He screwed up though on the part about "snails not being found in saltwater because salt kills snails" As there are many different sea snail species that are found in saltwater/marine environments, just that Schistosoma larvae can only infect freshwater snails as intermediate hosts.
@physeo-USMLE "Snails do not live in saltwater because salt kills snails" Well, first of all, I must say that statement of your about "snails not being in saltwater" kind of undermines your credibility, as it's totally incorrect and it couldn't be any further from the truth, as there are many different gastropod Molluscs species which are adapted for various different environments, ie. terrestrial, freshwater, aswell as also saltwater/marine environments. Lots of various different species of marine/saltwater snails do obviously exist e.g such as Conches, Whelks, Periwinkles, "Conesnails" (which depending on prey either on other seasnails, or even fish) "Triton's trumpet" (a very large predatory sea snail which feeds on the "Crown of thorns" seastar) etcetera, and that's just to name a few...there are near countless examples of snails which live in Saltwater, in fact there's a type of very rare purple dye pigment which historically was produced/obtained by killing a certain type of sea snail. In the cartoon, SpongeBob himself is depicted as having a sea snail named 'gary' as a pet, where do you think the inspiration for that had came from, if "snails aren't be found in saltwater?" you could've just said that the Schistosoma Larvae live in freshwater, and therefore can only infect freshwater aquatic snail species.
