1971 R611F Truck of the Month December 2022

This 1971 R-611F was purchased by Hempfield Township VFC #4 to protect the town of Bovard, PA and the surrounding communities. Bovard, a company town built for the families that worked the Crow's Nest coal mine, was extremely proud of their R-model. The versatile Mack was able to traverse many obstacles in the area including a small tunnel on Crow's Nest Road which passes under the railroad on the south side of town. When the time came to retire their trusted Mack, they agreed that the Mack Museum would be its new home. In October 2022, Fire Chief Greg Saunders drove the truck across Pennsylvania to Allentown, PA, for its homecoming. We are grateful to the members of the Hempfield VFC #4 for entrusting the Mack Museum with this beautiful Mack pumper.
