In this new year reset I am cleaning, decluttering and organizing my home!
Put your gift wrap supplies on the top shelf out of sight since this is not used daily. Keep all the boxes for games. You can resale them them much easier, and I think it is more pleasing to the eye and also easier for your kids to choose than to use those plastic containers. Also, the games are better stacked horizontally. That way, the pieces don't fall out or get messed up on the inside.
I had to chuckle at the 42 pens you left in junk drawer!
Oh man, there was a ridiculous amount. I ended up sending half of them with my husband to work 🤣
My mom kept the gift bags in a box. It made it very easy to flip through. Small bags in the front. Largest in the back. Worked for us. Great job working in your home!
For your gift bags: a file folder system? That way you can flip through them. You could do this by season, event, size, etc. or all of the above!
It's 9.23 pm here in Spain and I want to declutter right now 3 drawers of my kitchen. My husband is looking at me like 🤔🤔 hahaha. I don't keep bags or present papers or tissue paper, all goes to recycle bins. Big kiss and happy 2024.
Try getting a wrapping paper storage organizer! That’s what I have for our wrapping paper, tissue paper and gift bags! It would probably fit right on the shelf you have it on now to even an over the door hanger kind!
So happy for your family going to Disney! I haven’t been in ages! I store by gift bags and tissue in a big paper bag with handles. It’s still easy enough to thumb through to find a bag you want. 😊

I also started decluttering my kitchen cabinets and drawers. Only gave away few things because last year I gave so much away. I plan on decluttering my bathroom closet and under the sink. Thank you for the motivation!😊

the DUVET COVER! If nobody has told you yet, I'm about to make your day! I used to do it just like you. Such a pain. Then a cleaning lady taught me: Lay out your duvet. Turn the cover INSIDE OUT. Then put your arms INSIDE the cover and reach all the way until you find and grab the two FAR CORNERS. Now hold the corners as you also grab two corners of the duvet. (So now you have a corner of duvet and a corner of cover in each hand) Now hold on for DEAR LIFE and shake shake shake until the cover turns rightside out. Now you'll only have to straighten out one short end. LIFE CHANGING 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Wait, what, not everyone is doing it this way? I live in Germany and every mother teaches this to their children and for once in my life I feel ahead of other countries 😅😅😅
Your duvet is quite big so I'm not sure if this would work, but I turn the duvet cover around, put my hands in to the farthes corners, grab two duvet corners and flip the cover over. Hopefully it makes sense and you find it useful. Have a nice day :)
How about a large clear rectangular bin or box to store the gift bags vertically? You could sort them by size if required.
Or, just keeping the gift bags. You buy a bin. That’s not declutterring. That’s adding to the problem, not the solution.
I think this would be a good way to clean them up!!
For an inexpensive fix for your gift bags - chose a larger size & store all the other bags inside...you could even categorize them by holiday if you want to get that particular.
For the gift bags I use a large container and put it on the bottom of my closet and group then by category. That way they stay nice and organized.

I store all of my gift bags in a milk crate in a closet. They are easy to flip through & find what I need.

I have one of those longer bins on wheels that could go in your closet or under your bed. That is my decorating short long bin that I keep wrapping paper, tape, scissors, tags, bows etc. boxes and bags too.
How were you able to clean the rooms with the dog? He was so hilarious.
You could try storing the gift bags the same way that they do in the store. Hanging them up the possibility’s of what to use are endless. I have a pants hanger with four hanging rods on it , lots of room to store multiple kinds of bags.

For the gift bags I kinda have a closet like that and what I do is get the hangers with the clips and sort them in categories like birthday anniversary baby shower and clip them other with the clips on the hanger and hang them or you can even throw them over the hook on the hanger and do it that way … with the clips they lay flat and not as bulky .

hiiii, OMG I share the overwhelming feeling when the mess is so much that one just doesn't know how to start. That was me and it took me several days to get a catch it all room to finally get organised.

We have a low profile rectangular bin from dollar tree that holds all our gift supplies! Bags, tissue paper, cards, bows!
I am definitely grabbing one like that. It will make it look so much more organized!!
For the gift bags in the cupboard- put hooks on the inside of the doors & hang them up
Hey, if you put your duvet cover inside out then hold the to two corners of it with the top two corners of your duvet then just flip it over onto itself it goes on much easier x
I store my gift bags in a tote. I have one for Christmas and another for all other occasions. I put them together in size categories the large ones I fold in half they all fit great. You have a lot of tissue to manage I found I keep one bag full and throw away the rest it’s a cheap replacement if need more

I have seen so many junk drawers on RUclips, but I was past 40 years old before I saw one in real life.
I have spesific areas for the things usually in those drawers.
Just wanted to mention it. I alwaysnwantntomsay something when people say: "we all..." 😉This time, I actually did.

I so badly want to clean along wirh you like I do EVERY SINGLE Friday but, I just had a Nevro Spinal Stimulator trail and permanent implant next week. I have restrictions for 4-6 weeks.
On the flip this could be life changing for my pain levels and then I could get my channel more consistent 😊

Nice video. I keep most of my bags and tissue paper in a long gift box container. It came from Amazon.

I use Target baskets, the ones with the rounded tops, for my gift bags. One for Christmas bags, and one for other bags. I keep the containers in the top of my coat closet with a third container for winter scarves. Three containers fit the top shelf perfectly. I have tried so many different things, and this works the best for me. I don't like hauling out an organizer for gift wrap. Also, I have a tall skinny box for gift wrap in the bottom of the same closet. If I have more than this system will hold, I need to get rid of something. I just don't want to give up major space in my house for it.

I must be a weirdo, I keep like 2 gift bags! My small supply of wrapping paper is in a shallow container that zips. I have it under guest bed.
No weird at all! I just keep all the gift bags we have received over the years. I don’t think I have ever purchased one myself 😅

I always ask myself this question, if I have a junk drawer in my kitchen where I keep a lot of office supplies, why do I also have a office?
Why keep a huge supply of pens in the kitchen drawer?
Take out half and store in the office.
Some times you have to keep in mind the purpose of the room.
Is it a kitchen or an office?
And limit stuff to that purpose.😉
For the gift bags, what about one of those drop down hangers that are space saving in the wardrobe? You could hang the bags in size category 🤔
I keep gift bags and tissue papers in a large gift bag.
I would store all the gift bags in a clear bin at the bottom so you can still see what you have and easy to get to.
The easiest way to insert your duvet is to lay the cover out on your bed inside out. Then lay the duvet on top and button/tie it to the cover, then flip it inside out starting at the bottom.

Happy New year. Everyone is getting so big. They way you put on your duvet is the same way I put on mine and I’ve found that it’s fast and easy that way. The only issue that I have now is a possible torn rotator cuff, so shaking the covers are painful…

Happy new year from UK, when I wash my bedding I change it to new clean bedding straight away don't wait for it to wash then dry. As my bedding is king size I don't put my duvet in the cover I put cover then duvet on top with blankets.
I really need to get a second set of bedding! So much easier 😅

@@AleahMartins it's so much easier. Replace right away so you don't end up trying to go to bed and facepalm because you forgot to grab them from the dryer and make the bed, then realise they didn't fully dry so you now have to wait on them.
Just pick different seasons and store your gift bags and that season of a bag.
I was given a gift basket for Christmas and I used the basket to organize my gift bags like files. Hope this helps

I’m in the process of decluttering my kitchen but it’s so hard because it’s a tiny apartment kitchen that I’m already utilizing every single possible space. So I trying to go to minimal but I also know there are things I will regret getting rid of. Also, your puppy is so stinking adorable! I’d love to know what kind of dog he is, it was kind of hard to tell in the video without a longer direct view of him. He looks like he has Great Dane or mastiff in him.
