I don’t have a problem with the price, the packs alone cost most than $80.00. My honest gripe is we didn’t get a normal box. The boxes are what I keep each set in.

Got a archon and crypt ghast in mine with a Japanese foil enduring courage, the mono black valgavoth , 2 valgavoth lairs and the porcelain toy maker room foil. No complaints
$80? I’ve seen it on sale far $115+. $80 is fine. 2 collector boosters is about $50, then 6 play boosters is about $36. You’re saving $6 without even looking at the Nightmare pack. $80 is a decent price imo. Not every pack you buy will have cards worth more than the pack. If you’re buying MTG for a financial investment, you will lose almost every time.
I am absolutely with you. It doesn't feel special any more. Its too much. And though I love playing limited and try to assist at the events that my schedule let me. But the sensación this year is not what it was. Maybe the last real magic set I felt was lord of the rings.
I don't mind $80 on these. I mean 6 play packs would cost about $36 and 2 collector packs would be about $50. And that is $86 in packs. And you still get the nightmare pack, a dye and some posters. So it feels worth it.
One of the many problems with Hasbro and MTG now is they pump out so much product that the average person doesn't have any time to anticipate or get excited about the next set, let alone save up enough money to buy any of it. Hasbro needs actual MTG players working for them, or at least people who understand the community and what we want. Otherwise, corporate greed is going to destroy everything.
I bought one and was fairly happy with it, every new "Gift/Specialty" bundle I preorder on amazon and cancel them after the prerelease if I don't have the money or if the set sort of flops since the bundles don't usually ship for weeks after the set release. Also I don't really play much anymore, I just like collecting random cards from sets, and usually just stick with the prerelease packs. My box had in order or current price High to low: Overlord of the Hauntwoods, Living Death (Promo pack card), Gloomlake Verge (Foil Borderless), Gloomlake Verge (Borderless), Exhume (Promo pack card), Razorkin Needlehead, Razorkin Needlehead (Borderless), Overlord of the Boilerbilges (Foil), Demonic Counsel, Dazzling Theater // Prop Room (Foil), Withering Torment (Foil Showcase), Sheltered by Ghosts, The Rollercrusher Ride (Lurking Evil Variant), and Untimely Malfunction. All cards listed were over $1, and after scanning the whole box, (excluding the playset of foil lands) the Estimated Value is about $113. Again i'm not really in it for the value but to crack packs, but I totally understand how deflating it can be with so many new sets, dozens of variants, fomo and everything else you mentioned. I paid 109 at my lgs not even knowing that at that same moment they were 79 at Barnes and noble. My fault for not doing my research but hot damn that hurt. They are notoriously the best price in town and I didn’t even question it, lessened learned.

I lost big on the two I opened. Only the promos were worth more than $10. I think I made $80 total. Maybe closer to $100 if I factor in all the extras like the land and spin downs.
Opening packs is gambling not an investment. You "lost money" as soon as you bought it. If you're expecting a "return on investment" from gambling thats on you not the product.
Yeah. I think the most valuable cards I got were two of the Verge lands, all of my other rares (and one mythic) and even my "Nightmare promo" carda were less than 2 bucks... Such a let down
I bought two - but in EU for ~120 EUR (with TAX - no tax close to 100 EUR). But one of my Bundle was missing the special booster with "secret" cards... :( Still I open cards worth ~ 200 EUR - so its was good deal. Best card I open was Damnation Foil (special Guest).
I totally agree with your assessment, Joey. Thematically, This is my favorite set, just because I love horror movies. That said though the value is just not there and frankly there’s only a few cards in this set that I think will last the test of time… would like to have seen some serialized cards here and a few more commanders staples… long and short, a couple of years from now I think this set will be remembered as a bust. It feels like WotC owes fans some kind of boost… something that will amp the value for the next few sets because the price of MTG is getting out of hand and ticking off a lot of people.

Your better off getting the normal bundle it’s cheaper the only thing that’s makes the price bad is the 2 collector boosters normal bundles got a die same as them heck they removed the insert box for organizing collectors only get more shiners and a few extra fares with the hope you pull the 80$ cards while almost all of the cards are about a few bucks

i guess I got lucky, I bought five and paid around 389. I got 642 in value, pulled my second textured Valgavoth. Even without that expensive card I still made about $80

I ordered one. Luckily pulled a textured foil Valgavoth, Terror Eater. I'm pretty satisfied. I could understand if you bought like 6 of them at peak of 85-95 but maybe don't treat cardboard like the stock market.
got one just yesterday and yeah very dissapointing stuff, the biggest shame is no box to keep cards in except the little thing thats the equivalent of a pre-release deck box which is a massive dissapointment, in terms of flavor and packs i guess its fine and a decent idea but over all 4/10

I think magic doesn't feel special at moment because of the sheer levels of saturation we're seeing at the moment. Way too many new sets, way too many secret lairs.
I got a guy that I buy from religiously cause he gives me great deals, and I buy in higher volume. Got 6 of these for $55 each and still lost money... dont buy these!!!

You are mixing it up with the normal bundles, where you get the normal box. This is a special product released after the normal bundles.
