  • Hiking the Israel National Trail - Day 2
Mt. Yehoram night camp to Nahal Rahman-Etek night camp. 16.2 miles hiked today.
Me and Di are hiking the Israel National Trail, a 1015km trail that goes straight through the heart of Israel. We are wild camping where we can and we’re heading south to north.
This is a daily Vlog series of our hiking adventure and I’m editing and uploading on the trail as I go along. I only have basic equipment (my phone) so apologies if the audio isn’t great in places. I’m just working with what I have.

The rock strata is beautiful and tells an amazing history. Loved the joy in your face when describing your bath & thought you might take advantage of that 2nd find. Good stuff; enjoying it all. Cheers. W

I was fascinated by the geology of the Negev desert, it was just incredible to be immersed in it all day 😊 glad you enjoyed 👍🏼

I just had a thought Ryan that's like our landscape beneath the grass and bog. Ha ha! Fantastic leg again. Wow, a pool to bath in in the desert. Just the job as was your solar charger. Well, I'm enjoying this biblical scene. Incredible. Mark

That’s very true Mark 😂 underneath the big and grass of the Uk is a beautiful rocky desert. It was very refreshing to find a pool of water on the heat of the day. Glad you’re enjoying the landscapes, they are incredible and definitely the highlight of the Negev desert section of the Israel trail.

@@RyansNextAdventure Yeah, we know that when we try and pitch in some areas and out steaks hit the rock beneath a thin veil of grass. Good to hear of the refreshing pool - see how the landscape unfolds.

I bet that bath was a relief. It gets dusty walking in that desert. I went for a swim in the Red Sea after 48 hours in the desert and it felt incredible. Getting down the rock face looked a bit sketchy, Di seemed to enjoy it though 😂 how did you find the Israelis? I found them all super friendly in and around Eilat. A little more reserved in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. I hope they find peace there and in Palestine ❤

It was always nice to find water and rinse off. There was a lot of scrambling through the desert, some ladders were pretty scary. But it was a lot of fun. I found the Israelis extremely friendly. They were very helpful and I found they were all very proud of there country. There were a lot of younger Israelis hiking the trail that had just come out of the IDF. We heard lots of stories from there time in the IDF. Very sad scenes at the moment. I hope the situation can be negotiated and there can be some sort of peace for the whole region 💚
