    Great video guys. Makes me feel at home. You might want to introduce closed captions to your videos so that those who don’t have an Arab background can read along in English with the subtitles, or can read romanticized Arabic.

    I have searched hard for either Assyrian or Iraqi Arabic lessons so that I can learn how to speak to my husbands mother. I feel so blessed that you have restarted your page!
    Idea: Record the words in an AnkiApp flashcard study tool as you post your RUclips videos so that students can reference it afterwards to study.

    This is so great!! Love this format. I really need to be immersed so this small conversation at the beginning is really great and the explanation following it as well.
    Then i reaaaally appreciated that you write the words in arabic as you mention them so i can practice my reading along!
    And i loooooved the little quizz to check if i remembered them. Short video, but very efficient for learning practical daily stuff (Which i really need).
    I can feel this is going to help me make muuuuch progress, and I've been trying for months to find a way/discipline/structure, so THANK YOU guys for helping me in my journey with the Iraqi dialect, as there's not a lot available online. Love you guys ❤

      Also I have a question, you said with the eggs the pronounciation could differ (q or k), but why ? I guess it's depending on the region of origin? Where would you use k or q

    • @theiraqicouple
      @theiraqicouple  3 дня назад +1

      We are glad you loved the video and it is helping. We will keep it up with this format.
      The word that differed pronounciation is boiled (maslok گ) in baghdadi and (masloq ق) in maslawi. We are speaking baghdadi in the video though

    I like this format very much! You both did a wonderful job! I understood pretty much all of it since I grew up listening to my parents speak the language. However, I can’t speak it nearly as well.
    One suggestion I have is to make the Arabic script font a little bigger, at least as big as the English words. Thank you both!

    بالعفية for your breakfast:) I love this new concept, seeing the two of you, you are too cute together! Could it be that she has a bit of a different accent, she pronounces the "ر" almost a bit like in American English 😁 can you maybe do a video on different dialects in Iraq? From what I heard is that people from Mosul have a very different pronunciation

    • @theiraqicouple
      @theiraqicouple  3 дня назад +1

      بالعفية I think you meant بالعافية. Correct? 😊
      Yes we can make a video about different dialects. I think she pronounces the r very similar to me. It could be the audio or maybe because she was raised speaking Chaldean. However we always role the ر in all Iraqi dialects I believe.

    The conversation was great, along with the vocabulary in Arabic, English, and transliteration. Maybe in future videos you could include question/answer sequences in the vocabulary items to help people learn to converse, for example: "What do you want to eat"? "I want boiled eggs." "What do you want to drink?" "I want cold/iced coffee." Just curious, is you accent Baghdadi or from a different part of the country? I'm sure you have noticed that East Coasters, Midwesterners, and Southerners in the USA all have their own accents. FANTASTIC JOB!

    Thanks for the new video! I noticed that Noura pronounces the "r" sligthly different compared to most iraqis I know, her "r" is less "vibrating", it's a little bit like the american one. For example at 4:17. Very interesting...

    • @theiraqicouple
      @theiraqicouple  6 дней назад +2

      It could be the audio. But she was raised speaking mostly Chaldean and rami was raised speaking Maslawi dialect

    • @MoremItzum
      @MoremItzum 6 дней назад +1

      @theiraqicouple It's definitely a difference in pronunciation, I noticed that soft "r" sound with some lebanese people as well! And the turkish also pronounce it like that... I always thought Rami was Baghdadi, I remember him saying in one of his older vids that he grew up in Baghdad, but maybe I'm mistaken... Keep it up, guys!
