Messi is better. Far better close control in tight area's, he's faster with a quicker tempo & greater body liquidity. You stick 3-4 players on him all at once. And he'll turn them this way & that. He's got the best movable control of body than any player I've seen. He can change directions on a pinhead! Even rotate his body 360 degrees back around an oppenent. He's also a far more prolific goalscorer to kill games. I say all this has someone that watched the peak of Diego starting from 1979 against Scotland, which I still remember well.

There r still many who dont know but in 1990 the offside rule got changed because the defence in the 80s was too damn strong.
The old offside rule existed over 100 years before allowing attackers only receiving a pass in front of the last defender and changed to same level in order to favour attackers so more goals could get scored.
It was a crucial point for Cryuff to develop barcas 433 possession attacking pressing football in the 90s when he was coach, Influenced later Guardiola.
It was a key point in history of football to make football faster and more attractive for Fans.
In Maradonas time teams played Catenaccio, stayed deep.
With sweeper as Baresi or Scirea which intercepted gap passes or stopped attackers break throughs.
Then the manmarking, defender followed him everywhere. Opponents blocked each passing options forcing Maradona to dribble a lot alone in order to create space.
He was butchered down, defender went for his legs but also suffered tough semi-fouls like bodychecks.
And then the conditions...pitches full of holes, making the ball bounce each few metres.
Still he managed to win 2 titles in the toughest defensive league of all time in the toughest era.
Some people, especially Messi fans dont really understand how much harder he and all attackers got it in that era.
Thats why the average goals were lower and thats why the fifa felt the need to change something after more than 100 years.
For me Maradona is the goat, second Pele.

@@netaji-thebritishslayer u judge only in todays Standards which is clueless enough.
It was way harder to win trophies back then, especially the Former ucl since only the Champion of each country participated.
The teams were all more balanced, each Team had at least 2-3 worldclass Player. Teams as Real of the 60s, Bayern of the 70s or Milan of the 80s/early 90s were just exceptions.
After the bossman judgement in 1995 it was easier to transfer Player thats why the galacticos had such a huge impact since it was the first Team bought for hundreds of millions.
In messis era were only teams like this, of course its more likely then to win something as u can see in the difference of points and goals at the end of a season.
In messis era barca could even participate in ucl as 2nd or 3rd. With the rules Maradona had he would have at least 2 ucl trophies less.
He played in mediocre teams unlike Pele and he got fouled even harder than Pele.
He won with Barca 3 titles in 1,5 years. Napoli played for Relegation before he arrived and won the title 2 Times in the toughest League of all time without Superstars.
He even won the uefa cup which was as hard as todays ucl because all the 2nd-4th rated teams participated there as Milan, inter, manu, Bayern, Real etc
Why dont u say the same about Messi?
Messi got ridicilous pens, didnt get a card when he play the Ball with Hand despite the var.
He even cheated with a hand vs espanyol. He evaded taxes and betrayed the people which cheered for him. Maradona didnt harm anybody but himself.
At the wc 1986 a player took ephedrine and got banned for one match. Maradona was banned for the whole tournament because it was all set up. Or did u ever see a nurse escorting someone to a Doping test?
U r so biased, judging on Things u dont know or understand.

@@Dacio1202 he wouldn’t with the game being more tactical and defenders knowing more than just kicking

@@prometheustv6558 todays defence is worse than ever. If its better according to u why the average goals in messis era r as high as in peles era?
Rules were changed by the fifa to benefit attacker so they could score more, thats a fact. Even Fifa officials admitted that.
From mid 00s on the game was softened continously or why do u think messi and cr7 didnt score that much in their first few years but started scored a lot around the same time?
Player as young mbappe or yamal get know same or better stats than Maradona or Pele and people like u ignoring the fact that it was 10 Times harder to score or assist in the past.
Cr7 even adapted at one point and didnt do any skill moves anymore because it wasnt needed. Abusing blind spots and outrunning was enough to beat the defender.
Messi runs past 5 athletic restricted defender all watching.
Today its more tactical because the offside rule changed in 1990, making the game speed faster and give attacker advantage. In 1998 tough tacklings got forbidden, favouring attackers even more. Game gone soft to protect valueable Player which bring much Money into the business.
Todays tactics r just Adaptions to todays rules. Teams want to prevent opponents from abusing gap passing and outrunning the defender which wasnt possible that good in the 80s.
Teams today rely on the Fast match speed which is due to the Lack of resistance. If something is fast, there is no resistance, its simple as that.
It wasnt possible in the 80s when attacker could only receive passes in front of the last defender, all teammates were manmarked, brutal tackles, fast playing was out of reach.
Today is nothing new, zonal defending, pressing, gk as sweeper, moving between the lines etc was already there in the past.
Certain tactic just work under certain rules, thats why the sweeper Position disappeared who intercepted gap Passes in the 70s and 80s.
Thats why u See today defender helping each other but creating a lot of gaps for the opponent which he could exploit.
One defender in the 80s could do for what u need 3 today.
If that wasnt true why the fifa felt the need to change the offside rule in 1990 after over 100 years of existence?
Today its only about passing and exploit the pace, creativeness and Dribbling skills r not needed. Running past helpless defender is enough thats why all player Look the same robotic

@@prometheustv6558 dont know why my Former comment disappeared but todays defence is worse than ever. Defender r restricted and handicaped, each slight Touch leads to a Foul.
Average goals r as high as in peles era.
Tactics r not better today, they r just adjustments to the given rules.
Todays tactics just exploit the favouring rules of attacker which allow them play fast passes and outrun the last defender as well as abusing blind spots and gap passing.
All that was much harder in the 80s with old rules and all of todays tactics also existed already before.
Only nutrition, training methods and Equipment evolved, not football in general

I saw your amazing video of Alex Fenerbahçe and believe me he absolutely deserve it and I say this as a Galatasaray fan legend but can you make a video of a Galatasaray legend as well I’m not talking about hagi you already made a video about him. He was also a legend, but I took about the legend who is still playing right now our goalkeeper I know he’s a goalkeeper but the last 10 years he gave us every title we and I think every Galatasaray fan agrees with me we were behind titles and I would argue also in notoriety because of him we’re back so what I’m saying is we
Surpassed Fenerbahçe in terms of le titles and arguably in terms of who is the best club in Turkey I’m talking about Fernando Muslera
