thanks mate, though some seem to think that the KSWC eclipses this wave, odd view when you can see how perfect and hollow these things are. Anyway, need to build the thing to prove it once and for all.
and also check the tube shape at 6.05. In the river the gradient varies a bit so these tubes morph into and out of the ideal tube shape, which means that we merely chose the gradient that at max wave height creates the most open barrel. Every wave created that is smaller than that will break less aggressively.
Brilliant !!! Now up scale it & combine it with The Venus Project city design water belt and you get... 24 perfect 6-8 ft glassy waves, all day, every day, every city. You have to reverse direction every hour or so as to eliminate a lazy river effect.
In reply to Kathrine Dadd, First pool might end up being in South Africa within 12 to 18 months, but just about to sign the MOU for our first pool in Australia, which will be on the Sunshine Coast. It's all about to happen. At last!
Right at 4:21 that just started to get that felling in 2025 that you wont have to care about those freaking people that cut you off and just have fun without getting hurt........................ I can already imagine it TEAHPOO IN MY BACK YARD CHEE! also looks pretty sick man now imagine you went like maybe 40 mph on the boat would it be better dunno JUST KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :D!
The only problem i see here is the council closing it down due to complaints from fishermen and locals about bank erosion. Same thing is happening in Tweed River from wakeboarding.
G'day Greg, any chance of a clue to prospective locations for smart park or the compound? Everyone is going to lose their minds when this bottled wave mimics natural perfection. This is going to be a surf destination and all round adventure playground. Fiik Electric Skateboards based on the Gold Coast are amped up and excited to see this takeover
So you plan on using a planing hull to create the wake that then turns into a breaking wave on shore? Good idea Greg and good luck! How will the hull be propelled through the water in the full scale pool? Belts and wheels in the wall of the pool or some type of cart on a track with an arm forcing the hull up or down altering the wave type / size? Probably can't say anyways....
Hello Amanda sorry to miss your message. Yes that's the case but it's a planing hull being forced by the engineered structures to not be able to plane. What's your background? Ie to ask such a question
hi Greg mate it looks awesome great job its just what we need when there isn't any swell around ....mate just wondering what size waves will you be able to get out of it??
I was thinking of shooting some more waves with a phantom flex to get inside the tube on some 6" waves in super slow mo. The internal distortions are amazing but need clarity and much slower movement to be fully realised. Your message has prompted me to find one and do exactly that! Thanks
@webbersurfboards LOL fun, that's an understatement, that would be epic. out of curiosity how much energy and how much money would a successful 2 meter wave require?
check 5.55 to see what the difference between a soliton based tube and a kelvin wake based tube. With a trough that goes below sea level the lip can be made to hit out on the flat which opens the tube significantly. The best surfers in the world and any capable surfer really, will feel the difference when inside the two tube shapes.
Epic idea, although my thoughts were what happens when you get exhausted fall then upon getting your board the next sets of waves come rolling you over? gah I just had pipeline flashbacks all over again. What are the dangers of this?
@Laxr413 I keep hitting reply, not enough sleep! about 1ookw per 2m wave. can't talk money though, costs vary hugely from country to country. thanks for your input!
Someone has a beer belly, shame on you ;-) The waves from the middle of the video on look just like Sandspit in California at the Santa Barbara harbor entrance. All sand bottom with10 to 20 second tube rides and some crazy backwash ejections. Look it up here on YT.
Hey, soul brother, how are u , I leave in New Orleans now no waves in here, and more them 100 lakes please how can I do that this thing will change a lot of people life in here. God bless u.
To all those who are wondering when our first pool will be complete, well It's taking a while because we have been close to contract on a number of complete builds on large commercial complexes, not just building a prototype. However very recently we have re considered the prototype idea, and are working on pricing a lined pool with materials that are still long-lasting. By that I mean not just building plastic but a high grade vinyl that is being used for lined pools very successfully already. Sorry for the lack of reply too!
Good to hear the project is fully alive. Looking forward to hear results, pricing, budgets and possibillities implement in to colder territories like Sweden. Tried the Flow Rider last weekend. Of course fun, but closer to snowskate(boarding) than surfing.. The Sufstream I tried a few years ago is more surfing, but so stressfull with water coming towards your and board, in about 50km/h..
Thanks Ants, well we are hoping to make mechanically perfect waves that provide proper tube rinding potential. Only in the last few days I've been working out a technique for making the "perfect" wave a tiny bit more real by altering the wave height and speed by tiny increments to make them like "perfect" waves in nature. So long as the wave is still makable then these small random changes will make all waves slightly different, and so they'll be more exciting.
hey greg just interested to know about estimated cost of a full size pool as i have a property with plans to create a mx downhill r/c track pump tracks n a wave pool i have the area for a prototype if your interested would it be as easy as dozering a dam with the bank shaped as required with the centre concreted for the planer to run around n lining it with the same rubber they have at the wavegarden. What do you think about asking the mining companies if they would be interested in diversifing there buisines they have the room n also the capitol. We need something with the shark population inreasing i have been a surfer for the last 30 yrs n im not as comfortable as i was 15 yr ago i mean its not going to stop me surfin but i think what you have here is a golden opportunity for surfers to surf in a safe environment if you take the time to read this i wish to thankyou
If you are still at it I am in Vic. Australia and hold the key to a engineering development idea that not only takes advantage of the physics of the fact the river test has the flow of the river to create that sucky dredging powerful slab style barrel that would be 100% variable to being stationary like ya current model or even made negative creating a 5 ft Bells beach spilling low powered mound of a face for learners and also triples the numbers of surfers that could be surfing from a single central axle where anyone wiping out would be removed from causing other surfers to wipe-out of force them to bail to avoid running them over and cutting them with their fins and would put my contribution at 75% the value of functionality but would partner your project at 33.33% provided you can promise you have 100% guarantee design angles and proportionate model to create the perfect slab sucking barrel of massive power so sought after these days an in a solid 10ft+ solid ocean swell at the LEFT in West Australia or AT LEAST 6-8 FT Kirra or Snapper. Cos I could seek out and work with a Professional to create a scale model as i've said i'd hope you'd contribute as without that you just seem to have noticed that wake can make mini waves along river banks! I'm sure you'd work out how to contact me if you want to
thanks mate, can you imagine having the 11 times world champ as your number one rival? with virtually unlimited access to funds? how many surf industry people do you think have approached us in the entire ten years of us working on this project? let alone invested in the company to help develop the technology or run the whole thing? I'm a surfboard maker supported by surfers with some vision and some guts to put their money into something risky but potentially huge.
Can't wait to see this in a big building with at least 4 foot waves. A few people could ride at a time each on their own wave. If one falls though... Get the fuck out of the way fast... lol
Jane Murray thanks Jane, pools about to start construction in Orlando and Gold Coast. Within the next 2 to 3 months and both to be completed by end of year or early 2020.
Looks like Sandspit! Even compared to Kelly's pool the shape you are getting is freaking awesome.
thanks mate, though some seem to think that the KSWC eclipses this wave, odd view when you can see how perfect and hollow these things are. Anyway, need to build the thing to prove it once and for all.

Now make it 6 feet uncrowded.... 3 2 1 go!
true true
haha the greenies would be all over this! Look guys, there goes half of the bank! love it.
Brilliant !!!

The Venus Project city design water belt and you get...

I fell asleep before anything interesting happened.
In reply to Kathrine Dadd, First pool might end up being in South Africa within 12 to 18 months, but just about to sign the MOU for our first pool in Australia, which will be on the Sunshine Coast. It's all about to happen. At last!
Looks like its probably demo-ing the crap out of the shoreline, but man those super smooth almond shaped pits are sweet. Could watch for hours
I can watch that all day
mesmerising isn't it.
you guys should come to pensacola florida and make one of these wave pools. we need some surf...
that drop at the end was hilarious!
would be a dream come true. have you had an opportunity to create a larger working pool?
Incredible
mind surfers heaven
O barrigudinho manda bem. Bom estilo, fluido.
Good luck to you mate. Just going to pick up a fatburner tomorrow :)
That backwash in the tank kills the whole thing, that wave would suck to surf....
good song

the barrel at 5:01 is like a right handed teahupoo scaled down a bunch of feet
pretty sick but uhh "what is this a center for ants" "it has to be at least 3 times bigger than that"
G'day Greg, any chance of a clue to prospective locations for smart park or the compound? Everyone is going to lose their minds when this bottled wave mimics natural perfection. This is going to be a surf destination and all round adventure playground. Fiik Electric Skateboards based on the Gold Coast are amped up and excited to see this takeover
Can't wait Greg. All the best.
These would be great waves for those remote control surfers. Head high and barreling!
So you plan on using a planing hull to create the wake that then turns into a breaking wave on shore? Good idea Greg and good luck!

thats what im talkin bout too dude. i wanna see like a little over head and peaky haaha would be crip
Hi Jim sorry I missed your message. Well any size is possible but we are aiming on 2m for the full size pool apx 200m x 100m
Totally worth the 9 minutes to see the dude take gas on a 6" wave. EPIC.!!!
Make more of these it's so mesmerizing
I was thinking of shooting some more waves with a phantom flex to get inside the tube on some 6" waves in super slow mo. The internal distortions are amazing but need clarity and much slower movement to be fully realised. Your message has prompted me to find one and do exactly that! Thanks
I seriously have watched this like 40 times now
Greg Webber with quality Slo Mo HD so readily available you could now shoot this stuff in a manner that really gives you "more than a feeling"!
@webbersurfboards LOL fun, that's an understatement, that would be epic.
out of curiosity how much energy and how much money would a successful 2 meter wave require?

mini chopes ay probably the most hollow wave ive ever seen haha
it also looks a little like Shipsterns at the one part where it like folds over xD
Epic idea, although my thoughts were what happens when you get exhausted fall then upon getting your board the next sets of waves come rolling you over? gah I just had pipeline flashbacks all over again. What are the dangers of this?
any one watching this 2015?
Get that RC Surfer in there for a good barrel. =)
Wow thats amazing, very cool! :)
Takes forever, and then there is nothing much.
+Deon Van der Westhuizen imagine the potential tho
@Laxr413
I keep hitting reply, not enough sleep! about 1ookw per 2m wave. can't talk money though, costs vary hugely from country to country. thanks for your input!
HOLY CRAP PERFECT TUBE AND BARRLE 6:00
it will get there one day. Once we do one and the pits are there for all to see then it should spread around. We are working on it!!
@Laxr413
If we can make them at 2 real meters it will be somewhere between fun and amazing.
aww the sponger could of kept going keep tryin super cool
Someone has a beer belly, shame on you ;-) The waves from the middle of the video on look just like Sandspit in California at the Santa Barbara harbor entrance. All sand bottom with10 to 20 second tube rides and some crazy backwash ejections. Look it up here on YT.
yeah that would be fun. even at the full scale pools I'm sure people will do it. that'll make the wave 60ft high by scale!
The barrel at 6:19 would be the heaviest wave in history if it was 40 foot
Hey, soul brother, how are u , I leave in New Orleans now no waves in here, and more them 100 lakes please how can I do that this thing will change a lot of people life in here. God bless u.
Hi Matthew, yeah sounds like the idea for sure. and we will be developing a mobile version for lakes as well. Next few years will be big. Greg
It's been a while since this was posted, how long until it's up and running ? in Aus
i thought about doing this int he savannah river like 10 years ago.
wariamba dam is at level 5 water restrictions when there are kids in africa starving
Im hungover and starving
No boogie boarding in the surf zone

Russell Hill Thanks Russ. getting close now!!
Hi greg have a lot of golf courses lined up and the new model looks even better to fit on a hole or two or a practice fairway. Cheers doug

Were gonna need a bigger boat.
430 onwards oh yeah great mind surf, soooooooo pitted ahhhhh
@EvelioSurfboards1
Thanks man!!
6:06 Holy Smokes!
5:52 is gnarly
If only I was GI Joe size.......
Thats amazing!
Thanks Andrew, yes it's going to change things a bit, but we have to make lots of waves for this all to work. Rip-able waves and lots of them.

Whoa 6.08 mad!!!!!!!
That looks like witing in Yamba aye
are you able to hire these prawn trawlers to surf there wake?
Waouh! when the real artificial surfing wave will exist?
imagine that at 5 - 10 foot range!
Got to do more than dream about it. Are there any project sites in development ?
waves, so cool
Where? Donde? Soy de Dunamar
i think 6:07 does also. Why can't this thing be made??? I live in Dubai, maybe I can pitch it to a Sheikh. :)
yesss that would be amazing
ok now make it 10x bigger hahhah
On the Clarence River near Yamba NSW. can't tell you exactly when but it is getting closer!!!
That would be so much fun for skimboarding.
shit...How do these boats make waves like that??
Yup,as soon as slats vid came out this should hv disappeared ....how many pools do ya have??? Ppppffffttttt
thanks mate, can you imagine having the 11 times world champ as your number one rival? with virtually unlimited access to funds? how many surf industry people do you think have approached us in the entire ten years of us working on this project? let alone invested in the company to help develop the technology or run the whole thing? Kelly Slaters company working on identical concept,,will bee done in next ten years
the right is like a mini shipsterns at 5:03
Two years. . .any updates on progress?
6:04 TEAHUPOO ENDING!!!
i like wave!
is this still going to happen, I don't know if it's a good business plan. the good ones Japan went broke as I understand.
amazing
in which country is this in ?
whos paying for the big one?
GREAT.....!!!
When the commercial pool is built then yes indeed.
thats mad
i dont really get this, do u guys just make waves
2019 by now, how this protect goes? Any update? So far China has a wave pool already.
Jane Murray thanks Jane, pools about to start construction in Orlando and Gold Coast. Within the next 2 to 3 months and both to be completed by end of year or early 2020.
can the public ride it?
I can only hope haha
just get a train and a big pool Kelly slater style if your looking for way bigger and better see if you can beat his
Nobody asking about the price? Really?
how much money for the g i joe wawe ? (From Sheik Yerbouti)
Wheee- Doggies!!
More bodyboarding
The picture at the beginning is deceiving
except teahupoo is a left
