@@World7589A lot of great characters are, but I guess it's nice to know that Tanner and the others who got Yusei out of Sattelite are doing better than before.
I really love how it's so dark and intense reflecting her almost antagonistic nature when she was first introduced, yet when you find her story and hear her lines in game, she is really sweet and caring but very powerful and fearless, a great way to retell her story with just a song as it is pretty tragic but her character never seems weak because of it as she still duels with full energy. Definitely one of the best female characters in the series.
Just a shame Yuigoh's forever a "Boys game"....

It’s a shame we don’t see to many Akiza players online anymore, this theme is such a banger!
They really make the Duel VIP worth it just to play some of these bangers. I have Shay's theme over Yuto and it feels so epic and fitting (even though Yuto's theme is also a banger). I like to put Akiza's theme over strong female characters like Mai and Alexis.

An aromage deck’s worst enemy: another aromage deck. Have literally had duels time out from the sheer number of turns since you can both endlessly recycle your decks, gain massive amounts of LP, and chain insane combos
This is why I always pack a Simochi card in my Aromage Deck

Just came back here to say, This sounds so much like Castlevania and I like it! No wonder it's Konami. Now if only they would care about making Castlevania games again.

There are a couple of themes in Duel Links that sound straight out of Castlevania. This being one of them
Castlevania 3 my fave but part 2 for most
What's funny is that I remember there being a Duelist Dungeon event (or however it's called, the common one where an 8bit Yugi moves down the stairs as you duel), and when you reached the bottom, a piece of the first Castlevania main theme played.
Akiza could have been one of the big three if not for everyone going crazy buying Crow’s Blackwing cards like hot cakes. She honestly was showing how female duelists can be a legit threat and have great character arc in the first season with potential for more in the Arcadia movement after Sayer/Divine died. Leaving whoever is left to pick up the pieces and inherit his will that Akiza must face off against or just go off on their own seeking a new home for other psychic duelists.
Cause surely Sayer must have had a second in command or someone to inherit his beliefs and vision as he was basically making an army of psychic duelists that was loyal to the one man who made a home for them to feel safe in from the world that discriminated against them.
All because they have a power few knew how to control and could cause real harm to their opponents, as well as to anything else around them.
So much potential…tragically wasted.

The “Buy Blackwings!” thing has been disproven, unfortunately. The timeline of Blackwing sales and Crow’s importance doesn’t add up. There’s a Reddit post or two going over this rumor. It’s not like Studio Gallop needs an excuse to downplay its female characters, anyway.
I wish Akiza had a more prominent role in the series, too. I’m in the middle of the Dark Signer Arc and I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen of her so far.
@@GrapeCheckerBoard The best selling cards depend on how broken Konami decides to make the archetype during their format. Competitive players care the most about what wins, regardless of the character the archetype is based off. The reality is, the "Rose" archetype was a horrible mess (and still kinda is) despite Akiza being "one of the best female duelists in yugioh". I think Konami is now catching on that people actually love female characters and will pay a lot for their cards 💀
One thing remains as a fact: Aki is, without a doubt in my mind, the best female lead in Yu Gi Oh
Akiza needs new support. She has so much potential.

This sounds weebish as hell, but I wish Konami gave us the option to keep the character's Japanese names, at least in text only.
I feel the complete opposite. I hate when americans insist on using the Japanese names as if they're more deep or meaningful. I recall an argument about how someone preferred "Judai" because it probably was picked for some deep reason, but no, Jaden was picked for a deep reason as it's biblical reference would reflect his transformation into Evil King Jaden later in the series despite being an otherwise well meaning boy. Judai...literally means "Teenage boy" and is a generic name just given to him. I mean if we want every character to be named "Red hair" and "Boy two" and such then yeah, but it's not "better.
Though not a ding against you (appreciate the honesty), it's more so I hate when people talk about Zexal and I have no idea who they're talking about cause the Japanese names are ALL different and the ENGLISH AMERICAN MADE VIDEO prefers to japanese names just to be condescending to americans who watched the show in english.... Not like we go to Japanese forums and say "HIs name is REGINALD KASTLE!" just to confuse them.

That's basically why I said I'd like for it to be an _option,_ so those who prefer the English names could opt for the English names.

Duel links has some PEAK music! Though I think the themes from Zexal and on are remixes of the anime themes while the ones from Duel Monsters to 5DS seem to be based on video games. as Yusei's anime theme is completely different from his Duel Links theme. and Leo and Luna's Anime theme is more serious and techno while Duel LInks is a lot more energetic and playful. (and one of the best)
