Most people I know gave up their desktop and use their phones or laptops for looking up stuff. I'm old and love my 37 inch monitor. I was think about building another desktop this year since the price of video cards are coming down. Great video thanks Liron.
really depends on what you do. A laptop is great if you need the portability and since many people don't like being hunched over the small screen and keyboard, they use an external monitor anyways.
I use my laptop when I travel but when I am home or in the studio, desktop with a large monitor wins 100% of the time.
And forgot how to use a pc !
@@LironSegev Every time Buddy 🙏🇬🇧🇺🇸
A desktop computer can do things that other devices can't. I have burned up every laptop I had multitasking, stock trading etc... I got a liquid cooled desktop, and problem solved. No more overheating. I found another computer with a RTX 2080 Ti graphics card for about the price of a video card. The computer was barely used. People pays premium for new stuff.
@@qua7771 I'm interested in buying stocks. Do you have any RUclips stock advisors that you favor? I have no trust in advisors these days but some time you can get leads on stocks and do your own research.
I look back fondly on the days of computer fairs, or even browsing CompUSA, walking around, handpicking your parts, and building your own. I'm not as into now but it was super fun 20 some years ago. And yeah, now I'll just buy prebuilt, less work and really isn't any more expensive.
As to the AS6, I'm a hard core nvidia guy.
LOL, forgot about CompUSA. I used to do the same, keep an eye out for deals. Same here, don't have much interest anymore for building systems. Especially when "flagship" graphics cards and mobos cost as much as they do these days. To spend several thousand every five years or so on upgrading just doesn't make sense anymore. Digging through Slickdeals every month 4 deals.
ETA Prime did a video you might be interested in: "The F12 Edge Micro Gaming PC Is A 14 Core + Nvidia RTX In An Ultra Small Foot Print PC". That's the full title, but I'm not posting a link.
I used a mini computer at work it was great. These also make great multimedia centers due to there size and capabilities. Great to see a review!
exactly - if you want to complete in the latest eSport then these are not for you. However if you a "normal" user, these are superb!
Thanks for this review.
I've personal;y built over 15 computers for myself over the years and most of them were full towers with keyed removable racks
But a couple years ago, a lightning strike destroyed my full tower (I still have the remains of it in my garage) and I've been using an old laptop donated to me ever since..
Al l5 homes in my block suffered electrical damage and even Conmcast had to send out several trucks to repair the damages over several days.
I desperately need the CPU power to be hosting several hypervisor images to be doing my computer labs and making and testing SOC's and various cybersecurity-related training.
I love this guy's take on things; it makes me even love his channel more. Because, I have been thinking these same thoughts. Desktops are huge, and mini SBCs can fit on back of monitors.
Appreciate you being here 🔥
Very cool little computer! I enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work
Appreciate you being here 🔥
I like the mini pc concept, and can use it to steam link from my other pc. This is like the minisforum pc. Thanks for the video!
I did my own tower 2012. I've gone from ribbon to SATA and from HDD to SSD in it. I'm still running 4g RAM just fine. If I did an "Upgrade", with MB, Processor, and RAM, I'd still be under $840. I'll stick with what I've got. While I obviously do YT, I don't game at all. Thanks for the video, to know the options.
Wow! Im actually impressed.
A larger PC with room for expansion should not be ignored, especially if you think you might upgrade. Many of my older PCs have had a second life reconfigured for another use e.g. as a NAS and for that extra drive bays are very welcome. Also remember you pay extra for small.
Mini PCs also have room for expansion. The memory can be upgraded just as easily as it can in a desktop. Extra hard drives can be added and some even have the ability to add an external graphics card. Obviously they don't have the ability to replace a desktop size computer in every situation. However they definitely have the ability to find a "second life" as you say.
I definitely don't think we're seeing "the end of the desktop PC" quite yet but I think it's the beginning of the end. The prices will continue to come down and the smaller size will eventually become the norm. At least that's my opinion. I'm not saying you're wrong about the usefulness of a desktop. I have one myself. But I think eventually the vast majority of people with a desktop in their home will have one of these minis as opposed to a big tower.
@@HeavyInstinct
I dont know man, as most cheap stuff will be always be bigger, and larger stuff=more stuff can be added,
the smaller it is the more high tech it is and price will always be bigger because of that. So both in terms of power and in terms of price larger desktops will win out. Not saying there wont be any interest for a these tiny things some people have the money for it, and the are willing to pay. Maby in the future when power becomes so high that it looses importance and value.
Budget prebuilt systems can offer a lot for under $1000. More for your money than a mini PC. I think mini PCs are great if you want a new computer at a very low price. If you are going to be spending over $500 you would be better off buying a desktop assuming portability is not a concern.
I think this is better than a desktop for a senior like men. I do day to day stuff, movies, music, Office 365, simple photo touch up. I don't game on any pc I've had. I use a gaming console. Thanks for the video and Happy New Year, wink.
Wow that's Perfect.Thx a lot for Sharing!
thanks for watching!
@@LironSegev very Much Pleasure!💪💪💪💪💪💪
A couple of years ago when the Rona was gaining steam, my data entry job sent us to work from home. They had these little back boxes. I asked, "Is that the router?" "No, it's the computer." Although the cheap company did not want to pay for a dedicated connection and sponged of my home setup, the lags and weirdness were not the fault of the computer as far as I could tell. It would have been interesting if I had been able to have other software and see how it performed.
Buy one of those fancy cases, and stick a Mini Palace in it!!
Except for mice and keyboard, every usb port (A or C) should be Thunderbird 4 (or in the case of USB A, whatever is the highest USB A supports).
I bought an HP mini PC in 2020 and it's excellent as you'd expect from a major brand. I bought a lower power one from Amazon to use as a media server last year. I don't need or want large boxes cluttering my home office.
Love it
I am going to miss the Desktop. The new one may be smaller, but it has fewer ports and being more compact might mean that heat managing is less efficient. Anyway, it will just not be the same, but that is just life, I guess...
These machines already use significantly LESS energy, thus lower wattage. IF you need more USB connectivity, add a hub; or shop around for a model that has the connectivity that you want. Not only do these machines use significantly less power, the noise signature is insanely low in most cases. I left my Dell desktop on for about the first two months of use; but in the end, I ended up turning it off because I wasn't using it. The room became so quiet it was unbelievable. For the past 5 years prior, that desktop ran 24x7. Had completely forgotten how quiet the room was with it off. Hardcore gamers are going to want to look elsewhere. But for most everything else, these mini's can hold their own.
I've been laptopping since 2007 and have never missed my behemoth floor-top-tower-sitting-beside-and-half-as-tall-as-my-desk that still takes up too much real estate in my storage unit...
Desktop will never go away. Honestly how many years have people been saying that? As long as I can remember
It will be a long time before they "go away". However I don't think it will be very long before anyone in the market for a desktop PC other than a hardcore gamer is going to be choosing one of these machines.
I play a lot of games. I was looking for a new laptop until I saw these mini PCs that could be on-the-go. Everything seemed great until I read and saw that they can get riotously hot because of all that juice cramped in a small form factor.
Building desktop is getting to be a thing of the past.. These mini PCs are compact, portable and powerful enough for most people. 😊👍
For me: Yes. I am using a HX99G since a few months now, and I am totally happy with it. For sure, it´s not the same performance as a high end PC, but microchips came so far nowadays, that FullHD (not 4K) gaming is absolutely possible with all details, even in modern AAA games, on Ultra, or at least, mostly at high @ stable 60fps. 8core, or even 12core CPU´s with up to 5 GHZ, tiny dedicated GPU solutions (RX6600M, 8GB RAM on the HX99G), and super fast RAM, M.2 NVME SSDs will result in very fluid operation. For sure, there are people, who want to play in 4k and with 144Hz/fps, especially online in competitive fps games. For them, there will be always a market. But for the masses, I would say, a MiniPC will do the job very fine, with low temps, low noise levels and - most important, these days: With very low energy use, and with much lower energy costs. And my rig is running at leat 15-20 hours daily, 365 days a year. That sums up!
Can I use my laptop as a monitor and speaker for it? Or do I need to buy those things separately?
Great little unit for a really good price. You don’t need all the colored lights anyway. The only reason I get desktop sized cases is to stash a bunch of hard drives to create a NAS, and that’s only for the convenience of moving them around all at once.
Good stuff
As much as I like these mini systems, most people who need them are better served by other alternatives, such as a laptop (which has a built in screen, speakers and Webcam) a tv dongle (which is simple and connects well with your phone) a console (better gaming performance). This is really only useful for people who need the monitor real estate while needing moderate computing power.
A mobile phone has screen speakers and webcam, you don't need a dongle with a smart TV, and the best games are on PC anyway with hardware requirements coming down, while tech improves.
"best games are on pc"is debatable - a matter of opinion really. As for requirements going down, this is just wrong - the new generation of consoles, unreal engine 5 and ray tracing are already massively increasing HW requirements and will continue to do so. Just look at vram requirements in hogwarts legacy and the last of us pc port or Spiderman remastered.
I love how you speak for "most people"...actually "most people" want value for thier money. A laptop of similar specs is much more expensive. "most people" connect it to an external monitor and keyboard anyways. Also "most people" dont have a need for portable - they work in the office or at home. Also "most people" dont want to pay insane repair bills when a laptop breaks. So instead of saying "most people", you could say "hey personally, I prefer X"
Dare I say no. I bet that businesses will be their main customers and if you want to look down on your screen for 8 hours while holding your hands like a rodent, go for it, but these definitely have a market. Most homes would find this more than good enough.
@@LironSegev don't get me wrong, it's not my opinion, I'm describing the market reality here. These have been around since the Intel Atom days, and they never stuck - this much is not opinion, as you can see the sales of devices of this category VS sale of laptops, it's like 10:1. My comment describes *why* this is (they are in a bit of a no man's land). But again, don't take my word for it, just see the sales number over the last 10 years for this device class.
Thanks buddy
Appreciate you being here 🔥
That would handle 99.9% of my computing needs! What about the .1% of my "need" that's left? Haven't a clue! The price is fabulous, too. Thanks for the eye-opener... another great video. 😎
🤣
The next generation of Ryzen will have RDNA3 ; should be a good pick up from the current RDNA2 which is still better than that of even 1 1/2 years ago. If you are into video games, that require demanding hardware, well, buy once, cry once ( get the rig that you truly desire. ). Even then, these mini-pc's will save you $$$ on power, on noise, and handle most chores for you nicely. IF I needed a gaming rig, I'd still keep the mini- use it for all normal tasks, and keep the gaming rig on only when I needed it.
Always get surprised on seeing empty space in psu cabinet. Companies want to show it big. Same is happening with motherboard too.
Any one has seen old floor mills? Compair with new compact floor machine which is just enough for grinding wheels.
I started using mini-computers (both Chromebox and Windows based) about ten years ago as a multimedia center. I prefer using them over Roku, FiireStick, or RUclipsTV devices.
I recently purchased an intel version of one of these made by a company called Bee-Link. It has 10 core and 32gb of ram, upgradable to 62. I am running a high end music production digital audio workstation software. It runs like a dream. No issues what-so-ever. I certainly see no need for the old desktop.
I haven’t built a tower in 15+ years and even laptops seem dated. I have been working with mini PCs and SBCs though. I think that’s where things are headed.
Dude, the link you have goes to a site that says you might need a power adaptor, do we here in Australia ?
cool,I will buy GEEKOM AS 6
does it have a CPU fan, and if not, do we need one for optimal performance?
I used to be a high end gamer, not so much anymore but I still like to dabble but nothing too graphics intensive. I'm guessing the graphics are a similar sort of architecture to Intel's Iris? And can you allocate a specific amount of RAM to graphics?
Where do I find the video at 3:57 for "Play RETRO games on your PC! Donkey Kong...."? I' searched your youtube site but I can't seem to find it. Thanks!!
Hi how do you think this would handle running a DAW ,recording music etc?
When my plex server and file server dies it will be replaced with a mini pc, when my router dies same mini pc and pfsense.. But idk if these can replace a traditional desktop. If they have thunderbolt you can do mini pc + external gpu...
I have been thinking about getting one of theses mini PCs for myself.
I have used mini pcs for years now and now that they are getting proper processors, ram and storage, they are really a great option.
It is clearly powerful for it seize, it's absolutely impressive. 😎💯👍
It sure is!
I have a different type of minipc, about the size of your average computer fan, or a laptop hard drive. The issue with that is, there's essentially no gaming allowed. No fans, so it heats up pretty quickly. That, at least, looks like it has a fan or fans in it. I know it can play a game, but for how long?
Also, the price wasn't listed. It's not much less than the computer I just bought from Cosco, and about the same price as the only other one on the shelves, the one that wasn't for gaming. One piece of information that maybe you should list is the vram. Most low spec games run on under 1g, but many Unity games, and No Man's Sky runs on at least 4. Most of the rigs I've seen for around $1k had about 8g vram, and this one is 12 with an integrated Nvidia card.
Fun fact, and I know this may be seem impossible to believe, but not everyone wants a gaming computer.
There are in fact dozens of people who actually want a computer for work.
Can you believe that? Imagine people who don't really care about No Man's Sky or Call of Duty.
Seriously. Dozens.
Never ever used or played any games on any computer nor care to play . These games which were designed for military use in the 1980s were released to the public for profit and totally destroy peoples senses to commit crimes and easily murder people . This was argued for many years but no one listened or cared . profit before safety. Same goes for virtual reality . Never ever use it it will destroy your reality . Facts .
Unless I missed it in the documentation, I see no on board TPM for the higher security Bitlocker function..I really like the concept of the smaller PC but that would be a deal breaker for me.
Well. Windows 11 pro is on it so assume it does. I didn't check
A good machine for the price, although the gpu is a gtx 1050 ti equivalent so some folks might want a traditional pc for more powerful graphics. But for a lot of games it's fine. Build times for Unreal Engine might be a little long since there's not many cores, but there's certainly enough memory and storage.
how come cpu temperatures where not shared?
I'd want to know how much less power the mini pc uses vs my old desktop.
I bought a mini computer like that. It was a cheap Chinese brand. It works just fine, but on occasion the fan is very noisy. I now just use it for apps that don't run on Windows 11 since this is a Windows 10 box. Apps like my ancient video system and my fitbit synchronizer.
Will this handle native 4K video in Premiere Pro with effects?
I'm going to grab one of those mini pc's so I can move my main desktop to Linux but I'll need to keep a windows box around and don't want to run it in a VM. Low power, take up next to no space and depending on which one you get a igpu that is decent for low end gaming. Won't be replacing my 'workstation' desktop anytime soon but they the good ones are great for what they are.
smart move - I now dual boot into this box. One for Kali Linux and the other Windows 11.
That's amazing Liron you could bring that with you when you travel. looks really impressive to me👍👍🆒🆒
Exactly!
Laptops are better for travel because it has the monitor built in.
I Just want to say a little bit of feedback when you have showed the gaming performance.
1. Fps counter 3rd party software or the inbuilt steam fps counter shows how well the game runs
2. Games are usually mostly reliant on the GPU. You can see the massive difference in GPU-0 on the task manager 3:27 (before) and 5:15.
3. Mentioning like the graphics settings are set by which is usually high, medium, low or custom.
Overall great video, I just want to mention these parts in the performance of playing a game that you have missed. Hope you hit 1M.
Thanks for the notes John! As I said, I don't do "benchmarks" - its not that kind of channel :) I use devices in the real world for weeks before I make the video showing my experience.
Obviously gamers will want a dedicated GPU. For a non-gamer who likes to play here and there, I ran my games without any issues.
Are games playable without stutter? yes mostly at 1920x1080. Change it to higher res and they do.
Will I train with this for an upcoming eSports event? nope.
Will I continue to get smoked in Counter Strike? definitely
how about the heating issue? you didn't discuss it in your video. thanks for the info
In all the time I have used it, heating wasn't an issue. The design is really good at ventilation. I used it for 5 hours straight editing a video in Premiere Pro and no probs
@@LironSegev Thank you :)
What about playing DVDs? What about installing programs from a CD? What about multiple monitors? I use 3 monitors with my desktop. Web camera? Mic? Would I run out of ports to hook everything up? What about speakers?
It can handle 4 monitors. If you have an external dvd player that plugs into USB then that should work.
I've used these types of pcs at work and they work fine but and save space at the workplace but for gaming or being portable, standard options are better.
Also, with your example Liron, Counterstrike isn't exactly high-end gaming as the game has been out forever. I'm pretty sure it won't be able to handle more modern games that are of the higher end fairly well.
Did you know that there are dozens of people around the world, who don't play games and actually use computer for work?
I know. It seems impossible to believe that not everyone in the world wants to squad up in Call of Duty.
What is the world coming to when there are people who just want to be allowed the pleasure of just having a bit of fun on whatever game they like without judgement.
How dare they?
@@LironSegev exactly, only use my PC for emails, movies & the tomb raiders, doom, quake basically FPS.
@@LironSegev when you say something can run "modern" games, don't try to pass off a game so old that even half a decade old PCs with internal graphics can run it at max fps as a benchmark.
It comes without a VGA port?
So this would work with streaming software like obs and streamyard? My laptop runs like garbage when I stream.
I edited for 5 hours in Premiere Pro with no issues, I assume it will handle obs
Hi, what was the keyboard you showed at the beginning of the video.

I like mmini pc it just sits there saying I can do a lot more than you think I can it really spooked me out when I 1st heard ir say that😊
Can I just attach it to my laptop or PS4?
With Microcenter built computers if a part fails you can swap out the parties if you are a technie or take it into Microcenter to fix. What happens with Geekom? Where do you have to phone? If it needs to be sent in for repairs under warranty does it have to be sent back to China or do they have a depot in the USA/Canada?
They do have US warehouses and provide a 1 year warranty. The have customer service 9:00 -19:00 CST (Mon-Fri). Geekom has also been around for a long time, so they have loads of experience with this kind of stuff vs some of the other brands who are new to the mini pc world.
@@LironSegev Problem I am in Canada and sending anything back to USA is a PIA due to customs delcarations and whether the company sending item back indicates item is a RMA so I do not get dinged for taxes a second time.

Lion can you help me with an app AFK App for movies and TV but g can't get the same as last time ⌚ i would be grateful if you could help. Thanks James
3:20 ya but who even uses more than 1Gb lan? 2.5Gbe is overkill. Maybe in future..?
What about fan noise and longevity? That's a lot of heat in a small package
I edited a video for 5 hours with not a single issue. Ventilation and power management is really good and even recording this video you can't hear any of the noise from the unit (the mic would have picked that up).
Very limited in design and expansion wise, its like having a very powerful cellphone hooked to a big screen. Not much to work with.
I wont downsize from a desktop until I can get my 10GBe network connection option. None seem to do this. I use it for my NAS is anyone is asking why.
What does “powered by ASUS” mean?
Do they make one that has 5.1 surround sound? I bought one and it keeps overheating. I think the fan is not secured firmly to the possessor. Watch out of cheaply made versions.
100%. I don't trust just any mini pc. I like the ones that have been around for a long time like Geekom.
I'll have to find the brand I bought and post it here to help protect you viewers. Also, have you seen one with 5.1 sound? I do like the idea of them.
I haven't. It's not really their main focus would be my guess since most don't even have an adiou out. But just my view
I prefer the laptop option since I can hook up anything I want and be easily portable when needed. I doubt that this mini can do more than my laptop. If I need more power, then I'm going to get a full PC and build what I want. As far as using it to make any TV a Smart TV, well they're pretty cheap to just buy a TV for $ 3-400. I didn't notice the price so I'm going to guess that this mini computer is more expensive than a TV.
k
Yeah, these minis don't have dedicated GPU's and that's kind of their main drawback, but they're definitely good for day to day use and dare I say even better because their power draw is miniscule compared to that of a full tower. Of course, gaming on such a machine will not give the greatest framerates, but it can surely run crysis. You got to give it to them, they did a pretty good job on this one and I wouldn't be surprised if these become a go to option for most homes in the future. Of course, businesses will definitely opt for these as they always have, but with the way things have been going the market seems to be growing for domestic use too.
I still prefer and love old desktops. I will still buy them over the new computers. But it must be at least P4 and have Windows XP installed. The more installed connectivity the better. They are flexible enough for my research. No Windows 10 or 11 (they can't do what I need)! Servers with Xeon are also exceptable. Fully functional only. Showroom quality.
I am absolutely not interested in any of the new mini machines. Old laptops too (same condition).
I'm also looking for one sharp local tech to keep them humming.
You buy what you want/need. That's what I want. I use them two at a time.
You have one of the most interesting accents ive ever heard. It's like east Indian, south African and something else ?
Its amazing listening to you.
(I hope i didnt offend you, i legit think your accent is amazing no jokes)
😂 It's South African, UK, and USA mixed
I decided to spring for a Mini-PC about a month ago. Wanted a Windows 11 machine. But a smaller footprint.
After a few issues with some machines (mostly Fan and Ethernet instability), I finally got one from AceMagician. So far, no problems. I hooked it up to My Lg 65" and Nakamichi Shockwafe Soundbar. Also bought a Bluetooth/Wireless Mouse/Keyboard Combo.
I still have My old HP Desktop which I installed with Linux Mint some years ago.
But this Mini-PC has been a BLAST so far.
And it's also upgradeable. Which was also what I wanted.
Epic 🎉
My (aging) laptop is starting to struggle, my PC was top notch . . . 25 years ago (and is still loaded with Windows Me) . . . One of these might just be what I need for photo editing :)
I actually have both Photoshop and Premiere Pro loaded on it and works like a dream. This guy can do 4 monitors too (I have it plugged into two) so if you want options, you have them.
I would be interested to know how this would cope running DaVinci Resolve and making basic 1080p edits.
this would work just fine. i have a ryzen 7 mini pc and it can run davinci resolve doing 1080p edits...might struggle with 4k video though but it's not impossible. it just may take longer....on this particular pc i'm sure it can do 4k without much struggle if at all.
I have Premiere Pro on it and it works great for my 1080p videos.
You'll have to forgive me if this comes across as a stupid question(am NOT the kind of tech expert I wish I could be, lol)but... can you get this with windows 7? you showcased it having windows 10 & 11, does this mean you CAN'T have it with w7? I've been feeling a bit paranoid that my desktop machine may one day bite the dust... and its kinda been subconsciously eating away at me... am also curious of this type of machine's longevity, how long can it last before it succumbs to hard drive damage or other components just break? and if you HAVE to get this with w10 or 11, do the updates on these newer os's still kill your machine with bloat over time? or.. have they stopped doing that with the updates? is there even a way to actually TURN these updates off? last I checked... there were settings to turn that shit off in w10 but they DIDN'T actually work. . .
...am scared for my future. . . .
I have no idea if it will run Windows 7. Since these mini pc use solid state drives of some type, they are less susceptible to damage like a hard drive of the olden days. Updates are a must but you can disable non-essential updates and just get the security updates.
@@LironSegev THANKS for the tip! I feel invested now...
Man, i was like you once, as i mentioned in my 1st comment my 1st desktop PC was a pentium 3 from 20 yrs ago which came with windows XP (it took 3-5 min just to boot up... I'm not kidding)...
windows 10 has been discontinued and will no longer be supported soon (if it hasn't been already) so i wouldn't bother putting it on 1 of these mini pc's since a lot of software and hardware that you might need will no longer work for it...
Don't be afraid of new technology. Your best bet is to go for it and learn as you go by following channels like this one on RUclips...there are a lot of inexpensive mini pc's to choose from that might suit your needs...mine was only $337
@@lexlopez15 "software and hardware that you might need will no longer work for it"? my needs have been as simple as firefox for my browsing, youtube and my version 5.1.1 of minetest(later versions aren't supported for w7 anymore, but doesn't matter. each time you move up, older mods just break. WOULDN'T move up even if I had that option).
As far as needing newer hardware and software goes... I haven't been needing much of anything really. though... thanks for the pep talk I guess. though, sooner or later am not gonna have much choice in the matter as soon as my computer inevitably becomes toast. . .
@@TheDeepThinker-sq3iy in that case, you can get 1 of those cheap mini PC's for about $150 and save yourself hundreds of dollars in the process since the one he shows here goes for about $1000.

What is your thoughts please?
yes it can...some mini pc's can even handle 4 screens...depends on the number of ports it comes with.

( i don't know what to do with that monstrous tower)..last time i turned it on it struggled to run flappy bird.😄 Anyhow, my current pc feels like i can hack NASA compared to those...i doubt i will have a need to upgrade again for another 10 yrs or so.

It depends on what you do with it and how long you use it. Mini PCs are likely fine for most people, but electronics do get hot. These aren't going to work if you do a lot of gaming or graphics intensive work. It's like smart phones. Manufacturers throttle the performance on a lot of higher end phones because they would overheat.
I don't game, but I do a lot of video editing. I edited for about 5 hours yesterday and forgot it was on the mini pc. No issues. Ventilation is really good with this design.
It's a 35 watt CPU and the whole PSU is 150w, heat dissipation should not be an issue in this form factor since there is active cooling.
I had to move in other country ,so mini PC (600 $) look perfect for my plans. Now 4 years later same mini PC still work as a new ... and for gaming prefer PS4 if i want to waste my time .
Looking for a mini pc that can drive at least two monitors. Any such beast?
This one can do 4. So yeah.
how does it handle games like rdr2 with all the graphics settings on ultra at 2k res or above?
CS is far from the heaviest game to run, it sure looks fine for an office worker and a casual sunday night gamer.
but what about the rest, where is it lacking?
this review comes across as alittle biased
Ok Liron mate I am not a fan of those small sized computer because I am aiming at staying old school approach, and besides these devices leave little room to tweak the components inside.
ok John
It may be ok if you do basic stuff but it'll never replace a desktop for any kind of serious purposes. And even previous-gen games (that use eg Unreal Engine 4) would choke it. I don't even understand people making music using a laptop ...
Define "serious purposes"
How about video editing for a RUclips channel using Premiere Pro, b-roll footage, and multiple cameras? Is that serious?
Or how about live streaming a podcast on multiple platform?
or how about running an offsite backup NAS for continuous backup in a DMZ?
yeah..."gaming" is not "serous purposes" and there are literally dozens of people who don't game but actually do use these machines for actual "serious purposes"
the size of your pc matters- if you take 3 nm components an take all the room of your FULL TOWER case you will get a monster pc for all times :)
I prefer version with desktop CPU. More performance and better cooling. I built my PC based on Asrock DeskMini.
An advantage of a mininpc vs desktop is that it uses less power than a regular desktop it uses less power (watts), so you could be unintentionally save money on electricity bills.
thats true
A typical desktop computer costs about $27/year to leave running continuously. Even high-end desktops typically power parts down so much, even without sleeping, they use almost nothing. Realistically, the power savings on these devices might only be $50 over a five year lifetime. Given the price swings of PCs (from $250 to $5,000+) cost of power is almost nothing.
These specs are pretty solid for the price, how does it compare with Intel NUC? Big fan of mini PCs like this for anything from productivity (email, web, etc) to media to light gaming.
Can there be two screens connected to this mini pc?
Thank you if you could reply
Yup. You can connect 4!
Dear Liron,
Thank you so much for your prompt response
I discovered your channel recently and I am a big fan.
Thank you again
my "desktop" computer is roughly 3 feet (a meter) tall and weighs in at 55 lbs (25kg)! It's fairly loaded down with spinning hard drive anchors.
eh...thats a server rack stuff 👀
@@LironSegev I have one of those too! I have issues... and I'm an addict.
I bought an HP desktop for sale at $500. Has half the storage of your portable unit, but it's more than I need. I don't play video games so I don't need anything fancy. I have 8 usb ports, more than enough.
epic - there is no "one size fits all" - glad you are buying what you need vs what people try tell you MUST have!
Lenovo Thinkcentre was a very fast and small desktop for a cheap price.
I LIKE THIS VIDEO
It's not the end. Desktop computers house extreme PC components such as powerful processors and video cards that have to start big before they're miniaturized and become smaller and smaller to reside in notebooks and thin laptops. Case in point, a gaming laptop or notebook can't beat a gaming desktop in terms of power and heat dissipation.
Well that mini PC has no 15 pin port for my monitor.
Hard to upgrade mini PC's too. Hard to replace bad components too.
External power supplies are NOTORIOUS for failing.
Mini PC's are probably best used for internet activities.
What about temperatures?
Perfly fine. I edited a video for 5 hour in Premiere Pro and no issues.
Did it have built in WiFi?
Yup. Wifi 6e
You should compare it to the M2 Mac mini.
When a headline is a question the answer is almost invariably no. This is no exception.
🤦
Who makes that keyboard? The GEEKOM coupon is not working 😒- Now we need a video on how to move the old programs to a new computer - Please
I know that parking lot! Come on, MicroCenter off 75! That's where I get my computers made!
thats the one! I love that place. its like geek-heaven who takes my money🤪
So where does the 4090 fit?
Wireleasly 😂
