I was looking for some tips on finding macro tips, not especially for starcraft2. but thank you alot for this video and I hope in the future your channel will grow. Did you ever played battle for middle earth 2?
well thanks for the vid, I respect the effort. I think most people actually know this basic cycle though.. the hard thing is the actual execution and how to bring yourself to doing it while being distracted. In a real game you need to know the exact timing of the first 4 or so depots, then you go to building one depot at a time constantly, then 2 depots at a time constantly.. you also need to not overmake depots if there is a fight and your supply is cut in half.. when exactly do I queue 1 scv at a time, when do I queue 2 or more?? these timings and decision making are the hard part. if you just mule constantly you die to cloaked units etc... the second difficulty for me is the mechanical ability.. yes, so very basic but how to actually press the buttons effectively =how to hotkey etc. In a video like this you also could go into these tings :)
Sc2 macro is like guitar hero, ninja fruit or any other sensory-motor rhythmic game. There is a tempo, a timing, for when things need to be done. If sc2 was more advance, you would music and everytime you hit a timing for macro, you get a bonus point or music sound. These bonus cycle are in my head, because I know the timing very well after 50-100 games against Ai on the same build. Its like a musical instrument, you have to play your song sheet precisely and effortlessly-practice makes perfect.
I have some questions. How do you group select a type of building? For example, I want to select all barracks at the same time. Is this the same way as grouping units? (Ctrl + 1, 2, etc.) How do you cycle through buildings (of the same type or different types). For example, I want to cycle through all the barrack to build different units. I am a noob. Appreciate your help!
You can hotkey all of your buildings the same as your units, so say you want your command centres on 1 you select them all and press ctrl+1, to add another one onto that you can shift+1 to add that one onto the hotkey. You dont need to cycle through your barracks, just press the hotkey of the unit you want to produce and it will start production or be in queue. To cycle between say a factory and barracks you press tab. All of this information can be found under options, hotkeys
@@durrrhurrrderpderpderp9932 So for example, if I assign all barracks as "1", when I press 1, I will select all of them at once. If I want to produce Marine, I press "M" and all barracks will produce that unit or place in queue depending on previous process or resource available. What if I want to produce some Firebats together with the Marine? If I cannot cycle through the barracks, it means I have to do it manually by clicking one barrack at a time as normal, right? You said I can cycle between a factory and barracks by pressing tab. So the correct sequence is: Ctrl + 1 barracks => Click on a factory => Shift + 1 => Press 1 to choose the group (I guess Barrack will be the higher priority) => Press "Tab" to switch to Factory. Is this correct? Are these the same as StarCraft 2, Warcraft 3??? Till this day I still do not know how the pro players can produce (manage) so many things at the same time, or to be more precise, how to hotkey or cycle through buildings because there are too many of them, and they are not in the same place, not to mention that they have to control their units in combats. How the hell do they keep the flow of the production? Please help to explain more in detail. Thank you so much!
