Everyone stop panicking... There's no Stelena reunion. Do you honestly think they would give away something such a bombshell in the promo? No. It's clearly Stefan and Elena joking around.
And on the third viewing, I've realised that the 'engagement' ring Stefan is holding is actually Elena's daylight ring, so everyone calm the f down.

1. MY STEROLINE FEELS. To the people saying he's being a dick to Caroline, I'll admit it, he is but it's because he cares about her and his goal right now is to be numbed, he doesn't want to feel anything and she makes him feel, it's so clear, his face before he walks away is one of determination to stay feeling deadened not one of complete disinterest; his look of complete disinterest was for Elena. He looked so unbothered by her in the car when she's babbling about how they used to date, he had such a "yeah yeah, whatever" mentality, it's the greatest. And even though Caroline said she "did" have feelings for Stefan, it's clear that she does; they're soooooo in play and it's the most excited I've been watching TVD since season 4.
2. Um how awesome is it that the thought of Damon dying is what triggered Bonnie's magic? They're adorable. I don't usually like Damon but when he said "You think I have a bad temper with her? I LIKE HER" it made me smile and Kai's "I guess that's just how you two show your love" the best.
3. Won't lie, Kai is kind of hot. Like physically he's cute but his sort of quirky/geeky witty humour makes him hot to me, I dunno, whatever, I'm just not always here for the Enzos of the world (although despite me hating Enzo, he is hot).
4. I'm still kind of irritated that neither Bonnie nor Damon asked Kai HOW he knew all of this information but that could be next week, so.
ikr, kai is such a cutie, i'm loving the bamon bonding moments and i love stefan and elena joking and goofing around i hope... hey who knows if bonnie and damon do come back i'm sensing some sparks between her and kai, hell bonnie has chemistry w/everyone and stefan is just leaving room 4 carenzo, it would b nice 2 c stefan get jealous as her and enzo get closer just saying.lol..:)
Wonder how this episode is going to go down. Why are they even talking about Stelena as an item? Makes no sense to me. It's just boring season 1 again.

When you watch a show for so long, it's quite common for people to keep watching it because it's basically tradition now. The views for the Season six premiere is almost a million less then season 5. To make it worse, the amount of views for episode 2 of this season, is actually even less then the first episode. That means, more people are starting to not bother with it and that's a bad thing for the show.
Obviously Julie Plec doesn't know what she's doing at all. They're running out of ideas it seems.

The ratings are "certain" live watches in the US, (which in itself is very unfair considering the show is big in many places around the world) considering how easy and popular it has become to watch the show in any way online, through netstreaming sites like netflix, or the hundreds of webpages, or buying through Itunes. I think it's a bit naive to completely focus on those numbers anymore. The numbers may look bad there but it is still one of CW's most popular shows and one of those that gains the most attention online. No to mention the awards Ian, Nina and Paul have won because of there characters which also is publicity for the show. But to be fair, the writing in S5 was a mess. It's looking better in this season though.
***** The "certain" live watches matter very much. That's the majority of casual viewers watching it right there and when they go down THAT much, that's a problem. Throughout this show, it has really never gone below a 2.000...until season 5 and it's staying below that even in season 6.
Lets face it, this show has been getting more pathetic. I mean, they're trying to create two more love triangles in this season. Bonnie, Damon and Elena. Stefan, Caroline and Enzo.
Why? Because they're probably lacking any sort of writing material. Their ideas are starting to run out.

If they mattered that much TVD would already be canceled. There are simply new times and like I said so much else is showing TVD's popularity. They said they have enough material for at least 7 seasons. And despite a slow start this season is really picking up. Last Season Julie left Dries in charge to focus on The Originals and took several TVD writers with her which is part of the reason why it was a mess and I believe she's learned from that and is giving TVD more focus this season.
***** The TV series Heroes went on for years after the views started to go down dramatically.
This show won't be cancelled so soon considering how old it is. But the views DO matter because that's how the show makes the majority of their money.

last ep was boring!! and even though SE are joking around in this promo, it just reminded me how boring their relationship was lol and Elena was super duper annoying in last ep, i get why Caroline was annoyed, and Stefan was a douche to caroline last ep, made me hate him more!! PLEASE BRING DAMON AND BONNIE BACK ALREADY!!

Too many ppl complained about season 5 and now they're trying to be like season one again. They're successful. BUt I lOVED parts of season 5! It was deep and rich and they constantly tried to outdo themselves.. I do miss that. These new characters, finding their way.. I dunno. I still love this show but.. I bet in 10 yrs fans will shake their heads saying how amazing season 5 actually was and as a footnote they'll say that at the time ppl complained A LOT. Cuz this is a bit tame in comparison and I'm not as INVOLVED.. in all the drama. This isn't keeping me on the edge of my seat and crying anymore. Ah well, I just hope there's a season 7... and son on.. THAT WOULD be so cool. I really want all the actors to sign.
They keep on trying to focus around love triangles so much that it's become pointless. The Originals is made by pretty much the same people, and that show is actually interesting to watch. Vampire Diaries is recycling ideas such as the whole whiny Elena thing.

Vampire Diaries is very predictable lately. It's always about Elena Gilbert and how she's always depressed about something. They attempt to make you feel bad for her, but then she commits mass murder by killing Kol...all sympathy gone.

I actually don't mind the new season too much so far... I think that it takes a new refreshing change of pace from the mess of the last one and a half seasons. All you freaking TVD fans don't know shit. This show has gone down since the originals left. Add the fact of Damon and Elena with their "lovey dovey" shit to "oh no we are breaking up" and then "get back together" an episode later, this show is just one giant hangover. Not a shipper to Stefan and Elena, but the show was much better when they were together. SE didn't cry over each other as much as DE. There was less drama between them and more outside forces trying to fuck shit up with the town.
Don't save the stupid relationships. Save the actual storyline of this show. And don't kill off villains just for shits and giggles. You need another Klaus to keep them on edge. Silas was that person, but they watered it down by having that "love with doppelgänger" aspect and then "oh I want to die to be with the woman I love, I don't want to mess with anyone"
I just hope The Originals doesn't fall in that. It almost feels like it when you see the relations between Haley (Elena) Klaus (Damon) and Elijah (Stefan). And then the Twilight-y feels as well with the baby and Haley being a hybrid. And then getting rid of those werewolves with the moonlight rings and their leader Francesca within two episodes (season 1 finale - season 2 premiere - really? That big of a threat with Esther and you just get rid of them that easily?)
TL;DR: They have really watered down serious plot lines that could have taken both shows further, and ended some way too quickly. Stop doing that please. Thats more important than getting DE back together, or even SE. Or any relationships.
