In the early 2010s, Jurgen Klopp put together one of Europe’s most entertaining teams with the likes of Reus, Gotze, and Lewandowski. But what were the tactics behind it? Let’s have a look.

One of my favourite sides in recent years, so entertaining to watch. What are your favourite sides from the 2010s?
So Friday at school my classmates laughed at me when I said that I was gonna make enough money on RUclips to pay for my aunt Lissa breast cancer surgery💔😭 it broke my heart when they laughed and mocked me
But one day I'll surely prove them wrong🙏🏻
Hey FMS....I have seen many times that a 4-4-2 diamond in matches is proving so effective recently....Cruyff advocated it and Zidane is employing it to FAB effect...please make a video on analysis this 4-4-2 DIAMOND FORMATION because even without traditional wingers offering natural width it's so surprising for football tact enthusiasts like me that this formation seems to open defenses or let's say work impactfully in games.
KyleBlade nice money grab kid. Her surgery is long passed hey.
Do a what went wrong with Arsenal
Man city 2013/14
This was definitely the strongest Dortmund team since the one from 1996/97 that won the UCL. Klopp is probably the main reason why Dortmund nowadays has so many fans abroad
Yes 💯 im an lfc fan and klopp fan
And what more shocking. The financial of Dortmund/Mainz change after Klopp era. I can't even think one manager get big farewell (Mainz and Dortmund) just like beloved player. It was so Special. Special Man for special clubs.
@@102006221 no he is not special. He is the normal one.
@@marvingeheim8513 okay okay okay. it's normal for him. And special for some.
I’m an Arsenal fan but I always loved Dortmund years before Klopp. That 96/97 team that beat Juventus in the final were special. Also some of the best fans in the world
Ahhh, the times were the whole country of Poland supported BVB.
Thank you BVB for introducing me to Kuba. The Polska power trio really made this team tick.
Yeah, the Polish connection was really something... I was always looking back at the goals and during those years one of the Polish players was ALWAYS involved in either scoring, assisting or creating goals. Its a shame that Bayern has more money... their football culture sucks.
Dortmund in fifa 12, 13 and 14 were deadly.. Thank you jurgen 😊
Fifa trash
@@joman605 agree...now trash
As a born and raised Dortmunder i give you much respect for your analysis here. You are spot on with it. What we loved the most about this team, is the fact that they will run and fight the whole game. And you specially saw that with Kevin Großkreutz. He wasn't the best footballer overall ... but he had heart and fought for this team. Same goes for Sven "Manni" Bender ♥
Großkreutz was the most versatile footballer I've ever seen. A winger, wide midfielder, central midfielder, fullback, centre back, only striking and goalkeeping were left. In the world of underrated footballers and jacks-of-all-trade, he ranks the highest. 💛🖤💛🖤
That Dortmund had a clear identity, press high, play fast and listen to Heavy Metal.
R. Lewandowski that was a 10/10 transfer to Dortmud and clearly he changed everything. Overall this polish trio Lewandowski, Blaszczykowki and Piszczek was a wonderful and very dangerous trio in Dortmund back then. Missing those days! Love Dortmund since then.
I really loved that Dortmund....
Jurgen klopp made tge whole of Europe admires of dortmund what a special man and the foundation he built there still lasts today in Europe every season pity they haven't won the bundesliga since I wonder would he ever go back maybe when its all done at Liverpool would be great to see if he could topple bayern Munich once again
So proud that Jurgen never left dortmund for bayern they tried to get him countless times and even since he's been at Liverpool he has said bayern tried to sign him twice he never sold his soul for money and dominance he just woke up sleeping giants and brought them to the very top
Yeah man he coaching @ Liverpool pro bono. He just dont want Bayern money. If its only Bundesliga he would wventually became Bayern Coach
Klopp's Dortmund was such a fun team to play in FIFA
Real fact
I used them all the time
I thought I was the only one
Among my friends I was the only one that used Dortmund
Fifa 13 was the year I started playing and started following dortmund
I loved this dortmund team after we played them in the groupstage back in 2012-13 season
It's probably the club team that left the biggest impression in my mind, dortmund was playing a very fluid and beautiful football. Reus was on fire, Piszczek was extremely solid on the right, just to name a few...
At the time, I witnessed the birth of the legend Lewandowski,I still remember his hat-trick against real madrid and the last minute goal versus malaga. Their UCL campaign was extraordinary till this cruel loss against their rival in final
One of the best teams and their football was amazing . He brought thing Outta players and made them special. TBH I prefer this team over Liverpool but guy went unnoticed for a whole long period of time untill he won UCL. He's a class manager and his work with Dortmund was on another level .
If I get 50% from you and 50% from tifo, does that mean that I can get the Athletic for free 😅
Don't forget Rabona TV
Steve George so will we get extra money if we sub to The Athletic
Lmao
50% off and again 50% off would be 75% off and so on. Never comletly free
that makes no sense...
Do an insight on Kagawa please, he was interstellar under Klopp but was underperforming at United.
Agreed
That would be very interesting!
Kagawa was great in fergie's last season, showed his quality in 2013 Until moyes ruined him
They played a direct , dynamic and fast pace style of football the most entertaining football.
Finally
Could you kindly do LVG's Bayern 09-10 and the tiki-taka Barcelona and Guardiola's Bayern?
Great suggestions
Really very good job! Thank you
Making me feel old this team was something else.
Great analogy throughly enjoyed
Your analysis was definitely amazing but I would like to suggest you to add some in game moments which reflects the tactics you showed. This will make it more entertaining.Otherwise it was pretty good.
loved this team...quite nostalgic
This team is the reason why I love this sport so much 🥺
I miss this passion in Dortmund...
Please do Arsenal 03/04 next
That Polish right-side was devastating! Piszczek Błaszczykowski and Lewandowski!
side note, I know a South African accent when I hear one :)
Hi Football Made Simple. Love your tactical analysis keep up your good work.👏👏👏
Thanks Miguel!
@@FootballMadeSimple No problem are u going to do the Manchester derby?
Kloppo is THE Manager of the moment!
Subscribed. Thanks for the amazing content! A great suggestions off the top of my head is Arsene Wenger's invincibles (Arsenal 03/04). A statistical comparison with the unbearables (current Liverpool) would be the icing on the [marvelous] cake! Cheers mate!
Brilliant work. Love your channel. Keep up the good work 😊
Thanks a lot
One more great vid
You re becoming a personal favourite 👌💪😁
Thanks mate!
Masterpiece video
Thanks Leo!
My favorite team ever, EVER, and Reus my favorite player ever, EVER, ECHTE LIEBE!!
Everyone's favorite team in Fifa 13, 14
Mourinho's Chelsea in first stint
Great video! Been waiting for a Klopp Dortmund analysis for a long time. Please make one for Wolves
Can you guys do current bvb tactics again
Real's ucl hattrick winning side! (also 4 in five years) no team has achieved this... Please do make one on this❤️
Easy: Casemiro.
The only season they didn`t win at this period was when Casemiro was loaned out to Porto.
(Of course amazing players like Ronaldo and co help, but Casemiro was a game changer for their playstyle)
@@jekro1 then what about now. He is still there
@@alenajith3958 yeah and they are still increadable depending on him
@@jekro1 now, there are many teams like them
But they won unfairly in 2016 & 2017 tho, not to mention they weren't very dominant in la liga, they just showed up in the UCL and got lucky
Nice video content, really football educational.
Can you do a video Bob Paisley's Liverpool or on Carlo Ancelotti's AC Milan.
BvB💛🖤
Hey I‘d like to see about the transformation of Getafe! Would be great!👍🏻💪🏻👌🏻
Please do a video on difference between center forward and strikers....
Wrong starting11 in the '12 Cup final tho, Reus wasn't playing for Dortmund until 13.
Leicester 2015-16, Fulham 2009-10 Europa League, Montpellier 2011-12, Liverpool 2013-14, Wales Euro 2016, Greece Euro 2004, AS Monaco 2016-17 and Burnley 2017-18. Just a few I can think of that'll be good.
Inter 2010 please
Great suggestion
This was the best dortmund..and i still wonder how they didn't won the champio ns league against bayern
Anunciaron el fichaje de Gotze, 1 semana antes de jugarse la semifinal contra el Madrid para desestabilizar al Dortmund y luego Mario se lesiona y no juega la final.
i think 2011 is not pronounced as twenty-twenty.
I see so many similarities in Liverpool. What a tactical genius.
Kagawa was the mastermind
Guardiola's Barcelona definitely applied gegenpressing well before 2010. It was one of the most important things as they wanted to always have ball possession.
Klopp started the gegenpressing in 2008. Guardiola started his coaching career in 2008 so you are talking shite.
5:44 Jakub Blaszczykowski*, Kuba was just a nickname
Sad that gotze got injured and didnt play the champions league final game
I feel for Gotze.
Ancelloti’s double winning Chelsea team next please. In terms of a side who went out every game to utterly destroy their opponents they are up there as one of the best I’ve seen and are so underrated and that’s coming from a spurs fan
What was their biggest win under ancelloti?
Like a single match scoreline
@@william_SMMA I think it was the 8-1 vs Wigan on the final day
Great idea!
@@mellowfellow4956 oh shit😂😂
I never associated ancelloti with high scoring attacking football
I just thought he's the type to bring results whilst losing few games
Well. He did beat guardiola 4-0
8-0
kloop made Lewendawoski
Yo what about pep's Barcelona can you a breakdown of Thier tactics
Negreira y Ovrebo master class
Could u do a video about Mourinho possibly managing Celtic
Athletico 2014
Reus lewa and godze❤❤
Kagawa
That klopp quote 😅
Would be great to be coverage of Glasgow Celtic's treble treble teams.
I don't think we appreciate how much Pep and Klopp changed football. Managers like Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson, Capello etc were truly great managers in their prime but they never changed football. Now nearly every successful team in the world plays similar to a Guardiola or a Klopp team imo.
How Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Lahm and Robben made Bayern great again
@TASK FORCE KNIGHT say what????
@TASK FORCE KNIGHT 7-0 vs Prime barca, NEVER FORGET
@@TheTH3KILL3Rz messi was injured and their coach just died from cancer like...

Chelsea 2009-2011 Carlo Anceloti era. Make it please. 🙏💯
If it wasnt financial problems and bayern buying off their best players.... Kloops dortmund wouldve been so much better
Hope this will help my u9s
Klopp is much better than fraudiola
@Football Made Simple
could you do an analysis on why Dortmund were unsuccessful in the 2011/12 campaign?
Pero si esa temporada ganó el doblete liga y copa.
Klopp is just a world class coach. Maybe the best right now. His Dortmund side was destined to win the CL. They were very talented. If were could stick together they could win the CL because Kloop was one of the view coaches that was introducing the Gegenpressing.
But the best team was Jupp Henyke's Bayern 2013. They lost three(!) games in the entire season. They destroyed Pep's Barca (after he left) with 7-0 in two games.
Gosh, I hate Bayern...
Plz make a video on what Thomas tuchel dd as the Dortmund coach
Leicester 2016
Can you Pep's Barca...Tactics...Classic
I am thinking that if Darwin Nunez really proves to be an automatic starter in our team then Klopp can revert back to the 4-2-3-1 especially since Nunez is a younger version of Lewandowski. However, we do not have enough creative midfielders unless Firmino, Keita and Harvey Elliot step up to help Thiago in the No. 8 role.
Klopp was so good at Dortmund. I wonder what he's been up to since he left
word on street is that he wants to win Premiership or some shit. I never heard of that league so it's probably some farmers league.
@@JaculaDudek yeah atleast he will bring some technical football to that farmers league
He said: If I think that I can't help a team anymore, I will leave. He left because after "that" amazing season Dortmund struggled to get champioms league football.
please do ac milan 2003-2007
Jorge Jesus was using the same tactics at Benfica in 09/10.
Klop explaind everything.
I would like to see the Classic Chelsea of Mourinho.
Capello's Madrid should be next imo
Can someone build this tactic in fm20 and link it here? I'm using team from lower league.
Can you do sir alex ferguson 1999
Bro how cruff changes football plzzz make a video on that
Germany 2014
i grosskeutz? el jugaba muchisimo
Are you South African?
the majority of BVB's international fanbase have come from the Klopp era.
good shit bro but you still make so many little mistakes both in your visual presentation and your narration lol you need a proofreader or some sorta quality control bad
Great video - More of the same... more cult teams
Brendan Rodgers Liverpool Please
Could you please make the Arsenal team in 2012-2015. They played one of the most beautiful football imo.
Liverpool tactics i need
Klopp is a beast tactician usually he wants his team to have the ball and recover it fast
Here is a good piece about pressing high
101-tactics.com/2020/06/06/gegenpressing-modern-footballs-pressing-tactic/
His first masterpiece was Mainz
Look what happen to dortmund right now especially their record against bayern at allianz arena after klopp
So what happened? Play in the Cl every year and are the 2nd best team in Germany, it's perfect, thank you Jürgen for your hard work👍
@@joman605 they static.. i mean they still on the same level like jurgen days.. during klopp days.. dortmund at least make bundesliga looks competitive... and after klopp left... dortmund still on the same zone.. the need to step forward and do something to make bundesliga look competitive... and they must consistent... bundesliga looks competitive not because other team strong.. but bayern slow down their momentum...
@@zubairzamri6360no tiene el suficiente dinero para retener a sus mejores jugadores.
The fuck is Klopp smoking.Bayern was never a gegenpressing team, they always have been a possesion based team and mainly since Van Gaal came to Bayern.
I hate Bayern , Imagine How big Dortmund Would be wirhout selling the best Players to Bayern
Especially Lewandowski!
JaceKonrad Lewandowski went on a free transfer, not really Bayern’s fault
@@mcd6163 yes I agree but he could extend his contract with Borrusia Dortmund and he didn't because he was already after word with Bayern. Anyway is no point to blame Bayern now because the last decision was made by Lewandowski and if not interest by Bayern which he chose Lewandowski will be more likely in Real Madrid just after Dortmund which will be dream come true:)
Some one once said u cant play rock n roll football throughout the season. Players will burnout.
2 more wins n he will eat his words
