Wow I didn't realise the GWR had so much variety back then! Cool to see the mixture of old vs new stock! The HSTs and class 332s will be greatly missed.
Yep! This is one of my favourites because it shows the new and old in use, side by side. Transitional periods are some of the most interesting to me as it allows some lines which have no variety at all to be interesting!
I live on the GWML and this transitional era was the best time, so much variety and was pretty awesome! I am hanwell based and loved this era, now its a bit bland :/
I really regret not spending more time on the GWML during the transition and I only have this to show for it! Some other RUclipsrs like KTVideos and Tornado922 really took advantage of it. Bland I think is the right word!
@@StarlifeStudios It's a shame they have gone now, but i do love the Class 800's, travelled on one for the first time recently and it was a fantastic experience (i filmed the journey too). In my local area too, the class 158's have now been mostly replaced by 165/166 turbos, this is good though as we also used to get 150's which were rusting tin cans on wheels lol.
@@VermilionStudios Yes I did have a quick look at your channel to see what types of rolling stock you were into and I saw the IET trip you did! I don't live in the west so I rarely get to travel on them in general. I'm hoping to catch up with some of the smaller HSTs around Dawlish/Plymouth soon.
Haha! Unfortunately the UK railway gets a bad reputation for being late. On my trains at Nuneaton video there is a freight train that is 391 minutes late - over 6 Hours!
This was 'back in the day' when HSTs were pretty much common across all of GWR. As for why this HST was on the slows to Reading - I'm not sure, maybe its something to do with all the wheel flats?
Can someone do a class 313 TFL RAIL Service from London Paddington-Slough? fast service Calling at Slough only or go to Hayes and Harlington Calling slough, reading and Hayes and Harlington or a service to reading calling at slough or reading or if on any of them you can stop at and any stations on the list I got but only the stations and three of those services but remember do it any way but don't go too crazy with the dests only my list oppisite way as well you can do any on the list

Ah yes HST sets out of Paddington
This is my favourite video you uploaded.
RIP HSTs, you will be greatly missed.
Castle class: lol I’m never gone
Great footage
Thanks! Glad you liked it 🙂

Thank you for watching Vermilion Studios, I'm Glad you enjoyed it. I've made a few other GWR videos more recently although the HSTs are gone :(

@@StarlifeStudios Dawlish is great, love walking along the seafront and seeing the trains pass by.
0:09 that HST don't sound right
yeah need's to go to the scrap yard
Before Crossrail went to reading or to Shenfield/abbey wood. It just was like a regular commuter service as it still terminated in paddington
Back in the old days.. with the HSTs ;)
@@StarlifeStudios I think the HST's will be used on heritage railways now, but grand-central and maybe Hull trains are using them still aren't they?
@@StarlifeStudios And I just realised for a brief time then I thought crossrail opened the same day TFL took over service to reading
Also, the 332s :(
Amazing HST Trains
Plz come here again!
Soon to see the 387s running on the fast lines and being excluded from the Slow crossrail lines
The Great Western Mainline certainly has changed over the last 3 years.. as you said Lubdhak, it’s not over yet. I’ll be back at Reading soon!
When a train is too early 10% Slower" 😃
Why are most of the trains late? Was their an incident up the line?
3:31 the commuter’s worst nightmare
How are the class 165/166 units the communiter's worst nightmare?
@@maimadha it’s because it’s a 2 car from Oxford which is one of the most commuting cities to london

why is it that they all have that low pitched traction noise that doesent come from the actual motor itself.

Those 345s can definitely shift!
They certainly can! It came as a surprise to me that some 345s are Elizabeth Line branded.
@@StarlifeStudios a video on the Elizabeth Line will be great
I feel sorry for acton main line, barely gets any services nowadays
It’s now a-wash with only non-stop 387s, 345s and 80xs. The once variety filled station is unlikely to ever get back it’s stopping frequency.

GWR services between Paddington and Oxford make stops at Reading and Slough between Paddington and Oxford
Everything runs late....
This was a particularly bad week for the GWML. Shortly after this there were delays due to damaged OLE wiring.
It wasnt great. However that GWR Class 166 to Reading Traincare Depot was running 14 mins early!!!!
