Yes, a beautiful performance. This is a hard song to sing. It’s not the type of song you’d ever expect a ten year old to handle well-unless that ten year old was a master at the timing and nuances of soft jazz, had fluid vocal flexibility, and also had a relaxed voice that just glides between octaves without effort. Fortunately, Angelina has all of those abilities in spades. She seems to have a limitless toolbox that allows her to select whatever vocal components she needs to fit the song she chooses. Whatever she sings seems to be in her comfort zone, whether she’s taking on Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, Elvis, Queen, Dinah Washington, Screamin Jay Hawkins, etc., etc., etc... And for all the times I’ve heard her sing, I never get tired of hearing her everyday. I can’t say that about any other singer, and I’ve been listening to music since the 1950’s.

I don't think there's no need to point out all the fantastic things Angelina did in this performance. It's probably sufficient to say that you're not the only one to be flabbergasted by this song. It's been voted "favorite recording" in several fan groups on Facebook a couple of times I think. For me it's the go-to video if I'm feeling a bit off the track and need a mental and emotional reset. I love how the golden sunlight of the Nordic summer evening smiles at Angelina and how she smiles back, the producer of this TV show also did a fantastic job and added some mystique to the whole thing. I almost forgot to mention that you'll probably be blown away by the next song as well, and you'll come to realize that Angelina is just as good with a full orchestra as she is with just the acoustic guitar, as long as it's a proper audio mix and pro recording. I'll be waiting impatiently until next time to see if you agree.

Adam - Her guitar accompanied songs are also my favorites. This was pure perfection - everything worked here, including the lovely setting. I’ve listened to this many times, but only noticed something today. I thought she sang this in a “straight up, no chaser” style, to use an archaic reference to a way of ordering whiskey at the bar. I mean her voice was not really embellished in anyway by a lot of clever techniques. She just followed the original melody and used her natural voice throughout, with no frills. Beautiful.

The fact that Angelina was still ten when she gave this performance is mind-boggling! As has been stated in a number of reactions on RUclips, her timing is impeccable, and her pitch, vibrato, & breath control are extraordinary - even more so for a singer her age…. Another vocal coach suggested that she must have been pushed hard by her parents and coaches to develop these skills when she was so young. I doubt this. Based on interviews with her and her parents, and combining the fact that she’s had a passion for singing since she was a toddler - with being incredibly gifted, I don’t think she had to be “pushed” to do anything. (In this interview with her mother - after winning “Norway’s Got Talent” at age seven, her mother expresses more concern for letting Angelina have a “normal” life than pursuing a singing career. ruclips.net/video/OP1ZUeCrbMI/видео.html ) Besides her “ear” for pitch, I am impressed with her natural ability to hear and mimic the subtle distinctions in intonation, vowel shaping, and style of various recording artists. I could never name a favorite from Angelina.... but it's this one ;) That voice is so buttery smooth. The song is so perfectly paced. She just pulls you right in. I won't say how many times I have listened to this one... but it is a large number. In my personal opinion this song has never been, or ever will be again sung as beautifully as she did it that day on that rooftop.... it's literally one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. ...and the fact that it came from a 10 year old... that's hard to even process. Just like you said, this is a once in a lifetime artist we are looking at. BTW: you asked about her range... as far as the recorded evidence available to us, her Low is a D#2 ("you make me feel so young") and her highest is G6 (Unchained Melody).

It would appear that the lowest I can sing "normally" (no vocal fry and not incredibly "breathy") this evening is right around a D#2. Now, I've long known that the lowest Angelina can go is almost exactly an octave higher than the lowest I can go, so I could believe that Angelina's lowest notes (in YMMFSY and UM) are around D3 or even C#3 (when I sing the relevant parts of these songs an octave below her, her lowest notes are _just_ beyond what I can sing "normally"), but obviously not D#2 (unless I'm actually a whole octave off, but keep reading). Now, as for her highest note in UM ruclips.net/video/TroRUF2iwHA/видео.htmlm33s when I try to sing that at the same pitch, it is not at all pretty, but I can just barely reach it. Of course, singing it an octave lower is quite comfortable. But then I can go down the scale from there to the lowest note I can sing, and that turns out to be a difference of about 2 octaves + 2 tones. So, Angelina's range in that song must be around 2 octaves + 3 tones (or so). (Same thing for Bobby Hatfield's live version ruclips.net/video/IYj2hex99gY/видео.html BTW.) That would mean her highest note is _maybe_ a G5, but certainly not a G6.

I am 71 and I’m blown away every single time I listen to her I’ve been following her since her recordings first came out when she was six. There is nothing in this world that can compare to her she is a gift from God a gift that we very rarely have Privy to. We should embrace it definitely embrace her and put her up there with the stars the moon and the sun she’s beautiful she’s talented she plays multiple instruments she writes books and music she is phenomenal we will never see another like her in our lifetime

I didn’t discovet Ella until my 30s, i felt a little robbed that it took that long. When Ella sings the American Songbook she’s the one that is the standard of those standards. Now we have Angelina stepping into Ellas shoes and she stands right next to Ella on these songs. Its exciting because the hope of hearing her live is part of the experience. Her voice is buttery and is without peer. Her voice with the guitar is so beautiful as her lower range is so full, round, and warm it rivals the broad warmth of the guitar.

You have done some of her slower songs with the simple accompaniment which highlight her smooth and full tones very well. I think it might be time for one of her more up-tempo and boisterous songs. This is also one of my favorites. But the best performance is the one that’s audio only. The band in that one is awesome. It can be found in the Angelina in concert that’s about 32 minutes long. But someone has probably just singled out that song as well
When I saw the conductor of the band look over to her - he clearly was amazed with the power of her voice - I listened to the track from the album- the live performance was far superior- he probably was thinking- "you never sang like that in rehearsal!"
She has a talent that's very very rare. This kind of talent comes by on this planet earth probably every 100 years or so. like I said she is super special god's gifted super star child entertainer. I think one of her most gorgeous performances using a full orchestra backing is her work for russian Compozer Nico Cartozios instrumental Album. This is a new one for me, and I loved it! I've always been a big Ella fan, and I can definitely hear that Angelina is familiar with her recording of this song. But as always, she makes it her own. I agree, the single acoustic guitar accompaniment is the best way to showcase Angelina's talents. It's not that she doesn't do well with larger or different instrumental groups, but with the guitar she's just magic. Partly that's just that she's been blessed to have a couple of really good guitarists accompanying her on a lot of videos, while the quality of the larger groups has been less consistent. But it's mostly just that keeping the accompaniment to a single instrument allows us to focus more on her wonderful voice and musical choices.
Angelina voice is absolutely incredible, every word she sings becomes alive in the heart, its as if she becomes part of what she is singing. She is a real blessing and l can only say thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us.

I seem to say this all the time, but this is one of my all time favorite Angelina performances. She 10 years old here in the Summer of 2016 on this Oslo Norway rooftop. Her voice is amazing as usual, but in this one, for some reason I was totally captivated by her expressions also. It wasn't just her voice, but like always it was her presentation. But somehow this one was special. If her new fans haven't seen it, there is a great mash-up of Angelina and Ella Fitzgerald singing this song in a side by side video by pa1189j. When I first heard this mash up with Ella I was blown away. Ella was already famous and a seasoned performer at 40 when she recorded this beautiful Cole Porter song in 1956. And as you said, Angelina was 10. In my opinion, Angelina's version is just as good as Ella's. I have no idea how that can be.

I heard that this performance was on the roof of a Norwegian TV station and it was her farewell to Norway because she was about to go to live in L.A. for a while. I agree that Angelina backed by a good guitarist is heaven and this performance is one of my favorites.
I'm pretty sure Angelina was 10, ten, when she recorded this. That seems to be around the time Angelina's voice really jelled into the fantastic instrument it has been all these years. She is utterly unique, maybe in all history.

What I loved about this was the simplicity of the performance. It would be so easy to embellish it with a few twirls and runs, or to add a bit of emotional colour, but that would drag this song down. She does it straight - and perfectly.

Adam - Her guitar accompanied songs are also my favorites. This was pure perfection - everything worked here, including the lovely setting. I’ve listened to this many times, but only noticed something today. I thought she sang this in a “straight up, no chaser” style, to use an archaic reference to a way of ordering whiskey at the bar. I mean her voice was not really embellished in anyway by a lot of clever techniques. She just followed the original melody and used her natural voice throughout, with no frills. Beautiful.

The fact that Angelina was still ten when she gave this performance is mind-boggling! As has been stated in a number of reactions on RUclips, her timing is impeccable, and her pitch, vibrato, & breath control are extraordinary - even more so for a singer her age….
Another vocal coach suggested that she must have been pushed hard by her parents and coaches to develop these skills when she was so young. I doubt this. Based on interviews with her and her parents, and combining the fact that she’s had a passion for singing since she was a toddler - with being incredibly gifted, I don’t think she had to be “pushed” to do anything. (In this interview with her mother - after winning “Norway’s Got Talent” at age seven, her mother expresses more concern for letting Angelina have a “normal” life than pursuing a singing career. ruclips.net/video/OP1ZUeCrbMI/видео.html )
Besides her “ear” for pitch, I am impressed with her natural ability to hear and mimic the subtle distinctions in intonation, vowel shaping, and style of various recording artists. Contrast this with her Whitney Houston tribute (age thirteen) ruclips.net/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/видео.html I don’t think it’s one of her goals (she’s done very well at creating her own sound and distinctive renditions), but when her voice is fully developed, she could have successful performances impersonating other recording artists.
If there’s an area where she could get even better, it might be vocal power when hitting big, high notes. I could never name a favorite from Angelina.... but it's this one ;) That voice is so buttery smooth. The song is so perfectly paced. She just pulls you right in. I won't say how many times I have listened to this one... but it is a large number. In my personal opinion this song has never been, or ever will be again sung as beautifully as she did it that day on that rooftop.... it's literally one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. ...and the fact that it came from a 10 year old... that's hard to even process. Just like you said, this is a once in a lifetime artist we are looking at. BTW: you asked about her range... as far as the recorded evidence available to us, her Low is a D#2 ("you make me feel so young") and her highest is G6 (Unchained Melody).

It would appear that the lowest I can sing "normally" (no vocal fry and not incredibly "breathy") this evening is right around a D#2. Now, I've long known that the lowest Angelina can go is almost exactly an octave higher than the lowest I can go, so I could believe that Angelina's lowest notes (in YMMFSY and UM) are around D3 or even C#3 (when I sing the relevant parts of these songs an octave below her, her lowest notes are _just_ beyond what I can sing "normally"), but obviously not D#2 (unless I'm actually a whole octave off, but keep reading). Now, as for her highest note in UM ruclips.net/video/TroRUF2iwHA/видео.htmlm33s when I try to sing that at the same pitch, it is not at all pretty, but I can just barely reach it. Of course, singing it an octave lower is quite comfortable. But then I can go down the scale from there to the lowest note I can sing, and that turns out to be a difference of about 2 octaves + 2 tones. So, Angelina's range in that song must be around 2 octaves + 3 tones (or so). (Same thing for Bobby Hatfield's live version ruclips.net/video/IYj2hex99gY/видео.html BTW.) That would mean her highest note is _maybe_ a G5, but certainly not a G6.

I am 71 and I’m blown away every single time I listen to her I’ve been following her since her recordings first came out when she was six. There is nothing in this world that can compare to her she is a gift from God a gift that we very rarely have Privy to. We should embrace it definitely embrace her and put her up there with the stars the moon and the sun she’s beautiful she’s talented she plays multiple instruments she writes books and music she is phenomenal we will never see another like her in our lifetime

I didn’t discovet Ella until my 30s, i felt a little robbed that it took that long. When Ella sings the American Songbook she’s the one that is the standard of those standards. Now we have Angelina stepping into Ellas shoes and she stands right next to Ella on these songs. Its exciting because the hope of hearing her live is part of the experience. Her voice is buttery and is without peer. Her voice with the guitar is so beautiful as her lower range is so full, round, and warm it rivals the broad warmth of the guitar.
Thanks Adam, no matter how many times you play tracks from A J you will never get board, she adapts to each song and puts her own stamp on each song, and you will still get the odd surprise.

Yes! thank you for this one. She was only 10 years old when she performed this. This one is in the top 5 on my playlist for her. You have done some of her slower songs with the simple accompaniment which highlight her smooth and full tones very well. I think it might be time for one of her more up-tempo and boisterous songs. I'd love to hear your reaction to her cover of James Brown's "This is a Man's World" - ruclips.net/video/HEm7tGrjIKk/видео.html. She is backed by the Norwegian Military band and it is a great look at her belting capability.
This is also one of my favorites. But the best performance is the one that’s audio only. The band in that one is awesome. It can be found in the Angelina in concert that’s about 32 minutes long. But someone has probably just singled out that song as well
When I saw the conductor of the band look over to her - he clearly was amazed with the power of her voice - I listened to the track from the album- the live performance was far superior- he probably was thinking- "you never sang like that in rehearsal!"

This is a new one for me, and I loved it! I've always been a big Ella fan, and I can definitely hear that Angelina is familiar with her recording of this song. But as always, she makes it her own. I agree, the single acoustic guitar accompaniment is the best way to showcase Angelina's talents. It's not that she doesn't do well with larger or different instrumental groups, but with the guitar she's just magic. Partly that's just that she's been blessed to have a couple of really good guitarists accompanying her on a lot of videos, while the quality of the larger groups has been less consistent. But it's mostly just that keeping the accompaniment to a single instrument allows us to focus more on her wonderful voice and musical choices.

Adam, you're on a roll now! This is one of my favorites. I believe it was filmed on a roof top in Oslo. I agree with you, Angelina and a guitar is magic. It lets us enjoy every syllable she sings. But, Adam, lets not dismiss the affect she has on us when she looks directly at us with those eyes and knows exactly where to fit in a beautiful smile. She captivates us and we love it. This one is one of my favorites, but it's not my #1. You have another good one ready to go with SUMMERTIME. I'm pretty sure I've heard all her stuff and if you keep on listening to her you will love the journey and you'll hear a lot of really incredible vocals.
She shows a great deal of maturity as a person not just her voice or she could not sing with such emotion.

I seem to say this all the time, but this is one of my all time favorite Angelina performances. She 10 years old here in the Summer of 2016 on this Oslo Norway rooftop. Her voice is amazing as usual, but in this one, for some reason I was totally captivated by her expressions also. It wasn't just her voice, but like always it was her presentation. But somehow this one was special. If her new fans haven't seen it, there is a great mash-up of Angelina and Ella Fitzgerald singing this song in a side by side video by pa1189j. When I first heard this mash up with Ella I was blown away. Ella was already famous and a seasoned performer at 40 when she recorded this beautiful Cole Porter song in 1956. And as you said, Angelina was 10. In my opinion, Angelina's version is just as good as Ella's. I have no idea how that can be.

I heard that this performance was on the roof of a Norwegian TV station and it was her farewell to Norway because she was about to go to live in L.A. for a while. I agree that Angelina backed by a good guitarist is heaven and this performance is one of my favorites.
I'm pretty sure Angelina was 10, ten, when she recorded this. That seems to be around the time Angelina's voice really jelled into the fantastic instrument it has been all these years. She is utterly unique, maybe in all history.

What I loved about this was the simplicity of the performance. It would be so easy to embellish it with a few twirls and runs, or to add a bit of emotional colour, but that would drag this song down. She does it straight - and perfectly.
