Who would have thought NY has gold ? That bedrock reminds me of a Dream Mat. I think your odds of catching fish are better. LOL !!! Have a great time back there. Safe travels.....
I live near the Oswego River and my son (23 yrs old) just 'discovered' a stream off the river while fishing from my 14 ft 'bass killer' rowboat (shallow draft) that looks like nobody has been back here in years, not even to fish. Anyway, we were hitting some nice largemouths, 12+ pounds, which proves nobody has been back here in years for anything. We decided to take a break from fishing and explore so we stowed the rods and started slowly going up this stream. About a 1/4 mile in, we came to an almost 90* bend an after taking it, we discovered the stream widened out to about 30 or so yards and shallowed up mid channel to about 2 or 3 feet but, the whole onside bend turned into exposed bedrock, which had to be at least 20 feet wide from the water to dry shore. Cliser inspection showed multiple deep cracks. Dumb question...we had no prospecting gear with us that day. Do you think this area would be worth going back to with gear, cleaning out the well packed cracks and pan testing for gold???

I'm guessing you're around the Buffalo area talking about The Enchanted valley (Zoar) I'm only a few hours away, if I'd known you were going to be that close I'd blessed ya with that vintage metal locator.,.great lesson keep it happening...that frog sounded like. Lila! Lol! ⛏️⚒️⚖️🤠
Hey Jeff, don't know how long u'all being the state, if you're going to be around ya AU ght to check out our own little grand canyon in Ledgeworth State Park just outside of the town of Groveland/Mount Morris, NY about two hours east of Buffalo NY you and Lila would really enjoy yourselves, the geology is awesome....in addition those Shawangunk Mountains I was telling ya about were exactly where one of the glazeral melts happened in history....as most of the finger lake areas were produced...⚒️👍⚖️✌️🤠

Jeff I live in Maine. You ever try for gold up here. Swift river used to be a great place but it’s been pounded for years. So it’s hard to find legal places to pan gold but would love to see what u could get done up here. Great video ty and God bless
Sounds great!
Who would have thought NY has gold ? That bedrock reminds me of a Dream Mat. I think your odds of catching fish are better. LOL !!! Have a great time back there. Safe travels.....
I know...right ....its there but very fine....... yes it does and so many places for Gold to hang out in ... hahhahhahah thanks my brother
Do you think this area would be worth going back to with gear, cleaning out the well packed cracks and pan testing for gold???
definitely
Awesome video Jeff.
thanks
Hi. I love your video's.
Your New York gold videos are near and dear for me. I was crevicing north of one of your hikes that you did in NYS . I found nice pickers crevicing about a 3 ft crevice.
The discoveries of 2 areas were by someone else. It has been since 2006 since I have been there. I have a photo of the 2 vials with a dime for scale. I can provide the location on P.M.
That is awesome! thanks and that would be great ....here is our email;
