You guys are using the material you use to fix broken plastic bumpers to repair dented metal rocker pannel. I don't get it. Drilling holes in rocker pannel to pull out the dent is fine. After that you should fill the holes with mig welding, then grind the surface, then apply body fillers, then smoothen the surface by wet sanding, then apply 2k primer, then apply paint, and then apply clear coat.
Finest 1970s bodgery ... .. The UK MOT man may notice the dull thud of filler & not be impressed. Also welding pins/ hooks onto the sill to pull out the dent ., or weld on an over sill.. The hours it takes is similar .
The dent puller in the video looks different from the suggested item to purchase from Amazon in your link. Will the dent puller be able to pull the bolt as shown?
I see what you mean it is a hack but it pulls the dent out. You can come back and weld those holes instead of living it holes open and filled. I don't see anything wrong by doing this. They just missed 1 step the welding
@@thebigcheese1889 drills holls in the sill panel to pull out the dents, doesn’t weld them back up just fills over them The fact that you have to ask how’s that just proves it
I got them beat. I watched this and couldn't bring it to myself to do the drilling step. So my right side rocker panel from the rear passenger to the rear right wheel got dented in. Bro today I finally had time and I just sanded the paint with 80 grit so there was some sort rough surface and started applying body filler with dent still in. My plan was to just apply body filler until it creates the look of of the symmetric rocker panel. After one small contair of body filler the dent still looks the same lol. I'm like fuck. I'm just gonna do another can of it tomorrow and prime and paint it with color code paint and be done with it. Is there any hope for me. To create mass instead of body filler it's still like not millimeters away from a strate rocker panel but center meters possibly 1/8th or 1/4 th inch I dk. I know it's a loss cause but I tried to do the glue method and pull hammer x2 different glue guns first the glue gun that came with the dent puller kit was a POs but the glue was really hard and stuck good. It wouldn't even disperse glue tho. So I went to Wally's and got a glue gun and glue sticks but the glue stick size was different so the ones that came from Amazon the stronger ones didn't fit. I'm like ya know what I'm going strate to Bondo. Now what u think. Did I beat these guys. My dad owned a body shop for 20 yrs in Jersey. He said they would tac weld keys to metal slide a long bar into them and a.machine would torque that rocker panel back. Plus saw a some vids how they do it it looks so satisfying. If u were in my shoes. Do u think with that layer of bodo I can still make some holes and put a screw in there cuz I have the pull hammer. ?
No etch primer on drill holes. Fibre fill over paint. Big no no. Wet sanding bog. It sucks water in as its porous so, that'll create rust and can make the bog bondo rot out. Glad this is not my car.
So for us DIY newbies : paint primer on bare metal drill holes so they don't rust, sand down to metal where there's paint and no wet sanding. Is that correct?
If you are watching this in Northern Europe, don’t use this method, our climate is too humid, the holes with filler in, will eventually absorb moisture resulting in micro blisters in the paint.

Have you tried with the hot glue pullers first ? That broker panel damage wasn't too bad, drilling seemed a bit overkill to me
Yea I was also thinking the same

Work with what you got not everyone can afford the stuff that the “pros” use. It looks good that’s all that matters
@@laxavierpierre4481yup, I'd say great job for what it is.
How did you blend the paint at the end? That's the one thing I'm confused on

U gotta admit the dude working know how to mix and apply the Bondo. He looks like a season body guy. So satisfying when he mixed the bondo
Много добре представено и обяснено, за което ви поздравявам! Хубави мартеници! ;-)
Hi. Where are you located???
This is a hack way to do it Don't drill holes into your vehicle and cover it with bondo. It will fail in 2-3 years
@Richard Ruff hack
@Richard Ruff I can do a better job with glue tabs then this I explained its a hack way so.. Im not a hack so I would do better

Nice work, do you ever get tired of working on the ground? Lol I would invest in a used rotary lift or something. Nice video!
very nice step by step body repair work. thank you.
This is the funniest shit I’ve seen, everyone saying good job have absolutely no idea about panel work hahahah
How’s that

@@georgesavz4449yeah I guess I’ve never done bodywork until soon and this was the first video I saw lol, there’s a few things I’d do differently..
Rather than criticizing maybe you could make some videos to show how it should be done "correctly".....

Awesome video - thanks!
It sounds like you're saying sledgehammer - think you mean slide hammer 👍
I would have sanded down to bare metal, welded holes shut...not wet sanded bondo, and laid an initial tack coat when applying basecoat.
Amazing well done
Thank you mr all guys
Nice wind up.
Good job bro thanks for sharing your knowledge
Nice thank u
Will do it myself

Agreed.
If this car is in the north salty roads the repair would last a year at most.

Great job mate, thanks for sharing your knowledge. 👍👍
can you paint the whole car with that compressor?
Of course but it will take a while
What size bolt was used for the pull?
looks like 8mm or 6mm
Thank you
So what I gathered from this video is that my cruze now has a dented rocker forever 😂
Were you able to get it fixed yet

How is it possible such a dirty service and someone still praise????
Don’t repair the holes just smear some filler in there! 😂
Who cares wat way he did looks fine r take it to a body shop were they would charge u hundreds for doing that
fuck...too much work hahaha
You said ok to much 😞🔫
Sorry but it looks like a guide for plasterers
Sorry no bonds that car is gonna be a rust pile in 5 yrs
Very very bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Explain
ΠΑΝΑΓΙΩΤΗΣ ΒΛΑΧΑΚΗΣ you’re probably one of those people that put 2 inches of bondo instead of pulling the dent 😂
U have ruined the originality of the panel.
