    This is an accurate test but please be warned this test can damage a stone so please understand that you can cause permanent damage.
    What is turquoise hardness? Hardness is basically scratch ability or the ability for a stone to be scratched. The harder the stone the more valuable it is.

    Ok so I probably have a turquoise stone but stabilized. It looked just like your low quality stone when I scratch with some small scissors.

    So the method of testing turquoise is to scratch the stone with a variety of metal tools until you screw up at least one side of the stone.....ok....got it!
