Great job, got a series 2a im going to be putting either a 200/300tdi engine in. Cant wait to get stuck in to it now.
Looks good, all the Steve Parkers Ltd parts make the job a lot easier. Such as all the extended oil pipes/boost hoses, Extended top radiator hose and the engine mounting kit your using.
Made me smile when it started up 😁

200 and 300 TDI motors will start and run…always…. You dont even need to bother wiring the glow plugs, the motors are that well engineered. Can’t go wrong.

J/M. For your 30th anniversary D1, could one look at a 3Dr with an ex. GM 4.8 V8(LR4) petrol conversion ? These were introduced around 1999 for their SUV/Van range Stateside, with a very reliable 285Hp mista ! V.

not sure why you neded to cut the power steering pipes not sure if a 200 tdi pipes may of cured your problem with the engine being so far back on that box,you will of ordered 300 tdi power steering pipes which the engine is normally fitted with an r380 bringing the 300 closer to the front but as your using an lt77 it pushes the engine rite back hence pipes dont fit,blue coolant in 300 tdi not red lol i bed you love me chipping in pmsl,remember to fit your viscos fan too i noticed it didnt have one .
Different ends on 200 pipes to fit pump.
Could you move the radiator back also and have room to hide a winch on the back of the bumper, out of site? Them things are ugly!
Hi,great series on this build. I am very new to the defender scene and am currently fitting a 300tdi from a disco to my 90. I just wanted to ask regarding the air filter box,is the square box standard 300tdi as i thought it was a cylinder type? And also,where does the engine breather pipe locate please? Keep up the great vids,thanks. Matt

Is there any modifications that can improve the fuel consumption of a defender? The main thing holding me back from getting one is I can't afford the running costs atm :/
If fuel consumption is a concern, a Defender is probably not the car! You can fit a Disco transfer box which should help, but other than driving economically and not having a roof rack, there's not a simple solution.

did you need to use ECU from the discovery?
300Tdi doesn’t have an ECU, it’s a mechanical fuel pump with a solenoid 😁
Its easy to fault but heaver engine and very rusty shock towers and shocks
Could be changed easily and will fail mot soon
Your fuel hoses could be improved but its all better and saving a rusty 90
Additional works are up to the client. Sometimes people come to us from a long way for bigger works, and get maintenance done locally.
