Random book planning advice that worked for me recently: if you don’t know what’s going to happen, take a bit you know and wonder why the characters chose to do the thing that lead to that. Like… a small strategy point led to one of my characters changing their whole plotline for the book
Dude I'm the type to start a project, get bored, and move on. I can't stay with anything, and I'm getting back to the doubting stage where I doubt if I even want to be a writer (the ultimate dream right now is to become an author) or if I can even create stories, like I'm not in a good place with my writing. But I suppose that's just the journey, AM I RIGHT? :p
yeah, i totally get that and it's normal to feel that way! but remember, not everyone has the talent to write and the fact that you do makes you super special in comparison to anyone else-it makes you a WRITER. you may not love your writing right now, but that just calls for inspiration! and when it strikes, you work will be a masterpiece :)
I was the same back then. I'd tell my friend of a fanfiction idea- they'd be all for it- and then I'd either forget about it or get bored and start another project. I wanted to publish my own novel and I was really heartbroken since most of my stories were fan fictions on already existing sources. It took a long time before I got an original idea, and it took over a year to completely write it. Which sounds like a lot, but then again I took a lot of breaks (school and overall being uninspired). I learned the hard way that sometimes it's best to push a project aside if you aren't feeling inspired to write it. The best parts of your novel are when you're inspired, so being uninspired while writing would make the story itself feel plain and boring. It's all about the journey. Some days will feel horrible, some days will feel awesome. You just gotta push ahead and keep that project in your head till the whole idea comes to you.
Yeah it os really nor al, I actually deleted the book I plane to publish. But something Inspired me but I forgot what. Just no that you can do thos no matter. Shoot that sounded corny as heck o.o
THIS IS SO FCKING HILARIOUS PLSSS, EVERYTHING WAS JUST ME IN THE CONDENSED FORM OF A MINUTE TIKTOK 😭 i could never say i like to write because i enjoy creating stories, useless worldbuilding that will never be used in the actual story (or if it will even /appear/ in the story), lengthy monolouges about a character, and etc. but actually /writing/ them all?? that is a magic i'm not privy to.
You know after spending a great deal of my life thinking that I had very strange and rare problems it's sort of nice knowing that other people have them too. I genuinely never knew other people would spend hours thinking of stories and characters instead of sleeping or making fictional plants rather then doing your homework.
I love looking at writing TikToks or stuff and some people talk about having 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and final drafts and I’m over here like “Why write so many drafts when I can just have my 1st draft *be* my final draft?” ;3

I had problems with writing in the sense that I almost thought I was cursed. I would be able to get 3 chapters in and then just… stop? And then ontop of that I wrote wanting the validation of others and getting my motivation from that-which probably stemmed from my (almost gifted kid) childhood. Only recently have I finally been able to write and one story I blazed through 20+ chapters in 10 days Only after COVID hit did I realize the possibility that I had undiagnosed ADHD and even more recently the possibility of undiagnosed depression. I can only hope one those things get handled I’ll finally be able to write my stories and explore the characters I really want to
wow, that's amazing, good for you for accomplishing that much in a short period of time! and as for your health, i hope that you're able to do what you want to with your stories-just remember to take care of yourself
OMG 3:18 is so relatable, and the bit about the Oxford comma, too. I'm not joking, almost every time I tell someone about my book, the person brings up Harry Potter. I enjoyed the books and adore how the community has stayed so active, but I'm writing a high fantasy series, which is nothing like Harry Potter! The only things they share are unicorns and dragons, and even then the world building is wildly different.
The plot for my novel is just about two knights who have personal struggles: one is struggling to find a new goal after failing to protect the king and thinking if he should have done more; the second is struggling with their wants and their dream is to be a chivalrous knight but must serve his family before any other even the kingdom. The background for this novel is a rebellion after the king's assassination and the crown prince, and since the next in line to be king is still young. The realm wants justice; everything is in disarray after a declaration from a noble house for an independent kingdom, while the loyalists lack a king to rule. The second is the crown prince's bride, who takes the title of regent and leads the war against the traitors, but finds resistance due to her gender.

Omgggg this low-key made me sad when that lady or whomever said only bad writers love to write. It made me sad because I genuinely love writing and I didn't think I was bad at writing I'm not saying I'm great but I've seen much worse especially for my age. I've been writing since I was in third or forth grade and I'm in ninth grade now I love writing cause I can distract myself from whatever's going on. Also I become really attached to my characters and I feel like I'm in a different universe its comforting and feels safe. It's enjoyable (sometimes) and I'm not saying I don't struggle writing I experience writers block random distractions life exc but still I didn't think I was a bad writer I definitely could and will improve but yeah 😐🙃🙁😔😔 (disclaimer I don't have a bad living situation or anything horrible or unsafe i need to escape from currently in my life I just struggle with anxiety and stuff so its sometimes nice to have a break form feeling that)
People like that are so agitating. I know it’s been a while since you posted this comment but DO NOT let that discourage you. You’re allowed to write. Just because you enjoy something doesn’t mean you’re bad about this. Your book will be loved and if not by anybody then by me! I will spread the love of your book when it’s published, I’ll buy you copies, and I’ll force my friends to as well. Your writing is just as important as everyone else’s stories. I’ve been writing for 5 years and, honestly, the best advice I could give is to NEVER listen to people like that. Write your books. Write your stories. Don’t you ever get discouraged because someone told you you’re a bad writer. You’re allowed to love a craft. I hope you do find your self love in the things you create because writers are truly one of the most creative. It’s difficult to enjoy fantasies inside our heads whilst putting them on paper and publishing them for people to enjoy. People WILL love your book especially if you pour your heart, soul, and love into it. You’re a great writer and never let anyone tell you any different 🫶🏻 Side note: every single writer experiences the things you do. It doesn’t make you any less “good” than other authors. You can always improve, but it doesn’t mean that you’re bad
5:30 literally me 💀 I've been writing the same story for over a year now and the total amount of words is nearing 300k I believe (so I don't always remember every conversation I've written) and my writing has improven so much throughout the project, like it's technically a second draft and I can't look back at the first draft without cringing so hard, even stuff in the current draft from like 10 months ago I'm like "WHAT? Why did I think that sounded like a normal conversation at all-" 😭
you know what's funny? I have been writing and coming up with stories my entire life. also I have been bouncing from fandom to fandom and obsession to obsession and yet I have never written a fanfiction in my entire life. who else can relate?
Not to sound fussy but I have to disagree with “You like to write? You’re a bad writer” because putting my ideas to paper is the most rewarding part! And if we’re following that logic I guess it makes Tolkien a bad writer
Whenever i write a story i tend to get attached to the characters and temd to feel for them and i would associatecertain songs to them. For example whenever i listen to freaks by surf i think of my second main character in a story I'm writing and i get in a sad mood.( sometimes they aren't the main character
“So how many of us grew up to be maladaptive daydreamers that have several movie-like plot lines going on in our head at one time, can’t listen to music without adding it to our mental soundtrack for these plot lines, and are just overall incapable of living inside out given reality because what’s going on in our head is just so much more interesting.” *cries in understanding*

GETTING AN IDEA RANDOMLY IS THE MOST RELATABLE THING EVER LIKE IF IM OUTSIDE A REALLY GOOD IDEA WILL POP INTO MY HEAD AND THEN WHEN I ACTUALLY SIT DOWN TO WRITE IT I FORGET
I started writing this year in February. I had no idea what I was doing...a few weeks ago I remembered that there were some plot holes that needed to be filled up...and my brain filled them up and it makes so much sense!!!😁😁😁
0:47 I did this yesterday when I was writing up an early monologue because it kept popping into my head, I needed a name for a character that had only been called by his formal name (Mr. Barion) throughout the story since he was the main character’s teacher & you don’t call your teacher by his real name. I think it worked!
i have way to many ideas but i never have any motivation to write😀 i love writing sm and writing was my fave subject in school but like its so hard to write😩😩
I love the stop holding on thing because the first character I killed off in the book I'm working on at the moment was literally holding on for dear life before he fell to his death
4:38 i have a scene where a prince is waiting to see his old friend and hes reminising about last time he was there, and his friend was bright and happy and just filled the room.. His friend shows up half dead because he starved himself so others could eat. You cant have nice things in my stories
I almost dropped my phone from laughing so hard on the last one. (Also I'm kinda in the imbetween space of loving writing when it's no brain writing and hating writing when it’s literally anything else because I overthink everything.)
I feel called out 3:06 not really a worldbuilding (will probs change) but im making animals for my fantasy world like a fluffy lizard I talk to myself in my head a lot, thats where half my characters come from, or dreams I decided i wanted to write the scene of 2 characters meeting before some of them even had names Im giving my characters eye colours and stuff- height, age, last names, those gotta wait.. a long time.
I'm writing a book but I'm scared to continue it because of my mom not liking it because I don't want romance in it and it's about a swimmer who survived a horrible coach and is trying to move on while their teammates are slowly finding out about them and this coach
3:06 As an Oxford comma enthusiast writing a character driven dystopian fantasy novel with a good amount of plot focus, accurate (noone (who is human) has compared the WIP to Harry Potter yet, thankfully)
Please whenever I'm not writing or at school I'm out on walks in the middle of nowhere with my earbuds blasting a random song from the 80's while I imagine the scenario I wanna write but am too lazy to💀

I got an idea for how characters resolve a specific misunderstanding ✨️situation✨️ and now I'm writing a novel just so I can make that one scene come to life. Obviously the scene/build up to it is more complicated than I'm making it sound but it's so beautiful and unexpected and I just want to make it a reality. So I'm writing a book. An entire novel. For one scene. One peice of dialog. One moment. I need help qwp
I so felt that 50k oneshot. I started writing a fanfic with a friend of mine about 2 years ago and our first chapter was approximately 55 pages long. Unsurprisingly, we decided to cut it into three parts after all. We are now working on chapter 4-6 and I can tell you we do not have any chapter that has less than 55 pages, actually they range from 55 to 89 pages, at least in their undivided version xD (then again it's 8 characters to write, so...)

Colbi's eyes are color changing, depending on his emotions, Ariona's eyes are brown, and Analia's eyes are two difirent colors, one red and the other purple, I descovered that those colors actualy describe her character, I found this out after I chose the colors, but, Red represents loyalty, and purple represents magic, Analia is light mage and she's realy loyal to her friends. (sorry for the typos(just so all of you know, Colbi, Analia, and Ariona are charicters in the book I'm working on.)
OOOH, OOH, LEMME HAVE A TURN WITH MY CHARACTERS because im lonely and have nobody to talk to about them! Alright lets see, Regulus has black eyes as well and Vigra and Dinara, probably because they all share a craft. uhhh and then Amber has these bright strawberry red eyes, Oriane has vibrant orange ones, OpalFrosts are very light brown, kinda like a mocha color. ooh this is fun :D
I call next!: Demetria's eyes are a dark navy blue. (Her left eye might go blind in later books) Vera's are light blue like the sky, Roberts are a hazel gray mix, Jake's are a dark chocolate brown and Annie's are light brown.

Ok, I have a story in mind I would like to share even though probably no one cares. In a massive kidnapping in a small town in Maine, 20 kidnapped teenagers wake up in a big mansion in the woods, with exactly 20 rooms. No idea how or why they are there. No past memories, no phones, no way out. And the worst part… every night, the teens are locked in their assigned rooms by themselves. The rooms only have a mirror to stare into, but it gets worse. The kidnapper is with them, disguising as a teenager, living in the mirrors, ready to kill and take anyone who they please… The way you know you know you’re gonna die is if you get blood on your mirror. Then, you get stabbed and pulled into the mirror. In the morning, they have to find who is missing. Once they do, the mirror can replay their deaths… Then, they have chats to figure out who it is. Then.. the accused person is sacrificed. Can they do it? Or is fate sealed? I call it, “Blood On The Wall”! I had so many problems, including me wanting to harass my pet, look outside, and the occasional writer’s block.
I would defo read that no joke because it sounds great! I do suggest you flesh out the characters with backstories so the deaths hit harder! Happy writing!
Earlier today, I was editing my novel when I suddenly had an idea for a word in my paracosm’s language, which somehow led to me researching the Earth’s carrying capacity and ideal population and even asking ChatGPT to help me determine the population of said paracosm. Eventually, my mom came into my room with lunch, I told her to take it out because the smell was making me hungry, she said that I should eat if I was hungry, and I told her that I couldn’t eat because I was busy researching the Earth’s carrying capacity. I’m so glad that my entire family is made up of nerds. Also, ChatGPT told me “in the millions or tens of millions” which is surprisingly low, but I suspect it has to do with ideal population (as in, everyone being able to live middle class with the world’s resources) and my paracosm being a utopia made to foil the dystopia of modern-day Earth.

Yo, are we the same person or something?
This is literally me-
Yeah it os really nor al, I actually deleted the book I plane to publish.
Ugh these r so relatable 🤧👌
ikr
yep
I love looking at writing TikToks or stuff and some people talk about having 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and final drafts and I’m over here like “Why write so many drafts when I can just have my 1st draft *be* my final draft?” ;3
AHAH i wish🥲 if that works for you, please teach me your wayss
@@honeyscribbles
I just write whatever comes to mind first and sometimes I’ll add something to previous paragraphs if I feel like it, but for the most part, what I have written already is good enough for me. ( ^ω^ )
@@honeyscribbles just write what comes to your head and then re read it and add or delete some things then have your friend read it. (if you have any if not ask your parents or someone you trust) if they like it, then you did good. Then repeat for each chapter.
@@msroseafton WOW THE TALENT (you can't see my face but i'm in awe rn)
@@hermitsunite953 when you don't have anybody to give your work to🥲 auwsa well now I do but before I was going completely solo, so maybe that's why i have like 7 drafts for the book i'm only publishing this year....when i completed the first draft 2 years ago🥸
NOT ME making a character that has secternal heterochromia, googled the different types of heterochromia, only to find out I HAVE central heterochromia 😭
I had problems with writing in the sense that I almost thought I was cursed. I would be able to get 3 chapters in and then just… stop? And then ontop of that I wrote wanting the validation of others and getting my motivation from that-which probably stemmed from my (almost gifted kid) childhood. Only recently have I finally been able to write and one story I blazed through 20+ chapters in 10 days
Only after COVID hit did I realize the possibility that I had undiagnosed ADHD and even more recently the possibility of undiagnosed depression. I can only hope one those things get handled I’ll finally be able to write my stories and explore the characters I really want to
wow, that's amazing, good for you for accomplishing that much in a short period of time! and as for your health, i hope that you're able to do what you want to with your stories-just remember to take care of yourself
I have ADHD, I think it helps my idea making, but it quashes my motivation, so I feel you.
0:47 That's actually so smart! Will definitely use that!
We love the maladaptive daydreaming!!
I have a whole playlist of songs I just *imagine* to I’m not okay
It's 22:52 pm, and instead of writing I'm watching writertok compilation
you ever jsut experience something like a breakdown and immediately go to the computer to right that shit down... only to forget like half of those 20 minutes?
✨writertok !!! ✨
5:16 I did not need to be called out like that.
This is the most relatable video I have ever watched. Dang-
Omgggg this low-key made me sad when that lady or whomever said only bad writers love to write. It's enjoyable (sometimes) and I'm not saying I don't struggle writing I experience writers block random distractions life exc but still I didn't think I was a bad writer I definitely could and will improve but yeah 😐🙃🙁😔😔
(disclaimer I don't have a bad living situation or anything horrible or unsafe i need to escape from currently in my life I just struggle with anxiety and stuff so its sometimes nice to have a break form feeling that)
People like that are so agitating. You’re a great writer and never let anyone tell you any different 🫶🏻
Side note: every single writer experiences the things you do. It doesn’t make you any less “good” than other authors. You can always improve, but it doesn’t mean that you’re bad
5:30 literally me 💀
I've been writing the same story for over a year now and the total amount of words is nearing 300k I believe (so I don't always remember every conversation I've written) and my writing has improven so much throughout the project, like it's technically a second draft and I can't look back at the first draft without cringing so hard, even stuff in the current draft from like 10 months ago I'm like "WHAT? Why did I think that sounded like a normal conversation at all-" 😭
0:19 - 0:39 as a writer, this is all so relatable
3:42
Me: *have an amazing idea*
Also Me: *also not knowing how to write it -_-'*
you know what's funny? I have been writing and coming up with stories my entire life. also I have been bouncing from fandom to fandom and obsession to obsession and yet I have never written a fanfiction in my entire life. who else can relate?
Bro same
4:50 Ayo, why do I relate to the plot lines thing? I keep daydreaming and Ive had the same daydream for about 3 years now and it's just, argh
Not to sound fussy but I have to disagree with “You like to write? You’re a bad writer” because putting my ideas to paper is the most rewarding part! And if we’re following that logic I guess it makes Tolkien a bad writer
I agree with you!
3:08 you know you have a problem when you do all of these in random intervals because you cant focus more than a week on one story
Whenever i write a story i tend to get attached to the characters and temd to feel for them and i would associatecertain songs to them. For example whenever i listen to freaks by surf i think of my second main character in a story I'm writing and i get in a sad mood.( sometimes they aren't the main character
I thought I was the only one 😅
“So how many of us grew up to be maladaptive daydreamers that have several movie-like plot lines going on in our head at one time, can’t listen to music without adding it to our mental soundtrack for these plot lines, and are just overall incapable of living inside out given reality because what’s going on in our head is just so much more interesting.”
*cries in understanding*
I have accidentally watched *this* video so many times that O can just sense that it’s the same video before the first video starts
I am that type of writer that just stared at the page untill an idea comes and then I write that down and then the ideas start to FLOOD in my brain and I can't write them down quick enough
Found your channel, it's the best thing that happened tonight!!!

GETTING AN IDEA RANDOMLY IS THE MOST RELATABLE THING EVER
LIKE IF IM OUTSIDE A REALLY GOOD IDEA WILL POP INTO MY HEAD AND THEN WHEN I ACTUALLY SIT DOWN TO WRITE IT I FORGET
3:11 does anyone else mentally write their entire book in the shower?
Im a first time writer! All of these are insightful and hilarious! How fun!❤
1:34 Daenara is a real name; it's the name of Hercules's second wife in Greek mythology.
plsss make more writing TikTok’s- I need more to procrastinate my writing onn😂👌🏻
1:46 EXACTLY
I started writing this year in February. I had no idea what I was doing...a few weeks ago I remembered that there were some plot holes that needed to be filled up...and my brain filled them up and it makes so much sense!!!😁😁😁
3:13 never in my life have I been called out so violently
The part in the first TikTok, if you are writing a book. Every author would know this. YOU HAVE TO ACT OUT ALL THE SCENES BEFORE YOU WRITE THEM.
THE MALITDAPTIVE DAYDREAM THING-OH MY FRICKIN GOD MOST RELATABLE THING EVERRRRR
The last one was so true it was honestly insane.
3:11, 3:14, and 3:26 are a little bit too relatable if you ask me haha
0:47 I did this yesterday when I was writing up an early monologue because it kept popping into my head, I needed a name for a character that had only been called by his formal name (Mr. Barion) throughout the story since he was the main character’s teacher & you don’t call your teacher by his real name. I think it worked!
i love your intro sm😭😭
3:14 wow ok wonderful callout post there-
4:55 why did that describe me perfectly...
i have way to many ideas but i never have any motivation to write😀 i love writing sm and writing was my fave subject in school but like its so hard to write😩😩
I love the stop holding on thing because the first character I killed off in the book I'm working on at the moment was literally holding on for dear life before he fell to his death
5:00 that one hit hard
4:38 i have a scene where a prince is waiting to see his old friend and hes reminising about last time he was there, and his friend was bright and happy and just filled the room..
His friend shows up half dead because he starved himself so others could eat. You cant have nice things in my stories
5:02 I've never felt so called out before-
I almost dropped my phone from laughing so hard on the last one. (Also I'm kinda in the imbetween space of loving writing when it's no brain writing and hating writing when it’s literally anything else because I overthink everything.)
that last one had me rolling because it's SO TRUE! I'm editing my draft, and I just stare at the first page for ages because WHAT WAS I THINKING?
I feel called out
3:06 not really a worldbuilding (will probs change) but im making animals for my fantasy world like a fluffy lizard
I talk to myself in my head a lot, thats where half my characters come from, or dreams
I decided i wanted to write the scene of 2 characters meeting before some of them even had names
Im giving my characters eye colours and stuff- height, age, last names, those gotta wait.. a long time.
I hate the fact that im good with coming up with story ideas but i never even finish them once i write it down
This video hit me with reality so hard
it hurts 😢
I'm writing a book but I'm scared to continue it because of my mom not liking it because I don't want romance in it and it's about a swimmer who survived a horrible coach and is trying to move on while their teammates are slowly finding out about them and this coach
3:32 THIS IS ME HELPP IM 7K WORDS IN WITH NO DESCRIPTION ON WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE LOOL😭
4:55 so THATS whats wrong with me LOL, good to know im not the only one
3:06 As an Oxford comma enthusiast writing a character driven dystopian fantasy novel with a good amount of plot focus, accurate
(noone (who is human) has compared the WIP to Harry Potter yet, thankfully)
Please whenever I'm not writing or at school I'm out on walks in the middle of nowhere with my earbuds blasting a random song from the 80's while I imagine the scenario I wanna write but am too lazy to💀
4:56 so relatable 💀💀
I'm literally sitting in front of an empty document and this is perfect RN thank you so much!!
I finished a short story today! This is my personal reward.

Omg one of the last ones about not existing with reality because of daydreaming really called out my entire life
These hit so hard
nah the oneshot fanfic is so accurate cause i just wrote a 23.8k one which was gonna be longer but i stopped myself
I hate when I have a really significant and important sentence in my head that is worded absolutely and utterly perfectly... then to as I'm writing it forget the amazing word that I had in mind. KILLS ME EVERYTIME
also y'all idk how to start a story i've had rampaging around my brain for weeks now so i'm in need of support, inspiration, and ofc chocolate if y'all have any...XD feel free to complain about your own stories and writers' block in the replies, and i'll try to give updates if anyone cares
Oh cool! I hope you are able to reach that specific scene
@@itsmikah8601 me too! :D making good progress so far
I so felt that 50k oneshot. I started writing a fanfic with a friend of mine about 2 years ago and our first chapter was approximately
55 pages long. Unsurprisingly, we decided to cut it into three parts after all. We are now working on chapter 4-6 and I can tell you
we do not have any chapter that has less than 55 pages, actually they range from 55 to 89 pages, at least in their undivided version xD
(then again it's 8 characters to write, so...)
That's overkill ngl, RIP to your readers
@@hammywoods I know, that's why we decided to split the chapters into parts 😅

(me watching 3:32) OOH!
I call next!:
Demetria's eyes are a dark navy blue. (Her left eye might go blind in later books) Vera's are light blue like the sky, Roberts are a hazel gray mix, Jake's are a dark chocolate brown and Annie's are light brown.
@@LyntzbartzkyPerez love it, Willow also has vibrant orange eyes, or they're yellow, the only time I describe them, I say they're "amber".

ME TOO
Writing is fun, but just because we like it doesn’t mean we’re horrible writers, it just means our brains works differently than others’ might.♥️
Ok, I have a story in mind I would like to share even though probably no one cares.
@@literaryfools8761 Thank you! I do plan to do that!
4:55 called me out T-T

4:02 probs my favourite 💀
4:52 DON'T CALL ME OUT LIKE THAT!
"Here he comes, there he is! HEllo BoOooOy!"
