I'd apply this most of all to creatives. Aka musicians, writers, artists, thinkers, etc. Ig ppl know more for their ideas than their physical work.

That was him participating in the queen Elisabeth competition. You’re only allowed to participate if you’re under 30. So of course he is younger than most of the people in the orchestra. And besides, age has nothing to do with being a soloist or working as a musician.

I imagine many experienced professional violinists could still struggle with a piece like that.

@@Alex-eb3iv Tchaikovsky violin concerto is a mandatory piece for every violinist that wants to become professional. Back in the day of Tchaikovsky it was considered unplayable. Technical wise today it is actually not that extremely hard, still very challenging. Just to give you an example: if you want to audition for any major orchestra there is a good chance you have to play this piece as one of the mandatory concertos in order to pass. I play in this orchestra and trust me when I tell you that every single violinist there has played this piece. But if you look at interpretation then I agree this is an amazing one. Playing the notes is one thing, but the way he does it here is incredible. Haven’t heard that before.

You kind of have to have that love and passion for it if you want to become a performer, particularly at your level. Tchaikovsky had uncanny sense of the very individual sound character of each instrument as the instrument added to the harmonic texture of his compositions. True Genius left lucky humans who follow him in history, absolutely timeless Masterpieces.
I just had the chance to perform his 4th symphony playing 2nd bassoon and I totally see where you're coming from. Every part I had seemed to totally be the best possible contribution I could make to the sound and the same went for every instrument in the room. He was a brilliant orchestrator, that's for sure. Also the sheer amount of emotion he poured into his works (especially the 4th symphony which was written during a very low point of his life) is near unrivaled. If I had been in the audience of a life performance of it I might have lost it and cried, it's just so beautiful and emotional.

Uhhh, no. Bows do that. They are made of horse hair which is not exactly durable. This happens to me when i play my cello, and i am DEFINITELY not as good as him.
Violin is already a very hard instrument to learn how to play, but this was insane! The amount of dedication put into learning this piece shows through! Nothing like waking up and listening to a beautiful violin in the morning(as I did).
I watched the whole version at 2.30am in bed with a box of tissues. He is AMAZING!! HE MUSTVE Practised that 40hrs a day!! To great perfection. What a GREAT mind Timothy has to complete ALL OF IT!! BRINGS TEARS OF EMOTION WATCHING HIM. 🎶🎶🎶🥀💐💋💚💚🎶🎶
