one think that bothered me about Tony Vincent's St. Jimmy is that he is a tenor. All of the Green Day songs were written for baritone Billie Joe Armstrong and don't sound right when they aren't belted like a baritone would.

Can't help but think he's channeling Heath Ledger's Joker. Hell, he's better than the original dude during this part.

@Musicormisery21 I have my sister to thank for going back; it was her idea. I can't believe we did it, but not only did we get closer seats (Box left), but Tre came to that show and he was sitting right below us. Got a double show--watching him "air drum" and whistle for his bud.
I love how you can really hear the sarcasm in the song. It's a little harder to hear on the CD. This and Letterbomb are my favorite songs on American Idiot.

i swear to god, if the whole world saw this video, nobody would ever say green day was autotuned ever again. this is REAL vocal tallent, everyone from the musical has it, but not many appreciate it due to the computer-enhanced voices that people are so used to. i LOVE this shit. so much

despite jimmy kinda being the "bad guy" or bad alter ego of johnny you kinda gatta feel bad for him when he sings "jimmy died today..he blew his brains out into the bay..." cuz i mean billie sincerely looks hurt. ah well, thats the beauty of this musical

There's nothing metaphorical about St. Jimmy. He was the leader of the lost and found, the son of rage and love, the spark in the night for the victims, and the people that didn't fit in. The burden of being the jesus of suburbia was too much for him to bear, so he ended it. His story was amazing. We're all fucked up but we're not the same.
@GreendayXroxmyXheart I knew. He announced the Sunday (I think) before that he was going to be playing the part of St. Jimmy for that week's shows only. So, Monday I booked the tickets and Saturday I went! :) lol.
@VegaWahlberg When I had originally posted this, he was only scheduled to play St. Jimmy for one week in October. His additional 50 shows were not announced for another month or two.

@prayerstick I wanted so badly to go back to the evening show! Money was not an issue--gladly would have paid again--totally worth it! But we came up from Maryland via bus, so we had to catch the bus back home. :(

I saw him today and he was...well...AMAZING!! I love Tony too and he's got the voice for it. BUT...Billie has a better look AND is more sinister and creepy. Definitely glad I saw him!! ^_^
