The Honours Bachelor Degree of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering has been operating since 1992.The course is accredited by Engineers Ireland and is the only degree course in Aeronautical Engineering in the State. Since the course started the number of students has grown three-fold and our graduates have found exciting and rewarding jobs in Ireland and throughout Europe and beyond. Many have climbed to highly responsible positions making key decisions on the design and operation of the aircraft we fly in. Others have stayed in UL to undertake aerospace research leading to higher degrees.Within Ireland the aerospace sector has experienced steady growth with around 6,000 people employed in over 160 companies. Across Europe the aerospace industry is one of the largest and most strategic industries, directly employing over 375,000 highly skilled staff in over 700 prime contracting companies, with a further 1,000,000 other jobs supported through the supply chain. When our graduates return to visit UL the enthusiasm they show in describing their jobs is second to none.

Anyone looking to become an Aeronautical Engineering all I have to say is, its rewarding. I studied at Western Michigan University, and earned my degree two years ago. All the hard work and determination is worth it, its a high demanding field at in some locations. I joined the USAF first and then went to college, now I'm making $100,000+/year how many college grads get that?

@thagodfather007 I know you posted this a while ago, but if you still don't know I think the lower 10% make about $60k, average salary for aeronautical engineers make about $90k-$96k and upper 10% with education beyond a 4 year degree make six figure salaries depending on certain factors. Very good paying job from what I understand and you get to do a lot of cool things. I persoannly love anything that has to do with aviation.

@UniversityofLimerick 18 hours of lectures and tutorials... son of a... Here in Brussel we have 40 hours a week (1st bachelor year). I have a question though. In ireland can you choose in your 1st year which kind of engineer you want to become? Because here in Belgium we have 2 general years and after that you can choose for like mechanical, chemical, etc.
