To me it feels like Metallica came this show just to prove everyone why they are the greatest metal band of all time.
They sounded pretty good during 2007/2008.. ^^
Yeah they were getting pumped for the new album release. Transitioning from the high-mid range st anger sound to the death magnetic sound.

yesterday i was watching lord of the rings and aragorn said: "behind the walls of mordor there are 10.000 orcs" and i was like "Lol let em fight against the audience of rock am ring" xDD
@RangerRedZero It was... I was there... took nearly 40 minutes to get out of there when they finished playing, just joined the massive stream of people walking back to the camping grounds :)
They played for like 2hrs too, was awesome.

@gutiole a day later they played at rock im park in nürnberg. every time they play at the rock am ring/rock im park festivals they dont get it with the names^^ nürnburgring and nürnberg sounds very similar

I think he meant the open D on the E string. Since the song is tuned down a whole step it goes from E to D. I dont think he meant open D tuning.

Nah they play Sad But True and Seek And Destroy in D standard. All the other songs like Master Of Puppets, Creeping Death and all the other songs that they used to play in standard they now play those half a step down.

@math101a Some guy asked james in a meet greet as to why they play it in D! And james said they just wanted to heavy up the song. Can't remember which meet and greet it was though as there's quite a few metallica meet and greets up on YT.
