus it upgrades too fast cause it needs basic materials. And the secret boss at the end of the crests puzzle brings some understanding of the lore about Sepolchri and the Erlim Blackthings family. Instict is a viable stat for some weapons, like the awesome fireblade, some spells scale well with it, the grenades and weapon imbues scale with it and it also raises the drop chance of consumable items from enemies. The stigma that transforms you is a core upgrade and is separate from the parry or shield or weapon speed stigma. basically it just shares the name but its another function. I agree the game is awesome but the true ending wraps it up in a way that feels a sequel is not in the cards. I m sad about that. Top notch pixel art.
they also fixed the hungry/starving essense infinite souls bug. kinda sad that I dont get to make a full build in 2-3 hours. Respeccing is nice though.
You can level up to maximum level (all attributs on 99) in ten minutes once you can buy EXP potions in the mansion. Just die on purpose by jumping into a bottomless hole or a spike pit near a save point, then respawn, drink the EXP potion and recover 120 % (hungry essence) or 150 % (starving essence) of your lost EXP, while the potion effect is active. Do this over and over again. Even if you start at 1,000 EXP and only have starving essences for 20 % more EXP, you'll end up with 100 million EXP after 64 repetitions.
Yes Aldrich had a quest. Think you eventually get a dried liver after the end of his quest. You have to give livers to the old woman in the mansion also.
I had the same issue with the ring in the city, but actually, that monument gives you a hint that you're supposed to come back here with the ring. In my case, I had read it before, but then totally forgot about it by the time I had the ring :D
Played it on a 7800x3d with 4090 system. Basically I have enough power to start 27 last faith simultaneously, still fps dropped under 20 during the spam falling sword attack of the draco boss on the frozen lake :) . Game is absolutely beautiful
I played The Last Faith on the switch as well. I had a couple of crashes only, but fps drops were a constant issue. It's hard to understand why considering it looks almost identical to Blasphemous, and that game runs perfectly fine on the switch for me.
I'd say it arguably looks worse. The sprites in blasphemous have way more animation frames. Blasphemous also doesn't have irritating audio issues and area transitions are also quick. Seems like they just threw the source code into a compiler, never bothered to check whether there'd be issues, pressed the publish button and called it a day.
@@JustFun-ho6qy Jesus, what a dissapointment. Got both game on switch. No real problems. Smooth games, but this one triggers me! But i dont want a difficulty around those huge frame drops.... I hope for a fix
¿Why do you limit yourself to the Switch? I don't mean to criticize, I'm just curious. I mean, for one so dedicated to this genre, it seems odd not to explore it in a multiplatform way. Love your stuff, by the way.
No worries! To answer your question, I collect games on the Switch, so it was an easy starting point. Plus, not a lot of people Review Switch versions of games when other versions are available, so I like to let people know how Switch versions perform. Will I be branching out to other platforms? Yes, sir! I’m working on a highly demanded Metroidvania only found on Steam, so stay tuned! 😊
Largely agree with your review. Would add that the weapon balancing is a bit spicy. Did the same as i did in salt and sanctuary 2 hander and str scaling trivialises the game if you explore everything as soon you get new traversaloptions and Upgrade your weapon. Doing a whip dex run now and though the weapon special is nuts it is way more difficult. Still, i am really enjoying the game. Would love they nerf the few enemies that shoot from off screen and add a bit punch to the parry. :)
Brawler starts with an axe, I don't know if they fixed it with a patch, but this is what brawler started with for me about a week ago. I knew right away I had to go back to grave with the ring cause it literally says it on the grave that the ring opens it...
Have you heard of deaths gambit? It's another good soulsvania, and it's also on the switch. Plus, since it's at the end of the update cycle, it runs way smoother.
I dig Grime, Death’s Gambit, and Salt & Sanctuary but I’m not a fan of Blasphemous. I’m ambivalent about this game. Great art and animation but its uncanny resemblance to Blasphemous puts me off. And at $28 it’s not exactly a chance I want to take. Great review as always! Btw, I’m on break at work and can’t finish this video now, but does this game support movement with the D-pad? Much thanks!
Blasphemous is better than every game you mentioned (Grime and S&S are fantastic too tho). Death’s Gambit is a joke, tho I played before the “afterlife” update
I think it's a good idea to hold off until it gets patched. And to answer your question, no movement with the D-pad. There's no key binding options at all, which I think is always a bummer.
@@MetroidvaniaGuru Thank you for the reply! That’s all I need to know. No D-pad for a 2D action-platformer is a pass for me. Same with Aeterna Noctis. I started playing Super Metroid 29 years ago with a D-pad. I’m not using only analog for a similar game lol. Thank you all for your comments here.
Been playing this on my steam deck oled and I am in love! I love souls games and soulsvanias, this is possibly taking over from the blasphemous games for me!
I think in your game version, the not having the stats causes weapon to be slower or do less damage. You can see the minus to dmg in the inventory, but not sure on the speed.
With healing items if you just buy a few here and there with the Nycrux you have left over after leveling up you should always have more than enough in storage. The game isn’t THAT hard…
I never said the game was hard; matter of fact, I said it got easy in the mid- to late-game. And I never bought a single healing injection. I just brought it up because it has the potential to frustrate people. And that I think limited healing items is kinda lame.
I found it irritating as well that my health vials would not get restored at save points so I got to the point when I would go level up myself/weapon whatever money I had left over I would just go buy health with it and go back out in the world with no money to lose, overtime I had a pretty good pocket full of health to refill from when I’d go fight bosses. 🤷🏻
After installing the patch, I now also see some strange text on the bottom right side of the screen. And really takes me out of the experience for some reason.
I had hoped this game would have many of its issues fixed before purchasing. I see it did get some patch support but it doesn’t seem like it went far enough to make the game a must play
The debuffs, 2 button parry and no pause r biggest complaints but i do love the game its great hopefully they patch few issues like dieing during cutscenes if an enemy is close
Still waiting on PS4 performance patch. After the Lisa boss fight room it crashes consistently. Nevermind going from the manor to Helenya. That wasn't game breaking, but not being able to progress the story is a PROBLEM.
man, i know this has nothing to do with this particular review, but the same issues on switch happened to me in Afterimage. Before the last patch the game runs ok-ish, but now is just a cracling mess of sound and stutters. A shame, but i have it on PC and on the Deck is perfect. Also, kudos man, without you i would have never discovered Afterimage. Is pretty great.
I really enjoyed this game - it took a bit of adjusting after just finishing Blasphemous 2-the devs at Game Kitchen are masters at their craft. The stats and classes needed some refinement, instant kill spikes and falls I’m not a fan of, no aerial abilities like casting and shooting in mid air would have been nice and there were some glitches in boss arenas. Overall though I hope these devs take the feedback and improve on their formula-this was still a really solid and fun game.
@@marcosramos5117 in B1 also pit insta death. -no casting and/or shooting while airborne in both B1andB1 r u discomforted by them too or just biased?! 😉
@@YEAH-YEAH-YEAH-YEAH-YEAH I was mainly referring to Blasphemous 2 since they made some great improvements to their combat and I had just finished that game before starting Last Faith-but you CAN cast in air and use the different “weapon arts” not all prayers but a-lot of them you can. Part 1 you had a rosary bead that will allow you to attack faster which meant you could stay in air a little longer when attacking-it made some of the platforming and the floating enemies fun. Not saying I didn’t like this game I actually want more & I hope to see more games from this studio or more Last Faith with improved mechanics.
@@marcosramos5117 if u were specifically referring to the second game fair enough but the first blasphemous general mobility wasn’t much better then this one not hating on blasphemous games dinished the first 4 times and waiting for ng+ update for the second one to finish it again. And of course will wait for the last faith ng+ as well if they ever come out. Hv a nice one bud 👍🏼
I enjoyed The Last Faith, I would give it a solid B. The thing that keeps it from being an A in my eyes is the fact that none of the options the game gives you are as good as just dumping all your stats in stronk and using the Guts Sword. I also agree that the class choices suffer a lot from not having starting gear catered to them. The game also doesn't seemed to be structured in a way were you could go grab all the good mind gear if you knew where it was at the start of the game. Maybe the classes are supposed to be difficulty? I also think the elements system seems super tacked on. Like I never once had an instance where I felt like an element powder or spell made a huge impact on a boss fight and the damage boost was never worth leaving myself open to use the powder. That said the game does have really cool spritework, environments, atmosphere, and story. I would play a sequel but they either need to make different play options matter more or just drop them. I think you could literally fix it but just making the spells/guns do more damage or make the weakness damage multiplier higher. I would say Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is a good example of a game where the classes and stat changes actually totally change the way you play each playthrough.
God damn hyped for this game since it's annoucement, looks fantastic, sounds great and those stunning animations... Was waiting for your review which confirms all my toughts about it. The almost perfect mix between Bloodborne, Basphemous and Castlevania Sad to hear that the switch version is so badly optimized, but i'm waiting for the physical release and i'm sure the game will be totally fixed until that. Currently finishing to plat The lords of the Fallen, will start Blasphemous 2 right after I can't wait to get my hands on, hope the physical version won't take a year to come out.
Nice review, some good script in there that gave me a chuckle. The healing system is a bit of a turnoff... what a backwards set up. Anyways, overall seems good.. will shortlist it and sneak it in somewhere next year.
Eh, I don't have an issue with the healing system, I've got over 100 of the main healing pots in surplus. At this point I basically have unlimited pots since even with three or four tries on a particularly challenging boss I won't use anywhere near half my current total stock. There are also some places where they drop a lot and are easy to farm.
just to report, on the ps4, i've gotten 1 crash i would say in the first 3 hours of logged gametime. plus i'm getting that "item hidden behind npcs" thing as well, so i don't think these are switch-only issues.
@@MetroidvaniaGuru that crash i had seemed to be an anomaly, so that's good. during the edwyn fight, sometimes the boss wouldn't trigger so i would have to reload the game because there was no getting out of that empty room - weird. had a bit of slowdown in the ice biome but nothing totally egregious. also playing this game on stargazer is like playing a hard game on hard. i noticed my melee attacks were much diminished compared to other videos i've seen.
Started playing today and I like it a lot and so far haven’t had a single performance issue on PS5 it’s actually pretty smooth and load times are about a second if that…
The constant tech issues are what killed this for me. Every update seemed to break the game in new ways, even this month I had game altering bugs at the end of my playthrough. Imo it definitely affected the momentum the game had in the beginning. Status resistance+defense being that strongly effected by your stats only makes STR that much more unbalanced, since str gives you freeze resist. Having biomes be easier or harder based on your build is interesting, but having a hard area go to unbearable simply because you chose different stats is too much for some people. I don’t know if it’s a translation thing, but Item descriptions and lore are flowery/wordy to the point of paragraph length run-on sentences, impacting their legibility. Don’t get me wrong; the game is fun, and getting all the planned features like NG+ and boss rush would definitely help improve it a ton. Currently the devs are working on getting physical copies to their backers, so after that we’ll see what happens to TLF in the future.
I use the blood sword and the whip as my main weapons for my playthrough And since those weapons scale both dex and mind, i have my mind 50 in the end too. I can tell you one thing, spells still kinda suck in the end with 50 mind You cant cast them much and requires a lot of blues if you rly wanna play a magic build.
I am going to wait to play it even though I have it. I have a couple of kickstarter rewards I didn't get yet. Just funny though that many in the steam reviews have a different opinion then you on combat and the healing system. Many stated that combat is very clunky and not great especially dodge rolls, and on the other hand the appreciate the limited heals because you get too many during the game.
Good commentary that does mimic a lot of my thoughts but... Gotta be completely honest, a lot of the footage being really dull, zero action sequences of some guy playing the DEMO, really does drop the overall video quality here and actively made it hard to watch. Like you're making great points, but to footage of a guy repeatedly using the same altar and trying out the same weapon by attacking a ladder. Rest of the video is top notch, just that minor gripe! 😊
I did end up beating that ice area boss earlier than you're supposed to, after switching my stinky dex weapon for the girthy greatsword, but my god It basically came down to rng, considering he has two claw swipes with identical wind up but one of them being delayed So i constantly ended up taking damage cause i jumped to avoid the quick swipe, only to be hit by the delayed version right as i landed Never really ended up using the reward either
I pretty much agree with everything here. Luckily some of the issues are already being fixed like going into the menu pausing the game and rebalancing of some weapons (like nerfing the op greatsword and buffing spells and guns), as well as a whole lot of bug fixes. Ultimately there isn't really much to complain about, but i will say that the game lacks character imo. I know that's subjective. And i'm not even saying it because it's an obvious rip off of Bloodborne with standard Metroidvania tropes. It just lacks the certain something that sets it apart from its competitors. Salt and Sanctuary was as much as, if not even more off a rip off on Dark Souls and yet it managed reiterate on the formula so well, while understanding what made Dark Souls so great in the first place that it created it's own flair. All while being an excellent metroidvania as well. The other clear inspiration Blasphemous sets itself apart with its unique setting. On paper Blasphemous isn't actually any better than the last faith, hell it might even be worse with less diverse combat and pretty rigid platforming controls. But the whole package still ends up being a much more memorable and unique game.
I mean... far be it from me, but this game is cool and all, but "the bosses being a spectacle" is a bit of a stretch, most of them are not particularly mechanically complex, and have like 4 moves per phase at best, and that frozen area that bamboozled you so much was kinda cool, cuz you could grind a lot of xp early on to idk, buy a fuckton of heals? Cuz, they get more expensive as you beat main bosses... :) Good review otherwise.
It's a side scroller. What are you expecting in terms of boss complexity? NKG is widely regarded as the best boss in Hollow Knight, and he only has like 4 moves.
I suppose what I meant with spectacle was the visuals and the drama. Like the Burnt Apostate. I thought that was a pretty weak boss, but the cutscene beforehand and the dramatics with the second phase, that was pretty cool. That particular fight felt very Bloodborne. Edwyn when you fall mid-fight. Manfredd’s entrance and size. Laddak attacking in the background. And the music was always suitable epic.
I dont mind difficulty, ive played every fromsoft game on pc and a lot of MVs. The problem is when theres too much darn talking from 50 diff npcs about some quest lines I could not be bothered to follow, its an MV not a story game. Oh and cryptic modes of progression. Seriously, why do I have to listen to every verbose dialogue scouring for info on quest. I got stuck multiple times, including the monument thing. Id prefer something like Blasphemous where while its highly verbose, the whole world is yours to explore without any yappin. Played blasphemous 1+2, guacamelee 2 AND aeterna noctis (now afterimage) but never felt the want to pick The Last Faith up again.
massive props for actually addressing the uncanny similarities to blasphemous. it feels like every reviewer who receives a code for this game is performing mental gymnastics to avoid mentioning the b word and instead act like the closest point of similarity is SoTN... maybe castlevania inspired, but definitely blasphemous copied.
Tough to say. I personally think it is because of the Souls-like elements, but if you’re not down with Souls-likes, then you’ll probably like Blasphemous 2 more.
I played this game on PC there was no crash at all it was all smooth . But sa father of a new born sometimes wifey needs my help and it was all frustrating to leave yourself into the open and sometimes get back and see yourself at the alter which means yes I was killed ... WTH devs... But my worse experience was the input delay that causes death in almost every room that has a falling pit..
I have a real issue with calling this a metroidvania, it's a soulslike through and through. This for me felt like playing DS1 again, with the grinding for souls and items. The platforming aspect is not as important, not on the scale of Blasphemous 2. So why people insist on calling this a metroidvania, when it is clearly so heavily inspired by Souls game, and Bloodborne in particular is just beyond me.
Of course, you can have your opinion. Just be aware that the “people who insist on calling this a Metroidvania” are the same people who created the game. Check the game’s official website. So, if you wanna tell the developer Kumi Souls Games what their own game is, feel free. I’m cool with calling it a Soulsvania, a Souls-like Metroidvania. I know some people don’t like that term, but I feel it’s apt.
I wish after the second time you used the stinky foghorn noise, you used it a third time, but just right in the middle of a word, with no respect paid to naturally segueing into the noise itself for a punchline. Like, "Thankfully, there are multip- *BRRRRRRUUUHHHHHNNN*" [Screen Displays Default Sword Again, Followed by You Mechanically Moving to the Next Segment]
So some people say performance on switch is good, not perfect. Some say it is a shame. I only got my switch lite, and so intressed in this one. But i want a fairly smooth game
OHHH BOYYYEEEEEE! YO MAN, THE REVIEW THAT I HAD BEEN EXPECTING FROM YOU BECAUSE YOU SPECIALIZE IN METROIDVANIA GAMES! Thanks for this! To me, I rate this game better than Hollow Knight! This is like a fusion of Castlevania and Souls-Like Genre!
I saw 5 minutes of the video and I alredyt want to play the game. This seems much much better than blasphemous 1. God i hated blasphemous 1 . The entire lack of mobility limited combos and only 1 weapons sucked
Let me say that I really liked your review. I agree with most of what you spoke of. While the game overall if a solid 6/ 10. The execution was not done well. The character selection and starting stats are pointless, as leveling up gained no bonuses to your beginning choice and it doesn’t change your characters look or story. The weapons while plentiful, didn’t do as much damage as the Two Handed large sword after all of the leveling. So most of the time I used it in all my encounters. Also why have restrictions stats for them if I can still use all regardless. The lack of pausing the action while navigating the menu was dumb. I barely read the documents that explained the thin lore, barely glossed the descriptions of items and the stat skills my weapons carried. When it came to preparing for battle I just used healing items, as everything else was pointless. I liked how there were attributes that affected your character but leveling up to me did little to the damage you took and dished out.
The game is great has potential to be huge like Blasphemous but it needs 1 more year. The game is 6/10 The game has no identity like 70% similar to bloodborne. - The weapons r cool but dont have many, early game u have like 4 then u have to carry all the way to mid game to have better weapons that is why ppl tend to max greatsword. - Guns and spells r useless n under-developed. Eryk is slow at everything and spells r just not useful and dont have many spells. - build character is just strength. The developers r just too obsess with str build. What if i want to play as gun and spell? The game literally has variety on paper. - cost upgrade is just too much and they neft they endgame weapons in 1.5 ver, Why? - dont have cosmetic, trust me variety skins and cosmetics r something u dont think u need one until u dont have one - lore is great, rich but in the game its too many plot hole and many things that doesnt explain. U may say the game is 7 but it is just 6 to me and i do enjoy the game
Its called "search action" No one seriously active in the making of these games would use the outdated term "metroidvania" because that would be copyright infringement. So why use a term and base your entire channel name on a term that will never be accepted by the actual creators of search action games, because THEY CAN'T LEGALLY call them "metroidvania" ? Bonkers. Just boom head explode when the term is used, fine, babies can use the term that industry will never use, thats their prerogative. But to name your entire channel based on a generic-ass term like that, a term that will have no meaning (except to hipsters) to the actual game-making industry, that makes my head explode. Great job.
There's a lot of stuff that's gonna be added down the line (Kickstarter rewards), so I think the game is gonna get a lot better.
@@MetroidvaniaGuru Yes I'm waiting for some patches and dlc. I think this fantastic game only gets better.
I've been using the same sword and now I know it has a charged attack.
Good game I rate it 7/10
My problems are :
. Healing grinding
. Weapons scaling making no sense and weapons upgrades being too expensive and both made worse by the other
. There is an unnecessary delay on every input especially the jump button that ruined platforming for me and caused me many deaths
. Insta death falls which made worse by the controls delay
I agree with you about the lack of a pause button you can tell the devs were copying blindly when they don't even know why certain mechanics exist I a fromsoftware game, the lack of a pause button is because of the online mode ( this game doesn't have an online mode) and from being too lazy to implement a true offline mode and the proof being both Sekiro and armored core have pause button
Agree with you on the lack of a true class choice
Send nurse to mansion... Everytime I rank up I buy heal item with rest of the souls...
I am so tired of the "Go find all 50 fetuses scattered throughout the world" trope. At least have an item that marks their location on the map like in Hollow Knight
And you have to beat a naked boss to get the tracker
I love this game, I just finished my 3rd run and got my time down to a sub 6h.. 50str 50mind is my fav build so far
Another Quality Review. Always insightful, articulate and entertaining! 👍
Great review as always. I'm definitely gonna be checking this out.
The devs have patched the game so the classes start with different weapons now
Love the game. It's the most dark-souls like from non-From game you can get.
* Exploration.
The number of healing injections can be increased by finding upgrades for it.
Just found this video and been playing heavily for the past two weeks, I did notice respec is available later on once you complete a side quest.
They fixed alot of the bad things like pausing, respec (cost 10k), icons for npc and side quests and ur currency, fixed dead ends also.
That’s awesome! I plan on replaying it when the collector’s edition comes out. Should be this month 🤞

@@alexstrafkos2394 yeah honestly bugs like that don’t hurt the game I see no reason to fix stuff like that outside of a comp or pvp type game.
Keep up the great work!!🎉
My experience on the game was kinda lukewarm, however bosses were amazing. Had a great time with them
Great review. Love your edits 😂
Thank you! 😁
Yes Aldrich had a quest. Think you eventually get a dried liver after the end of his quest. You have to give livers to the old woman in the mansion also.
I ended up getting all the dried livers. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention 😆
I'm loving your analysis. I would like you to analyze Odallus: The Dark Call and Record of Lodoss War.
Are you talking about Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth when you say Record of Lodoss War? That's a fun game, although IMO not top tier.
Thanks! I plan on getting to both of those, especially Record of Lodoss War. That game's pretty sweet.
The nycrux hearts give a big boost to health/focus/power
Really? I had no idea. Thanks for letting me know. I really need to replay it
I had the same issue with the ring in the city, but actually, that monument gives you a hint that you're supposed to come back here with the ring. In my case, I had read it before, but then totally forgot about it by the time I had the ring :D
Good review, and I’ll definitely be getting this game, but only when it’s out physically and on PS5. Oh and play La Mulana
Any idea if the switch version has been improved?? Like you I rather my mv’s on switch 😅
Hi, still those frame drops?
Yeah, I missed it at first. After a patch, they even show you the grave after getting the ring.
Have you heard of deaths gambit? It's another good soulsvania, and it's also on the switch. Plus, since it's at the end of the update cycle, it runs way smoother.
Death’s Gambit: Afterlife is an amazing game.
I love Blasphemous 1+2 & Deaths Gambit Afterlife is a huge improvement that makes the game really great imo.. 👍

Thanks MV Guru. Have my eye on this one but probably will wait until some patches & physical release on the switch next year. Great review 💯
@@MetroidvaniaGuru fair enough!

I’d like to play the completed, patched version first, but if the picker picks it, the dude must oblige.
Belongs into broken tier. At leat on Switch.
This is the way
This is the way
After installing the patch, I now also see some strange text on the bottom right side of the screen. And really takes me out of the experience for some reason.
I had hoped this game would have many of its issues fixed before purchasing. I see it did get some patch support but it doesn’t seem like it went far enough to make the game a must play
Absolutely loved this game!!!
Agreed. But at the end of the day, I had a lot of fun with it.
@@MetroidvaniaGuru oh hell yeah I’m definitely following this team - especially being an indie

@@YEAH-YEAH-YEAH-YEAH-YEAH
I was mainly referring to Blasphemous 2 since they made some great improvements to their combat and I had just finished that game before starting Last Faith-but you CAN cast in air and use the different “weapon arts” not all prayers but a-lot of them you can.

Hv a nice one bud 👍🏼
Will be buying this on ps4 when im sure its not brocken and plays ok
Smart move. Once this game is balanced and patched, it's gonna be pretty awesome.
The almost perfect mix between Bloodborne, Basphemous and Castlevania
Sad to hear that the switch version is so badly optimized, but i'm waiting for the physical release and i'm sure the game will be totally fixed until that.
Currently finishing to plat The lords of the Fallen, will start Blasphemous 2 right after
I can't wait to get my hands on, hope the physical version won't take a year to come out.
Same. I’d love a physical of this game
Since when is "unlimited healing" a MUST for a Metroidvania?
Earned a sub
Glad you’re here 😊
Nice review, some good script in there that gave me a chuckle.
Boo. I hope the devs iron it out soon. The game’s good and needs to be the best it can be.
Started playing today and I like it a lot and so far haven’t had a single performance issue on PS5 it’s actually pretty smooth and load times are about a second if that…
Totes jelly 😆
Would be truly embarrassing if the PS5 was struggling. Heck, the fact that it runs like ass on the Switch is still plenty embarrassing.
I bought this on switch and have been waiting on a patch since launch to actually be able to play it...... Hopefully it's not a Souldiers situation.
I use the blood sword and the whip as my main weapons for my playthrough
And since those weapons scale both dex and mind, i have my mind 50 in the end too.
I can tell you one thing, spells still kinda suck in the end with 50 mind
You cant cast them much and requires a lot of blues if you rly wanna play a magic build.
To reach their own, I guess 😆
Good commentary that does mimic a lot of my thoughts but... Gotta be completely honest, a lot of the footage being really dull, zero action sequences of some guy playing the DEMO, really does drop the overall video quality here and actively made it hard to watch.
Like you're making great points, but to footage of a guy repeatedly using the same altar and trying out the same weapon by attacking a ladder. Rest of the video is top notch, just that minor gripe! 😊
I did end up beating that ice area boss earlier than you're supposed to, after switching my stinky dex weapon for the girthy greatsword, but my god
It basically came down to rng, considering he has two claw swipes with identical wind up but one of them being delayed
So i constantly ended up taking damage cause i jumped to avoid the quick swipe, only to be hit by the delayed version right as i landed
Never really ended up using the reward either
Yup. That delayed swipe SUUUUUUCKED
Heart of nycrux increases focus and health
Really? Thanks for letting me know! Is this explained in the game or did you figure it out yourself?
@@Ohmagawdjr play blasphemous 2 please. :)

Hi is the frame rate on switch still a problem?

The game is 6/10
The game has no identity like 70% similar to bloodborne.
- dont have cosmetic, trust me variety skins and cosmetics r something u dont think u need one until u dont have one
- lore is great, rich but in the game its too many plot hole and many things that doesnt explain.
U may say the game is 7 but it is just 6 to me and i do enjoy the game
That was fast.
Really? It took me 22 hours. Some people are beating the game in under 8 😆
I really liked the game. I think I knocked it out in 3 or 4 days.
I really wanted to hear your opinion coz art looks stale as f and critic average not that i trust it is kinda meh.
Its called "search action"
No one seriously active in the making of these games would use the outdated term "metroidvania" because that would be copyright infringement.
Great job. I need to clean my ceiling now. 🦆💨

Do not buy this game on the switch let's just say you will be playing on hardcore with all the
Game lagging issues left a sour test in my mouth 1/ out of 10
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 garbage
Currently my struggle right now. Frames drop, heavy lag, button delay maybe, man it’s irritating.
It's difficult to injoy with so many problems
i made mistake i didnt believe reviewers, but people.i love blasphemous, hollow knight, espacialy grime.definitely not ender lilies and this game is even worse than lilies.
Oh, wow. That’s surprising. I love every single game you mentioned. I’m sorry you don’t like Ender Lilies and The Last Faith. I think those games are fantastic.
Vapid analysis
I always appreciate solid feedback on how I can improve. Comments like these aren’t very helpful and are, ironically, vapid.
