Thank you for pointing out that I need to drag the page rather than the journal entry in Foundry v10. I nearly stopped using the module because I couldn't figure out why the page navigation always appears. You are a lifesaver!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m so glad that I can help you on your Foundry journey! I actually have a Pathfinder Beginner Box campaign that is open for anyone to join: bit.ly/DNEPF2eStarterBox
Oh this is fantastic. I got into foundry a few months back and started with v10. I tried to use GMscreen but was sad to find out it didnt work, probably my biggest disappointment when starting with foundry haha. I'm so glad I can use it now, it seems SO organized and I wont have to keep alt-tabbing haha.
Hey great looking module! New to FoundryVTT, where do you save your GM screen images in FVTT? Seems like there are several places the GM screen can pull from, but I'm not sure which is most ideal. Thanks!
Everything used in the GM Screen cells are Journal Pages. So what you would want to do is create a Journal Entry, then create a Journal Page and choose an image for it's type, add the image to the Journal Page, and then drag the Journal Page onto the GM Screen cell.
Thanks for sharing! This seems like a great module. Where are the cheat sheet table images from? Are they available somewhere? They look like a nice fit for the module.
@@DiceAndEasy How do you make the images to take the full width? Even on single row and column tabs, the image takes roughly 1/3 of the available space.
For me the image fills the whole GM screen if I do one of the following: 1. Create a new tab with a row and column override set to 1 2. Create a new tab with default values, drag and drop the image into one of the cells, change the cell rows to 3 and columns to 4 If that doesn't work then it might be a bug with the module. Unless you are talking about the Journal Pages aligning to the bottom of the cell which is an issue I'm aware of and have reported to the developers.
Thanks for the kind words! You can create a Journal Entry and in it create Journal Page with the PDF type. Add your PDF file to the Journal Page and then drag and drop the page into the DM Screen cell of choice. If you want a tutorial on PDF files in Foundry in general, I have a tutorial on that including a useful module for PDF: ruclips.net/video/u5THCH088pk/видео.html
I'm wondering if there is a way to create macros to open and close the gm screen rather than have to use the mouse. Bonus points if it can be done to open specific tabs. Anyone can help here?
I installed it , but looks like most recent is 3.0.1 (over a year ago) - that accurate? Also the GM Screen button disappeared... any idea how i get that back?
@@apex403 yeah thah’s the right one. If you’re on Foundry V12, it might be that GM Screeb doesn’t work properly with it. I haven’t thoroughly tested it with v12 so not sure.
@@RedJamaX1 if you’re on v10 or v11 you create a Journal Entry and then a Journal Page which is an image and put the image there. Then just drag and drop it in the desired cell. Is there no pop-out screen. I would only use this if I could drag it to another monitor. Otherwise I might as well use my other monitor and a 3rd party tool.
Unfortunately GM screen does not have a popout functionality. There is another module called PopOut! That allows you to pop out things in Foundry into separate windows but I don’t know if it works with GM Screen.
Actually I was wrong on this! If you go to GM Screen settings, there is a setting called "Display as Drawer". Turn that off and it will change GM Screen into a pop out dialog.
Such is the nature of a piece of software with an active modding community behind it. However, v11 will probably not be out before end of Summer/early Autumn so there’s time to enjoy this module.
This actually gave me the idea to try GM Screen in the current development build of v11, and I can say that it works well! In my quick test I didn't bump into any issues that aren't already there with v10.
oh this is a good thing, I'd been following the github for a while but it seemed to go quiet and I gave up hope. I also like that it pc screens, I hope it still supports all game systems as it used to.
The original dev stopped working on this but some other people luckily took on the task of fixing it for v10. I can't speak to the support of all the game systems since I've only tested it on DnD 5e.
Thank you for pointing out that I need to drag the page rather than the journal entry in Foundry v10. I nearly stopped using the module because I couldn't figure out why the page navigation always appears.

Hell yeah! I've been waiting for v10 support for so long.
Thanks for the quick rundown on what you like putting on your screen.

Im new to foundry, I cant figure out how to actually import outside source items into the gm screen mod.
WHat do you mean by "outside source items"?
its not showing up in version 12
Is it possible to use popout with this? I have 2 monitors and it would be so useful to have this in another window.

I have shared a player cheat sheet in 5e but some players get the notification they do not have permission to view. Any idea what is going on here?
They do not have permission to view the Journal Entry. Make sure that they have permissions set in the Journal Entry itself.
I like it for rule reminder but for adventure notes etc, id rather use "Notion".
Totally get it. Notion is great!
Does it still work in v12? I would love to be able to use it, but am in early stages of setup
I haven't tested it extensively in v12 so I'm not sure
