How I use the BOSS FV-50H volume pedal.

The BOSS FV-50H volume pedal placed at the end of my pedalboard gives me complete control of my volume and gain.
One issue that guitar players have to wrestle is the balance in volume between clean and dirty sounds. Many times when you step on your overdrive/distortion pedal the sound is either too loud or too quiet. The only way to adjust the volume without adding or loosing gain is to bend down and turn the volume knob on the pedal. What a hassle while you are playing. You want that distorted sound to sit perfectly in the mix. By adjusting the volume knob on the guitar you will loose or add gain to your sound, which is really important for that task.
If you want to make slight volume adjustments while playing without affecting your gain structure use the volume pedal after your overdrive/distortion pedal.

What about the blue knob?

The blue knob adjusts the volume sweep. If you leave the blue knob up a little bit, when you back off the pedal all the way, you will still have some volume.
I like to keep the blue knob all the way down.
