This interview was amazing. It was really nice hearing Frank talk about what he knew and what he did. His answers were also always very humble, so all in all as perfect as it gets. I mean I know it is an interview, but did he really improvise all of his answers? I was impressed at how detailed he could answer questions like "how he felt about getting awarded the ooyama prize"
In fact we did pre-interview this interview. The questions and answer were already decided. I think this format is nicer to listen to and thanks to that we conveyed a lot of information in short time!
Immensely fascinating interview! It was especially (me being somewhat of a history nerd) so nice to hear Frank sensei talk about the meta side of shogi literature too and even mentioning the authors! Also kudos for asking great questions especially relevant to growing the shogi community internationally, I feel very positive after listening to this interview. Thanks for sharing 😊
The japanese just often don't have the international community in mind, which is disappointing. Example: on computer, client side, there is Electron Shogi. But without reading the FAQ, one will hardly find the option to switch it to english. The japanese mostly do not default software to EN language, which would help so much. Tbh it feels like the japanese don't want the international audience.
I'm Japanese programmer and Shogi-fan. I understand your disappointment. There is a huge reason GUI software defaults to Japanese language: most Japanese people just stop using the software when English is shown. Many amateur and professional Shogi players don't understand basic English. Technically, the problem should be solved by proper internationalization which is aware of OS locale. I'll check if there is handy way to achieve this.

Let us keep up the good work.
Great resuts obtained through steady efforts are always most satisfying.
Oh yes :) Let's do our best!

I was hoping we should ask him more in future videos, if you guy would like it... ;)
A very well deserved award for a huge effort over the years! Congratulations to Frank. Thank you Karolina for an amazing interview!
Definitely! Congratulations! And thanks to JSA for rewarding hard work...!

Congratulations for this award! Fully deserved. Frank's speeches is something that I love during the ESC/WOSC and I could listen to him for hours.
Definitely! He is very eloquent! As expected from a professor I guess...!
Great interview, Dr Roevekamp is a very compelling speaker even though I hardly play shogi.
Definitely, that's what I am always amazed about when talking with him! And he speaks at least three languages too!
Really looking for the teased "more english content" 🤞
Maybe I should be back...
