🚄 INFORMATION KEY
Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more
➤ en.wikipedia.o...
Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more
➤ en.wikipedia.o...
Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.
🚄 ABOUT ME
Hello everyone, I’m StarlifeStudios and my passion is to experience and video railway stations across the United Kingdom at both small and large locations, but, with an informative twist! My videos are also designed as a historical reference for the days of the past and to reminisce about the way things were. Join me as I continue to travel and be sure to let me know if you’d like me to video at your favourite or local station.
Which Electrostar variant is your favorite?
387
377 always
Probably class 387 due to its 110 mph speed
379 and 377
357 of course
I used to think Electrostars were hideous ol' yokes but I think they've grown on me -- good video!
There is far worse rolling stock types now! The original 377s are one of my favourites. Thanks for your kind comments 👍🏻
One of my routes was recently changed from a 700 to a 387, an upgrade IMO!
The noise of the track (or whatever is) is so satisfying.
The bounce of the trains at the other side of the platform is insane, looks rough!
It certainly is a great sound! The grinding and clicking (like at 11:28 ) is the third rail shoe impacting the third rail as a new section starts. You can see the sparks when this occurs. As for the rough ride, I believe the whole of this line is quite rough 😃 Thanks iiComment13
@@StarlifeStudioscorrect. Keymer Jn (just after this station) is quite a rough ride
nice catch with the class 59
Thanks Alice 😃👍🏻
Last time I went Littlehampton was 2 years ago
I’m an Aussie and i have never seen so frequent amount of trains in my life. You could literally see 2 trains on the same track. Was it morning peak or something? Nice video :)
Hello Ovallino, there was a little bit of downtime between clips but there was something every 5 minutes (at least). This wasn't even peak time and it perfectly explains why delays can be so painful for other services. Thanks for watching 👍
The regular off-peak service at Wivelsfield is a southern service once every half an hour to London Victoria one way and to Eastbourne (every other train continuing to Ore) and separately a Thameslink train every half an hour between Brighton and Bedford through the Thameslink core. Plus, there are 4 more trains an hour each way that express through, so 16 trains pass through per hour, averaging one every 4 minutes thereabouts. It's at the junction between the mainline to Brighton and the line to Lewes, Eastbourne and Hastings, so that's why it's such a busy line
👍
@@grassytramtracks I think at the time the Eastbourne service was at half hourly intervals, alternates continuing to Ore. So that makes 9 each direction. 4 TL to Brighton, 2 SN to Brighton, 2 SN to Eastbourne, 1 SN to Littlehampton. Plus there's the additional ECS and freight moves of course
9:53 this is such a cool shot
I thought it was pretty cool too. A really nice station overall. You can even see through the tunnel to see Haywards Heath station in the northern direction. I couldn't complain about it at all! 😃
I've been through Wivlesfield on my to Eastbourne earlier this month
Southern are my favourite trains
Finally, the coverage and recognition Wivelsfield deserves. It's my local station!
Awesome stuff! Great to see the 59 at the end!
Great video! I suggest filming at Eastleigh on the SWML as there are many passenger trains there, including class 158, 159, 220, 221, 444 (which I rarely see on your channel), 450, some of them at speed (100mph) and a lot of freight trains
Brilliant video thanks, highlights why the line from Uckfield to Lewes should be re-opened as bml2, is almost like the rail equivalent of the M25
This is the station that I used to go to school on I have many memories of this station not all of them good
Definitely the class 377 and 387 because my dad drives them
Lots of electrostars in this one!
There certainly is! The Brighton Mainline is always awash with electrostars 😃
Good to see Newhaven producing lots of freight for this area 👍🏻
The coast like Littlehampton and Brighton are like big beaches
Littlehampton opened in 1997
The brighton to london line is very busy
Whats it like trainspotting at Wivelsfield???
its a lovely peaceful station in the countryside, ideal for distance videoing. You can see both stations on either side (Haywards Heath through the tunnel!) Only dis-advantage is the lack of a shop but thats not always a bad thing!
😊 southern go down to the coast slot
Amazing video as always! 👍
Great video.
Since the Class 455 and Class 313 are gone. Southern have enough trains to cover their network including Class 377 Electrostars and Class 171 Turbostars. And Thameslink Class 700 that operates to & from Brighton.
Great video as always!! But I do think the 377's look better with the shrouding round the lights, makes them look a little more completed to me!
nearly at 12k subs keep up the excellent work mate
Nice video! Just out of curiosity, how do you find out the headcode of a train? Eg. 6D82
Realtimetrains
Railcam or traksy have diagrams which show the trains and their headcode.
11:33 sounds very similar to a 379 on your trains at Cheshunt video, no idea how I remembered 😂
I don't know how you remember that dc89!! That was such a long time ago! 😂😂
@@StarlifeStudios 😂😂
good vid👍
Many thanks for watching and leaving your kind comments 😃
Nice vidseo! Just wondering, what camera do you use?
I use a Panasonic HC VX1. Thanks
Fantastic!
Good video 📹 ❤😊
Thanks Rajesh 🤗
SHEEESH finally early!
I love your video
What station you going after Wivelsfield?
One in Wales!
@@StarlifeStudios what Wales station is coming this Sunday?
No surprise but a lot of Southern
Yep, the services are different but the units are the same. This route now has the 387s (since COVID) but it never had 455s or 313s. Thanks for watching Deividas 😊
@@StarlifeStudios always a pleasure watching trains go by
1967
Which one in wales?
😂❤😮😅
Not 1997
Here's a video idea for next year, april specifically. Maybe make a 10 - 15 min long vid of trainspotting at...... none other than llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Oh, and maybe the full name would do for April fools purposes.
