I'm working on my first build. I already blew out the 5v BEC and had to hook up an external 5v regulator. Today, I will be working on my elrs receiver so this video is good timing
It's not a bind button it's a boot button! 😅 I wish the pogopin part on these adapters had a built in push-push power switch in them so I could get it all lined up before I applied power. This was a great description of all the things you need to know, and what problems you'll run into. Perfect!
I have been doing this with a few different Serial-USB adapters and it worked with all of them. The best one is the Arduino, which I also use to play in simulators
Man! I have the one from BetaFPV. I didn't know i could've pre-flashed all of my RX's beforehand. Could've had em all ready to go while waiting on other parts. Thanks JB! I'll def be using this in the future.
My Foxeer receiver stopped working after I tried to update to elrs 3.4 with betaflight pass through method. The led on receiver went off. I think this is something else other than bricking. Does this method work also for my receiver? Did anyone have an issue like that?😮 Yeses. I saved my receiver. Thanks again @JoshuaBardwell 👍
Joshua I wanted to buy "Beginner DIY FPV Drone Kit - QAV-S 2 Joshua Bardwell SE 5” - Analog" kit every time I went to check it for buying it says out of stock
❓Happymodel ELRS Rx - double blinks: short and a bit longer (the blinking code isn't mentioned in the ELRS Wiki) (I can flash it but the problem stays - doesn't connect to my radio)
Please help me I delet my radiomaster boxer elrs sd card and now I'm facing problem how to fix this problem and how will I get sd card file for radiomaster boxer elrs
You didn't need the pogo pins at all, you also didn't need to solder it. Just needed a pin strip and you just tension it against the pads on the receiver. At my workplace we literally use this technique during development and even on production (tho the products have normal holes not castellated edge). Works 99.9% of the time. The drivers even for obscure chinese USB-UART adapters are most of the time installed automagically by windows so you shouldn't need to download the drivers separately.
You definitely don't need telemetry off FYI. Once passthrough is enabled all other BF functions aren't running (it's an infinite loop that only processes the data for the passthrough), the only way to exit is to turn FC power off and on again.
You might need telemetry off because the configurator will try to automatically activate passthrough mode without you having to go to the CLI. And for that to work, the configurator needs 2-way communication with the FC.
Pro tip: if you use test clips instead of pogo pins you don't have to hold them while flashing. That's how I used to flash my R9 receivers before soldering them to the FC..
Your videos are helping a lot. Once my parts come in and I get it built any chance I could get you to meet up in the area by “the duck pond” to test it out lol.
i'm retiring my dji rc and ordered a boxer, and like a little devil out of a box JB. makes this vid. every time a bullseye with this guy. Amazing! tnx JB.
Instead of pogo pins I wish there was an adapter you could just slide the RX into like a SD card reader and have the freedom to do more.

Thanks for keeping us updated on this hobby. Hey they don't have to watch the video on elrs...................
Thanks Joshua Bardwell, you made my start into fpv possible, otherwise i wont get anything done :D

Well, now it kinda is right?

Thanks a bunch for the tutorial, Joshua! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

When are you going to post the video about full setup on iNav on your chimera7? I’m looking forward to that!

So what's the secret to keeping the fun-tak clean and not end up a blob stuck in a plastic drawer? Also, do you have issues with it sticking to parts?
Expresslrs... because I learned something one day.
Wish more gear was able to be unbricked that easy
Please help me I delet my radiomaster boxer elrs sd card and now I'm facing problem how to fix this problem and how will I get sd card file for radiomaster boxer elrs

That's actually insanely good info. Thank you
I solder a wire to bridge them, then cut the wire. now I dont have to hold anything and can just tape them up for use later.
For some reason elrs configurator wont load only getting white page anyone know?

Thats the Blue stuff holding the RX Called? Just play dough? 🙂

I talk in this video about why I dislike test clips for this purpose.
👏👏👏
I put mine on a shelf for 2 months and gave up on fpv. When i decided to try again it was unbricked
Yesss
Never bricked a receiver, but to be safe, I write a comment here whether I will come back years later :D
Pls reply
Are you gonna review the 2207 aos supernova?

Joshua I want to bye it because it is the one diy kit at low price
C-3PO say huh lol 😂
You are the reason most of us can fly!!
has anyone an idea what the humongus quad in the lower left corner of bardwell in the intro is?
Maybe use your Bambu to print a clip to hold the test pins :)
As a non-ELRS user, we watch to the end because its good for your metrics!
Oh, another video about something to do with ELRS
Yayyy! The most popular control link in use today is getting the attention it deserves!
Well said 👏
@@JoshuaBardwell I only typed exactly what you said in the video at 8:36 😀
I use ELRS exclusively. Thanks for the vid...

All I use is elrs
If using a FTDI do you need to download the USB to UART driver for the COM port to appear?
You need whatever driver is correct for your FTDI adapter.
