if the clip is damaged on the cable then you will have to replace the entire cable. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for those cables when they break apart.

Thanks for the video. I have a broken clip on the cable end so that it won't stay in the handle properly. I have tried to find just the clip to replace it but have been unsuccessful. Do I need to replace the whole cable or even worse the whole lock assembly?
Mine is on the left front door on a 1998 Volvo S70. Thanks. Steve

Hi! Do you know how to fix the problem with opening doors from inside?
My driver side door opens from outside, but from inside I can't open it. Door handle goes back after being pulled but doesn't open the door, and the only way to open the door from inside is to roll down the window and stick your arm out to pull the outside door handle and open it. My S70 is early '98 model. Thanks.
