Alot of info to absorb but quite-fascinating. I love Dickens but am very-interested in Thackeray now as well. On his 2nd-tour of the U.S., Thackeray visited my hometown of Augusta, Ga. For many years, a state historical-marker stood at the site of his 2-day set of lectures, a building on the main downtown-street. I believe he was invited by the local library-association. A few years ago, the historical-marker was removed as it was deemed politically-incorrect. A quotation was excerpted from a letter Thackeray sent back-home to England, commenting as to how contented the slaves appeared-to-be, an institution that was in no-way onerous. I've been trying to gather more details on Thackeray's Augusta-visit, i.e., where he stayed overnight, how he arrived(stagecoach, train, steamboat, etc.). I think he came here after lecturing in Savannah. Thanks again for a great video!
Wonderful to hear the church bells tolling in the background. The quiet streets are also allowing us to hear the birdsong.
It is blithe
I am bewildered by the fact that you don't have at least 50 times the number of subscribers as you have right now to your channel!!!

Wonderful talk, well done, Tally-Ho. And soon it's on to poesy.

Is this part of a bike tour? Great fun
Yes
Wonderful presentation. According to English Heritage, Thackeray died at 2 Palace Green which is now the Israeli Embassy. Keen to see more from you.
This is wonderful. I have to ask about the "Irish accent" though?
Clean the wax out of year ears and you will hear my accent better

Interesting. Dickens l believe envied his privileged position in society.
I knew it not
The talk was engaging but the camera swaying made me feel rather queasy. I might gave been on a boat in a storm.
sorry
Have you read Charles Dickens on his paddle steamer trip to America? The sea was so rough, giddy was too moderate to describe it!
better to listen than to watch: it gives headache. Sorry
I am glad you liked it
Were you er..swayed?
