I'd love to see a video about weathering pigments. I've recently gotten into them and starting to hit that learning curve. Also, hi from the Krieg grenadier from adepticon 2022!
I've got that same preacher from Victoria miniatures comibg with my next guardsman order. She will be part of my sisters and imperial cultist force. Which are painted with bronze trim, black armour and split down the middle aqua l purple scheme.
My wife and I plan to go next year and I can’t wait! It’ll be our first time and a 13HR drive. I’m sure we will go on a buying spree as well! You picked up some super good things. I love that fallout kit!
Hey, thanks for sharing your shopping bag! I'm bummed I didn't run into you at the show; I was hoping to tell you in person how much I enjoy what you do. Ah well. Next year! I wish I had taken more time when I cruised the dealer hall. I was usually moving too quickly, so I completely missed Victoria Miniatures; I would have loved to pick up that Sister model you got. Your D30 can be used for Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG, which is a fun system I've been playing with friends via Discord the last couple years. Fallout New Vegas: I'm playing it now! I never finished it the first time I started, but after trying out a demo of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare at Adepticon I've restarted with New Vegas and having fun... and yeah, my companion is Boone currently and he's pretty trigger-happy; blowing my cover as I'm trying to carefully sneak up! lol. I wound up getting some of the Fallout miniatures as well and have been reading the rulebook... it's complicated at first, but it looks fun. Your tub of bitz can be useful for Gaslands parts if that's a game you play. You can use those GW armor plates, guns, tubes, engine parts, or whatever and slap 'em on some Hot Wheels cars and you'll be ready for Post-apocalyptic car racing in no time. ;-) Glad you had fun at the con!
FFG's Xwing 2.0 is awesome. Xwing '2.5' needed a little more time on the drawing board before being released by AMG as the new standard, imo. Also, The Tales From the Floating Vagabond rpg uses a d30.
I still have one of my D30's from the early 1980's. I had a transparent and a transparent smoke set. There was a book for the D30 for D&D back in the day. Not TSR, but it had all kinds of tables to add to your character such as languages spoken, trades, Misc. Loot, Misc. Encounters and such. It was fun just because the die was soo cool.
Took a look at the Fallout game's minis and was pleasantly surprised you can play as the NCR and Caesar's Legion. What I wasn't so happy about was that there weren't any old school, proper Fallout 2 power armor mk. 2 Enclave minis, even though they have a Frank Horrigan mini.
There are a couple of dioramas I’d like to do that are sort of based off of video games. The main one would be a Primaris Marine (Maybe Captain Titus) walking all stoically near a bunch of guardsmen, and a recreation of the Hunt the Truth trailer for Halo 5 (awesome advertising, but false advertising) with Shadowsun vs Farsight. And of course Driago recreating the classic Doom box art because he pretty much is the Doomslayer and Samurai Jack.
"This is one of those things I'm going to love and cherish and take a very long time to get around to painting." = "I'm never ever painting this miniature."
Gotta flex my oldhammer knowledge here, but among your white scars upgrade kit seems to be the old imperial guard rough rider lance(which the seller might have confused with the spear from the white scars kit).
I tried to post link to the Miniature Building Authority since you mentioned them but it got removed. Great company and I own several of their pre-painted terrain pieces. Highly recommend.
Its great to see that you like the carnevale vampires alts, those are miniture that I worked on to get into production so can't wait to see what you do with them :D
Living in AZ, I really want that scorpion. Nice haul! I would have hit the bitz bins for metal Warmachine. I love pewter! Did you take any painting classes?
Ah the best part of trevling for me... getting hiome and counting the suvenieres... Which Squad marks aare perfect for me I have games that have faction asnostic models like Battletech, My game and World of tanks... So they will be perfect for that!
I got the Sereqet from Arena Rex, i painted mine up so the scorpion looks like a living bronze statue and she's riding as if she animated the statue to ride into battle.
I really like the grass tufts from Huge Miniatures. They have irregular shapes in a bunch of different colors. I'm curious about their new paint line, but it's a kickstarter project and I learned about it too late.
Xwing: can't speak for others but with our group 2.0 was a £50 per player "upgrade", if you brought the upgrade packs that is. We didn't feel there was a point in upgrading when we were happy with 1.0. As an additional note our main imperial player would need multiple upgrade packs to run her swarm list.
Have you seen the recent changes to X-wing a lot of people are calling 2.5? They drastically simplified list building and changed a few rules to make it a little more forgiving for inexperienced players. AMG really wants to recapture the magic of 1.0 and get more people into the game, and I hope it works out for them.
I'd love to see you do a video attempting Play on Tabletop's amazing explosion and smoke battle accessories. They look so amazing, I'm not sure why more people don't use them.
we knew someone who worked on fifth element, and my sister and her friend managed to get some of the wigs from the movie. it was hilarious them wearing them haha
While I've never seen a game officially support a D30, I do remember (way back) that The Armory did produce some supplement books that contained all sorts of D30 charts for rolling up all sorts of stuff, mostly for fantasy RPG's.
A game that uses strange dice like a D30 if Freeblades. A fantasy skirmish game produced by DGS games, check them out. P.s. it was cool to see you filming at the con.
I wish I had know you were coming. We would have invited you to take place in the Meat Grinder charity event. It was an arena combat event where you get to run the losing, fully painted and finished models through a real meatgtinder. Look for us next year. The event is a joint Geek Nation Tours / Anonymous Tabletop podcast event. You may even get a chance to watch several Crystal Brush and Golden Demon winner's painted models battle it out to avoid certain doom.
The Meat Grinder was THE BEST! So much fun. My darkly-robed Spess Mareen didn't last too long and the Kroot warrior was eventually crowned King of the Arena. Xenos Scum! GRIND! THEM! UP! Lol. Thanks for running the Meat Grinder, we have a blast.
ROFL, I laughed at that, too... I'm sure Jay does know this, it was just him and his understated, wry humour (which is one reason I really enjoy his videos).
X-Wing just got some huge rules changes (it is commonly called 2.5) so it is possible people didn't want to play in a tournament with rules they didn't know or didn't like the new new rules (as well as some people not liking 2.0).
You need to paint that fnv companion set. Hell, I'm going to look for a set myself after the video is over, that looks like fantastic set of minis. Edit: game pieces or diorama.. why not both? Just make the diorama base able to accommodate the 25mm base. Just key the base prior to decorations and it will always fit in and still be playable.
i just dont understand how you work. i could never get my self to start something like this fallout box without me feeling forced to completley complete a new collection xD
OK... So a couple things. Was this in Schaumburg, IL? Because yea I live in the area and didn't know about it til now. Argh! Secondly where do you guys(eons of battle) live around? Are you local to me? That would be kinda cool if ya were
Never been to a wargaming con (mostly because there aren't any where I live) but knowing my expending at any other co, it feels like my wallet would definitely suffer for it.
Dangggg Jay goes hard!! Great to finally meet you pals at adepticon :-)
I'd love to see a video about weathering pigments. I've recently gotten into them and starting to hit that learning curve. Also, hi from the Krieg grenadier from adepticon 2022!
I've started using them myself and if I had a tip for anyone is you can make your own at a fraction of the cost with chalk pastels. My mind was blown
Jeremy at Black Magic Craft makes them out of soft pastels so I bought some and I'm sure I'll try that at some point.
He has atleast 3: ruclips.net/video/w540coKjPLE/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/fpFS7VwWb0M/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/yLX86dERHcY/видео.html
2:11 "it's a ridiculously big golf ball sized dice" you, sir, have not seen the d100
I was just working on a shockingly similar video haha. I think everyone goes a little overboard at adepticon. Great to see you guys there!
You better believe it! It was great meeting you!!
You are my miniature spirit animal. You motivated me to get my box of shame out and get going.
I've got that same preacher from Victoria miniatures comibg with my next guardsman order. She will be part of my sisters and imperial cultist force. Which are painted with bronze trim, black armour and split down the middle aqua l purple scheme.
Looks like you picked up a bunch of stuff from our booth! Thanks and see you again next year!
Glad you had a good time! Can’t wait to see with you do with all your purchases!
Really cool stuff, I like the Mug-O-Bits deal, thats a pile of random fun if you're kitbashing or basing!
My wife and I plan to go next year and I can’t wait! It’ll be our first time and a 13HR drive. I’m sure we will go on a buying spree as well! You picked up some super good things. I love that fallout kit!
Awesome Strigoi from Carnevale. I love the game and its lore.
Hey, thanks for sharing your shopping bag! I'm bummed I didn't run into you at the show; I was hoping to tell you in person how much I enjoy what you do. Ah well. Next year! I'm building some Carnevale Strigoi myself this week. Lovely models. Lots of 0.6mm pinning, which I love doing! :)
I still have one of my D30's from the early 1980's. I had a transparent and a transparent smoke set. There was a book for the D30 for D&D back in the day. They've got Enclave power armor minis... but I couldn't say if it's mk.2 or not.

2:05 - The Freeblades game uses a number of different polyhedron dice, like that D30 you bought.
Free blade game????
"This is one of those things I'm going to love and cherish and take a very long time to get around to painting." = "I'm never ever painting this miniature."
I am impressed at how much personal growth it has taken me to feel "worthy" of painting things lol
I met you in the vendor hall! I was really flustered and felt bad I forgot your channel name when I walked away. Great meeting you!
Those gamergrass tufts are amazing.
I bought those mini versions that come in 100 on one sheet.
Cant express in words how good they are.
Ttcombat is mainly distributed in the us by my local shop. Glad you picked up a model!
Would love to hear about the praire base scatter and how it works out for you! Looks like a really cool idea. Is it like a mix of different materials?
I worked on Fallout New Vegas as a designer. ;)
The power loader chibi looks ace!
Off the top of my head d30s are used in RPGs - Dungeon Crawl Classics, Harnmaster, Lejendary Adventures, and Lyonesse.
I too just bought my first fallout minis this week, I got a pair of the securatrons can't wait to paint them.
When will you be picking up a fisto mini?
Tactical Marines are a fun Kill Team. A retro White Scar Tactical Marine kill team would be a blast.

AWESOME HAUL! Fifth element characters are so cool! Can you please talk about or show us the starship troopers miniature game on the shelf PLEASE 🙏!
Huge miniatures makes some awesome stuff
Next time, stop by the GW specialist game events on the second floor, we have free beer.
Was nice meeting you and getting interviewed by you at Adepticon!
D30 was used for Formula D racing game for example :)
Let's hear for impulse buys!
Don’t do fantasy gaming, but still enjoy your channel.
Must be your endless optimism. :-)
"...and speaking of things I enjoy so I impulse bought them, you know what else I enjoy? That's right our patreon!" I HEARD this in my brain
Call me boring, but that bucket of GW dice sounds like my jam.
Have you seen the recent changes to X-wing a lot of people are calling 2.5? They drastically simplified list building and changed a few rules to make it a little more forgiving for inexperienced players. AMG really wants to recapture the magic of 1.0 and get more people into the game, and I hope it works out for them.
watching this can't be healthy for my spending's. but it's properly still worth watching ..... always so good videos they make
I'd love to see you do a video attempting Play on Tabletop's amazing explosion and smoke battle accessories. They look so amazing, I'm not sure why more people don't use them.
I got the mug of bits too! I got some dreadnought parts and a couple multi melta.
The best thing for a D30? Freeblades. It's an awesome tabletop skirmish (and RPG) game.
Man, I love your intro!!!
So that was you and Goobertown I saw walking around! I was too afraid to go say hi and find out 😅
Thanks for sharing.
One of these days I would love to do a wargaming con. They sound like a lot pf fun.
Looking forward to the vampire project.
Cassidy is always my fav fallout companion. I get annoyed with Veronicas stomping :D
Dungeon crawl classics uses a d30 sometimes
Arena Rex and the team behind them are so great it's cool you got one of their minis!
we knew someone who worked on fifth element, and my sister and her friend managed to get some of the wigs from the movie. it was hilarious them wearing them haha
One of the best things about cons is finding new stuff you didn’t know you need and bringing home a bag with the most random assortment
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
That's why my friend painted his base rims different colors to delineate squads and I plan on doing the same.
Whatever happened to you love for fast cars with led lighting on the trim?
Jay Its great how much you talk about Fallout NV in your videos lol. It is a great game fo sure
I spent about $400 at Adepticon. Totally worth it. Sad that I didn’t see you there, but hey, maybe next year.
While I've never seen a game officially support a D30, I do remember (way back) that The Armory did produce some supplement books that contained all sorts of D30 charts for rolling up all sorts of stuff, mostly for fantasy RPG's.

Jesse Ventura was in the Original "Predator" from 1987, "Predators" is the 2010 Movie with Adrien Brodie and Lawrence Fishburn.
ROFL, I laughed at that, too... I'm sure Jay does know this, it was just him and his understated, wry humour (which is one reason I really enjoy his videos).
All these things are business expenses now!!! Cool to see what you got!
The Old Painless
I though RUclips frowned on people showing their bits on camera?
Daemonettes? Vampire babes? Are you making a Blade blood rave diorama?
I have the new gravis captain that games workshop released and he is a very amazing model
It woould be interesting to see what you would do with some of the models from Adeptus Titanicus. Or maybe some old Epic minis.
X-Wing just got some huge rules changes (it is commonly called 2.5) so it is possible people didn't want to play in a tournament with rules they didn't know or didn't like the new new rules (as well as some people not liking 2.0).
Will you ever do a video about that starship troopers game on your shelf? It looks really neat
2:10 not sure about d30, but there’s a wargame called Normandy firefight that uses d100 dice, and man those things are chunky
Is adeptacon always near chicago? Might try to go nxt year.
i would love to get my hand on some metal bits like that but for dark angels
Great episode.
That's why I paint my base rims by squad, each group gets a different colour.
Yooo you should paint gravus captain like you jet pack guys in the white
Dungeon Crawl Classics makes use of the D30
Damn I'd so buy them white scars parts lol
i just dont understand how you work. i could never get my self to start something like this fallout box without me feeling forced to completley complete a new collection xD
Hey guys, I feel a bit nervous asking this question, but what is adeptacon? It sounds super fun but I am newer to the painting side of the hobby!
It's a wargaming/miniatures convention held in the Chicago area. Lots of tournaments, vendors, and classes.
@@Vanye111 Now I really want to go lol
OK... So a couple things. Was this in Schaumburg, IL? Because yea I live in the area and didn't know about it til now. Argh! Secondly where do you guys(eons of battle) live around? Are you local to me? That would be kinda cool if ya were
They are in the Chicago area.
Formula De, or Formula D as it was rebranded as, uses a D30. Great game.
I hope you guys had a great time!
Squats are coming back!
Ruby Ross! PAINT IT NOW!!!
No event exclusive miniatures?
The fires could be objective markers?
the patina pigments are great on skaven
Veronica is such a badass.
Vampire babes FTW
love you guys
Never been to a wargaming con (mostly because there aren't any where I live) but knowing my expending at any other co, it feels like my wallet would definitely suffer for it.
Grass can get way higher than your knee if nobody is mowing it, though.
From what I've heard, people don't like X-Wing 2 rules as much as the first one.
