I bet my dad thought «I think the money was worth it» right there. He started a new game. The first cutscene starts... Then, the gameplay is _on._ There are hordes of undead warriors at a ship, and my dad controls a man with 2 enchained fiery blades, dismembering the undead warriors as a blood pumping music plays in the background. He advances, finding the first one of the Hydra's Heads. From that moment on, I knew, this had become my favourite game (at the time). My dad enters the QTE, piercing the Blades of Chaos through the head's eyes. The blood was so much. It was beautiful. Forward, we fight the Hydra King. After killing it, going inside it's body to retrieve the key and abandoning the old man there. The music, the gore, the monsters, the level design... Everything about this game is perfect. My childhood along with GTA San Andreas. Thank you dad for buying this game. I love my childhood. I love *God of War*.
the funny thing with me is that when I played it I was in the room with my brother and father, and as you said the epic fight with the hydra felt amazing until that cutscene when they showed those two naked chicks on Kratos bed, imagine how embarrassed I felt lol

Yeah. There's still eons worth of things to do in Greek Mythology. Plus they took away Kratos' awesome voice, gave him a son, took away his awesome weapons, gave him a beard, etc. I wouldn't mind a Free Roam Gid Of War game in Greek Mythology, going back and looking at what has come of the world after you destroyed it in GOW3, how the people used the power of hope that he released when he killed himself at the end, etc.
I don't think David Jaffe's happy crack goes that far, Vincenzo. (We are probably years past God of War 3, so Aphrodite is probably dead by now, and so is Artemis)

The experience was just so refreshing as well. God of War 1 is still my favourite in the series. 2 and 3 were equally awesome but the first game is special. David Jaffe is a genius.

This is the game that i fall in love with PS2. Though i didn't bought it i was addicted to it and played hours in play station centre with friends shared and trying to figure out puzzles to complete stages day by day. GOW 1 and 2 completed, but cannot able to play GOW 3 as it was released in PS3. Then i waited for decade for right time, when GOW 2018 released, i purchased GOW 3 and 2018, revisited GOW 1 and 2 via emulator and continued with 3 and 4. Now waiting for another release. Music and KRATOS is fire.

When I started collecting games for my PS2, I spotted a copy of God of War 2 for £5. My mum decided to buy it for me, it later turned out to be one of the greatest games I have ever played.
It's so beautiful, and it makes me remember the old times when I first saw her, but for this game, I wouldn't know who she is and who this two-blade warrior is.
