My Barred parakeet named Paco, just passed away yesterday after 13 years. I just had to see a video of one of these beautiful birds. They are so great, love to blow kisses, and really make great companions. Paco used to love to hear music (much like the keet in this vid :D) and I loved to play my acoustic guitar for him. Let`s all love and respect the wildlife around us forever.
@surftreasures Thanks a lot for your nice comment! Henry is very glad that you understand my little joke. It's not important that a bird could speak the human language, it's only important that the bird feels happy with us ♥ Many green greetings from Monika and her Linnie boys :-)
Nerd, a wild caught Maxi Pionus spoke wild Pionus and I spoke it back, we understood each other perfectly. He knew the name we called him, the name he called himself, and had a name for me 😍 I sure mise him after 31 years of growing up together. Hope your little guy is still with us and happy. Nerd would look at me and go Erk! Quietly, his way of saying all was right with his world and he was happy.
Your little linnie is so cute. I have one just like him! LB (Little Bird) loves to sing along when I play guitar. He also loves John Denver's music and finishes "Rocky Mountain High" with a flourish. He says, "I'ma good boy." Great little companion! LS
What's the best toy for them? And mine has lots of stress bars:/ , he does let me pet a bit and stand on my finger but gets aggressive when he's on the ground running around
It's not good for birds to have mirrors, can distort their sense of reality which can be psychologically damaging. But it'd only then be abuse if you're holding a single bird without company, but especially for lineolated parakeets that would be incredibly horrible ans I doubt many people would do that to them.
@TheMartinick Thanks a lot for your friendly comment. Henry - and me - we are very pleased and would like to see your musical talented Linnie :-))) That would be great! Green greetings from Bavaria, Germany Monika
@jonny1251 Oh, that's so sad. I regret that you've lost a good friend. Linnies are very special parakeets, I've never seen any other birds who are comparable. They are the best of all! Wish you all the luck Monika
@ChefGirl22 Mother Nature painted all Lineolated Parakeets in Green. I really like these "Flying Emeralds", but breeders often create new unneccesary colors. You said your finches enjoyed it when Henry started to sing? And they joined back? That's great! I regret that I could not hear it!
@loveofeathers Henry says "Hello, nice to meet a lovely linnie-mom :-)) " The music was written by Joe Bodemann (Music for animals - especially for parrots and parakeets). Bye and many kisses to your birds :-***
@04Ammy04 You asked me: Did he ever scream?? Mine screams alllllllllll day and i'm not sure what's wrong Henry only screams when his partner Christo is out of sight.
@ChefGirl22 Ha ha ... that's so funny. My birds are reacting the same. Each time they are surprised if they hear other bird voices! Then they are searching for the "strangers" ... ha ha ... And of course ... I never tell anything to Tiki. It's our secret :-))))

This about the only time I've been punked or clickbaited on RUclips and liked it. Thumbs up Henry!
Me too when I go to bed, and I love it
Just love the little place he has to sit and chill out! All pet birds should be so lucky!
Nice story, Henry! I love the part where he finds a whole big bucket full of sunflower seeds!
So cute!

I'm learning their language ! For me that's better than my Linneated brothers repeating hello all day LOL
@@briansemple1334 Wow! That's great! Enjoy! :-)

sometimes my linnie makes noises like that...but only in the middle of the night. Is that normal?
How cute! I think they are dreaming
Foundinthesea they are content sounds :)
My linnie does this when he’s looking in his mirror or cuddled in my hoodie

LeiaAnimates I give him a mirror because he likes them. And he does have a budgie friend, they are almost always playing together

Ha ha, that's great, thank you
Can they mimic human language? Like how most budgerigars and other parrots do?
Kathleen Monsegue Yes they can. My linnie says “hi”, “hello” and “hi mama”

I'd like to see your set-up, he seems really comfortable. Do you have a 'tube about linnie cage preferences?

Has he tried to attack you for no apparent reason yet? Just out the blue charge at you with a scream? Just kinda wondering ...
@secret27wish
Yeah, all Linnies are great singers! Maybe your birdie would be a brilliant partner for a duett :-)))
Green greetings to Kanada!
@04Ammy04

Henry only screams when his partner Christo is out of sight.

Please excuse, I overread your question. Please take a look to my facebook page! There I show some more pics!
