- As someone who makes a lot of outdoors adventure videos I wanted to see what the footage would look like on an overcast evening and under clouds. What do you think?

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for the low light experiment! I've watched I don't know HOW many videos people have made with this camera and yours is the fist to show that. Thank you! I do lots of camping and hiking videos for another of my channels and this camera would be a treasure to carry instead of something bigger. From what you've shown, I think this camera and a small little pocket light would take care of my needs quite well. Cheers and thanks once more!
Personally I prefer a larger action camera like a GoPro for my hiking and camping youtube videos. But if you’ll benefit from the tiny size of this one, could suit your needs. As I said in my full review I think this is most suited to short, fun social media videos.
Proper exposure is better than detail and this nailed it. I get mine tomorrow. Very excite!
The mouth shot 😂
I've watched a lot (too many) action camera reviews and comparison videos and most seem to be shot in ideal super sunny or bright locations in 'far off lands' or 10 metres under the Gold Coast or Indian Ocean or skiing down a brightly lit mountain. Good to see practical 'in and out of shade' examples that this camera produces... in our typical north European overcast skies. How did it cope with the transition from shaded trees in to open skies, did the footage burnout too much to be useable? Looks great in a trail runner scenario, being about the same size as a (large) USB drive. Cheers for the overview 🙏🏽
I was impressed by how well it handled the conditions given its size. Not as good as a larger action camera, but impressive for something the size of a thumb
Bloody impressive!
The low light stabelization seemed to help! Always trade offs, sacrifice a little image quality for portability.
Yeah seemed to sharpen it up. Performed better than I was expecting!
Quick note on low light, if you mount it to something like a backpack, it's far more bouncy than handheld shots and it starts to suffer in any kind of moderate light such as overcast days and well lit indoor areas. Also, if you don't shoot in free frame mode (like mentioned in the video) you can't adjust stabilization on the desktop app, and you might not be able to save your video. FYI, mounting it on a hat is very stable if your walking around even in relatively low light. So choose your mounting spot carefully for low light.
1:25 - You really do appreciate contrasting colors! I thought it was only when you’re out hiking (or the narrow selection of colors available from the vendor you get them from). Red and blue, now orange and blue. What combo are we going to get to see next? Maybe brown and pink? (No, don’t do that one).
The audio is all straight out of the Go 3???
If yes, wow. Not half bad!
Yup! Straight from GO3
Amazing little camera. Can you make a test while driving as well? And what are the best settings in different light conditions.
It done better than I expected.
I ordered mine can't wait. Thank you so much for doing this video, the color looked amazing, you sure you didn't add saturation? By the way also wonder if your bright orange shirt helped with the color, because I think the footage looked amazing, really great, wasn't grainy to me at all
Didn't touch the colour, that's what you can get out of the camera. It has several built in styles too which is a nice touch
Would work good as a 2nd camera for those moments you don’t need hands etc 😊 some thing you could clip on and do whatever you are doing 👍Held up pretty well in low light.
yeah did better than I was expecting to be honest!
What settings do you recommend? We have just bought this camera and we are having the same issue with the grainy footage, even during the day it just doesnt seem right. What settings have you figured out works best for you? Thank you
pleas could you share your our settings (ISO , white balance etc.) I got mine two days ago, but the colours have been messing with me. Also have you experienced any scrambled videos since using it? I have experienced quite a number.
Cheers mate, actually is not that bad. I may get it . Good clip
Great review your thmbnail is epic 😅
Think that finally Insta360 got their Go really right
What settings did you use????
Auto
Was there a light on you in your last chat to camera, as you look like a cut out or like you performed in front of a green screen? I am guessing it's none of that and the default on the camera is over-sharpened.
Nope that was just the camera plus the ambient light. Came out brighter than I was expecting
I was gonna say the same thing… it looks like he was in front of a green screen with artificial background… didn’t look natural at all and very strange.
I think the camera is detecting and exposing faces separately
Impressive🎉🎉
Impressive for such a tiny camera
Not bad. Only annoying thing are stabilization artifacts ...
Noice!
Will the Pill shaped camera work without the base nearby? In other words if I just grabbed the pill shaped camera and left the base with the screen at home can I still record on the pill shaped camera?
Yup!
