Thanks Mr . Adams. It was well explain. I just opened my box and guess what ! They sent me a used food saver. We paid for a new one. No user Manuel and the bag for the plastic rolls was opened and one was in the machine , the food saver had some dry food under the the lid. Very disappointed.
There is a foam seal around the vacuum chamber. Make sure that it’s in place so it can seal. It’s slipped off a few times for me and the result is close to the issue you’re detailed.

It'll shrink right up tight like it's supposed to but after just minutes it just releases and loses its vacuum? Regardless of what brand bags.

So, what if I had to do a whole deer, or an elk? Can the motor handle that much use?

Nobody ever says whether the bag has to be on the clear side up or the webbed side down to seal.

Make sure that the foam seal is in place and hasn't slipped off. That happens some times.
