Anybody learning to fly, do this exercise for this video: In the final approach when they switch to the forward camera, put your cursor on the runway threshold. The position on your screen does not shift all the way down to the flare. Beautiful stabilized approach. That's what you want to get a controlled safe landing.
I had to re watch all these videos, because there are things I missed the first time. Captain, your sense of humor is fantastic. "The runway is over there, I'll try to land on it". Oh boy!😂😂😂😂
I did a brief stint instructing out of Boundary Bay, teaching people how to fly Cessna 152s and 172s. The airspace in the Vancouver area is pretty limited for flight training as you've got YVR and its airspace, then the mountains right to the north, the USA just there to the south, and other small airports around. Much different from Toronto, where I did my training, where you can just pop up north or to the east a bit outside of YYZ's space and have lots of uncontrolled airspace to work in. I would be flying between Boundary Bay up to Pitt Lake and Stave Lake. There's a practice area a little east of Fort Langely too. It's kind of cool seeing a big commercial jet flying over those areas. I wonder if there were a couple of Cessnas flying below.
Very cool to watch you guys fly the CANUC5 STAR into YVR in real life. Living almost directly beneath this approach route myself (just east of waypoint GOREG) I regularly see and hear a lot of the YVR inbound traffic pass overhead from my place, when 26R is in use for arrivals. I've flown this STAR many times in MSFS, and I have to say watching the real thing, it all seemed very familiar.
Knew it was autumn with all the cranberry bogs being red... haven't flown into YVR for 16 years.... things changed a lot but those cranberry bogs, never...
another couple of years please, so more of the cost is collected by the YVR use tax. ( called the aif and collected the day you fly out. ) All those peeps using YVR get hit with the Airport Improvement Fee to pay for repairs and upgrades.
When I see approaches right over the city like this one, or at LAX or LHR, I really don't understand why in the Netherlands there is always so much fuzz about noise around Schiphol Airport..
Nice shots and well put together, which leads me to make a request on behalf of good taste. You really do not need "swish" sounds every time a piece of text appears or disappears.
Decent video, good showing of various flight controls, however, you might want to rethink all of the special sounds with your graphic coming in/out, distracts from the quality of the work.
@@INZEAIR84 Rgr that, thx for sharing it's motivating to see ur vid's, keep on uploading, and it would be cool if u give us (viewers) a picture of whats going on the PFD ND to feel like being as a crewmember or a safty pilot on the jump seat, thank u in advance, have definitely enjoyed ur vids.
On landing, SpeedBrakes are surfaces on the wings upper side which extend upward to kill lift and therefore increase braking action allowing the aircraft to decelerate more efficiently.
Do you ever witness other jets laying down persistent contrails, or do you yourselves possibly lay them down, and if so when did this start happening? I can remember as a child we called them contrails and they would dissipate rather quickly behind the jet. Also wondering if these persistent contrails have anything to do with the serious disappearance of most birds and insects?
Love the captain sense of humour 'the runway is over there I will try and land on it'.
TRY!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄👍🍻😉

Oh, this is the best airplane video I've seen so far! All the graphics including tower communication transcription is awesome! :-O
Hey! Thanks for your very positive comment!!
Excellent ! no distracting music, everything explained, good audio and video, thanks.
Thank you for your feedback! 😊
Bravo! "The most beautiful work is related to the desire to fly." Words from the song of the Russian pilot
I love these words 😉 thx for commenting!
As kids growing up in Ditchmond 😂(local joke) in the early 70’s we use to play right along side what would be 26L
Thanks for the view.
Vancouver's river fork before the runway looks cool.
That's the Fraser. The airport is on Sea Island, and technically is in the city of Richmond, not Vancouver.

Merci pour le retour.....Et toujours plein d'intérêt....J'attends la suite avec impatience....!
Héhé avec plaisir !! La suite arrive bientôt 😁 un petit atterro New York en préparation !
Love the camera angles !
Thanks!
Molto bello x le scritte chiarificatrici e il volo assolutamente cieco nelle nuvole per cui necessita affidamento totale alla strumentazione
"Do you see the RW over there? I`ll try to land on it!" said the captain to passengers for fun.
What a landing! I'd be honored to be one of your pax anytime!
Thank you, I appreciate your words 🙏
Nice job-great video
Thanks!
Absolutely amazing ....they fly over the river named after me😃👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks 🙏
The river Dan ?
That parking lot before the runway is an outlet mall. I sometimes eat my lunch there to watch the planes
Bonjour ! Super vidéo, ça rajoute une dose de motivation durant l’ATPL 😂 vivement la prochaine !
Merci! Bon courage alors pour L'ATPL!
By the way, excellent video I really enjoyed the camera angles and annotations.

Cette magnifique vidéo me motive à travailler pour devenir pilote de ligne 😁
Merci pour ton compliment ! Accroche toi, ça en vaut la peine 😉
Wow, so rare. FO operates nose wheel steering!
Could pick out places I used to live and work, I miss Vancouver and surrounding area .
Me too. I grew up in Richmond.

Doesn’t Air France have any protocols for publishing pilots’ videos on RUclips?
I can see my house from here!

Good to see you back!! Is that possible to have clear atc like guillaume or high pressure? that makes the experience a lot better!!!
Thanks for the comment! I'll think about it! Thanks for the idea! 😉

Sir how many kilometers after you can see the runway???
Nice touch down
You have earned a sub

My biggest regret was learning Emirates offers a program to train and employ pilots before the age of 26....I learned this at the age of 30 =(
What's that high-low chime on final and after landing?
Fantastic!!!
Thanks 😊

Et non, juste youtube et insta !
awesome vid!
Thanks!
I dunno, I just like Vancouver
Does your electronic flight bag run Android or Windows? Doesn't look like an iPad.
Sagte er nie: Tut mir Leid, wir haben die Landebahn verfehlt! Ausgezeichnet, Vielen Dank.

Great covert FU by the FO at 1:15
How to you manage to get into the cockpit? Everytime I ask I get denied :(
I sense you are sarcastic, but in the off chance you aren’t he is a FO for Air France.
Very nice vid! 👍👏👏
Thanks a lot!
Nice landiiing !, what was your Vref on this app ?
Thanks! For Vref, I can't remember exactly, but usually it's smth like 140kt 🙂

👍🤝 great video.

Really well produced! Suggestion - don't need text effects, and put all the text in the same location. Thanks.
Please explain what Speed Brakes are.
On landing, SpeedBrakes are surfaces on the wings upper side which extend upward to kill lift and therefore increase braking action allowing the aircraft to decelerate more efficiently.
When I first saw speed brakes out side my window on the plane, I thought the engine was falling apart on landing tbh lol 😂

I can remember as a child we called them contrails and they would dissipate rather quickly behind the jet. hi can i post this with credit in instagram ?
Yep, no problem
What was that strange surface at the threshold of the runway?
This is called the blast pad, just before the runway threshold to prevent the jet blast produced by planes taking off from eroding the ground.
TIL there's A MOGUS in Maple RIdge.
Well, that looks simple. If that's all there is to it I could land a Boeing 777 with nary a problem.
A little late on the glideslope, no?
Nice video :)
Thanks!
how did you animate the lines on the taxi diagram?
You're speaking of the red lines? I draw it on the chart and I record the drawing in real time with an app :)
why do all pilots fly with one hand
0:52 haha MOGUS sussy.
What camera do you use for front view?
I use a Canon g7x mark ii, it's the same when I make night time lapses.
InZeAir 84 hey and the small one in front of you, on the windshield? That is the canon?
@@dualinput601 yes that's it!
