So Apink is a girl group that debuted way back in 2011. So yes, they're a 2nd gen group and will be celebrating their 10th anniv next year ^^ They debuted with 7 members, but one member left in 2013 to pursue studies. In the same year they had a comeback with NoNoNo, only having 6 members. So Apink has two "trinity" (as we fans call it). Basically 3 consecutive songs from Apink that we consider top tier or really hit big in S.K. Apink's 1st trinity: NoNoNo (2013), Mr. Chu (2014), and LUV (2014) NoNoNo is actually Apink's breakthrough song. This was the song that made them well known. APink debuted in 2011 so right on the turning point of 2nd gen/3rd gen. They're one of the oldest Kpop girl groups who's still pretty active as a group, they still drop comebacks about once a year. They did start with 7 members but one left pretty early on in their career. Hush and MyMy were released when they were a 7 member group. APink really blew up with "NoNoNo" and kept with that sound for quite awhile. I'd say the iconic songs of APink would be "LUV" and "Mr Chu". LUV still hold the record for the most Korean music show wins for a single girl group song (17 wins). I will say, their recent music does have a more mature sound and look to them, though it still keeps the overall APink refreshing elegance that they're known for.
Ooh and if you want to see Eunji hitting high notes impressively live while still being a rookie,there's Apink's performance in Golden Disc Awards singing their debut song..There's a surprise at the end. Literally took my breath away. And Also I love Bomi and Namjoo's(the one you liked her voice in the first song) voices soo much and I can't choose between those two my second favorite vocalist in the group haha they're both too good with beautiful voices.
Just an FYI that their last 3 comebacks since I’m so sick have had a more mature flair that has attracted a lot of new fans. The member you liked from Hush is Namjoo, who recently made her solo debut with Bird (composed and written by Soyeon of (G)I-DLE). The voice you liked in My My is Naeun. She doesn't have any solo releases but she does do a lot of acting. The "sing, girl!" member with the massive smile is Eunji. Her voice has matured a lot and deepened (low note appreciation!) in the years since and she is now one of if not _the_ most technically skilled vocalists in kpop -- 5 octaves as of this year and yes, she sounds exactly the same live. Idk if you got my entirely excessive email about her solo work but it's definitely worth checking out. Being There would be my recommended starting point, though AWay is more recent if that matters to you. If you instead just want some live vocals to analyze, her cover stage of Beyoncé's Love On Top is a favorite.
It would be interesting if you could react to eunji's vocals, she is an INSANE vocalist, one of the best in the kpop industry if i would say. As a new-ish kpop fan (2016-2017), meaning I don't know first generation girl groups, I'd say Eunji is arguably one of the best female vocalists in the kpop scene. Others like Solji are up there, too, of course. Also, she's on another level but the other members are pretty capable vocalists themselves. I suggest checking out their live performance of Five on the youtube channel Dingo. Raw vocals, all good and fun.

Honestly the way these girls has changed/matured the last 3 comebacks is absolutely amazing!!! Like I'm so sick was what got my attention on Apink and now they have become one of my favorite 2 gen girl groups along Sistar and EXID! Definitely recommend their latest 3 songs, also I also like Mr. Chu which is one of their older cutesy songs 😁

Hush and MyMy are Apink songs on their early year were they have 7 member,but Yookyung left to continue her study abroad but Apink still have contact with her,And NoNoNo were their first song as 6 members! It's very refreshing seeing you react to 2nd gen kpop groups through your Throwback Thursday episodes(me being a kpop fan who started off with 1st gen kpop groups and all haha)! Apink was actually known for being the forever "fairies" of their era. Even though most of them were already in their mid 20s, they still stuck to having these cutesy concepts, and cutesy with a mix of something else as well(but the cutesy thing is still there haha). Though their most recent comebacks have now taken a more "mature" route, the "cuteness" is still there. They were a 7 member girl group. A member left the group, because she wanted to pursue her studies, so you'll that their most recent ones will then have 6 members only.

Jung Eunji is the one who's hitting the high notes in the last song! She is considered one of the top vocalists in South Korea. I'd love for you to react to her live performances especially you need to hear her performance in Healing Camp program singing the song: 'shout to myself' by maya,this performance breaks my heart,it's one of her favorite songs when she was a trainee it helped her thru her bad times. Eunji is one of the most powerful main vocal in the industry , I'll suggest "Something","I'll be yours" and "Female President" of Girl's Day , their main vocal Minah (and Sojin) is also one of the strongest vocalist of the same generation as Apink's :P

ha, as others have pointed out, they've evolved over the years and are quite likely one of the longest running girl groups that are still together. i'm kind of in the same boat as kudgeon, in that i haven't particularly followed the group as a whole just because their typical earlier style isn't really my thing, but i do also agree with you that it's impossible to feel down while listening to pretty much any of their pre "i'm so sick" work that i have heard also, their fandom name is one of the best things ever. yay pink pandas! i kind of see similarities in the route they've been taking and the route gfriend has been doing, a sort of reinventing themselves while also still managing to keep aspects of their old selves. not always easy, doesn't always go over well, but it's hard not to have to do something like that when you start with the whole 'cutesie' thing like both groups, and plenty of others, had to (slightly related to this in a way, i'd def suggest the group pink fantasy for a future thursday. they don't have nearly as much music out as quite a few of these other groups do, but what they do have is already quite varied) others also pointed out about 'mamapink', the fact solar and one of the apink members, naeun, will be in a show together soon (alongside comedienne park narae, who also is in several things with hwasa), and a bit of the chorong/bomi and solar/moonbyul stuff... each of those two pairs are virtually always together, one of each pair runs a yt channel (bomi of apink, solar of mamamoo. but you knew the latter) and they did have a mukbang together, each youtuber posting it on their own channel. the two groups are supposed to be friends but they're all so shy it's hard to get them out of their shells and hang out together (quite common in kpop. i'm sure you know a lot of entertainers are quite introverted but it seems to kind of be extreme with many korean entertainers). there's actually a pretty fun set of videos where apink and mamamoo went up against each other in a music show but only three members of apink were there. when they won, they had mamamoo stay onstage and celebrate with them... chaos ensued since mamamoo was just mamamoo, but it's always great seeing groups befriend and encourage each other like that. some of the footage is also behind the scenes stuff, i believe including footage on mamamoo tv where the apink girls were going on about how loud and chaotic mmm were

Girl can definitely hit them high notes live, and with pretty much ease even. I think she's one of the best kpop girl group vocalists together with Taeyeon and Luna. Her live singing is soo good. Check out her "A Pink Jung Eun Ji - I Love You I Do Singing Clip" cover or her "If I leave" cover she's amazing! She's a powervocal but she also has a really interesting voice that doesn't stand out in Apink's songs but you can hear it in her live singing and in covers. I think you'll really like it.
Apink is still active and producing hits on a regular basis. The Apink members are cool (as is their fandom, Pink Panda) but I don't listen to them much since they mostly do cutesy, girly concepts and that's not my thing. I really like Jung Eunji as a soloist, the one whose voice you don't like but were impressed by her range. I wish Eunji did more r&b because she's got range and depth and a lot more colors in her voice than the high clear soprano Apink songs usually call for. I suspect there's more versatility in the other members too. As someone else mentioned, Apink and Mamamoo are friends and together they're called Mamapink. Eunji has uploaded several casual covers of Mamamoo and imo she's one of the few singers who doesn't sound foolish doing it.

Fyi Apink was the first kpop group with cute concept that get love from all over the country.. They even got "nation's fairy" title.. I personally found a lot similarities on Apink, Gfriend, and Dreamcatcher. Except for Apink is the bright version, Gfriend is the sad-nostalgic version and Dreamcatcher is the dark version.

You should watch their stuff chronologically, their growth is really nice to watch. Their new stuff is amazing and very mature while still being feline. The short haired member you liked in the 1st song is namjoo. She just released her first solo song not that long ago and it's really great. Their main vocalist Eunji- the belter- is considered one of the strongest female vocalist in K-pop. She's released some beautiful ballads.

Apink's 2nd trinity: I'm So Sick (2018), Eung Eung (2019), Duhmdurum (2020)
I'm So Sick was the song that shook the whole fandom, because after 7 years, Apink finally did a complete 180 degree switch in their concept. The Apink sound was still there, but it's much heavier and mature. Most fans love how Apink took their time to gradually change their music style, and I'm So Sick was really well received.
Eung Eung followed the trend of I'm So Sick, but much better. Many got surprised that Apink was able to top I'm So Sick, and they're in their 8th year already at this time. Usually, groups mostly last til their 7th year, so Apink breaking that curse was already surprising enough. It's rare to see an old girl group still being active and being able to release such good music. Anyway, Eung Eung ranked 2nd in billboard's top 25 kpop songs from 2019. ^^
Dumhdurum was released April of this year. They were the first idol group to hit number 1 on charts for this year, and it's more significant esp for the fans since the last Apink song that had an all-kill in music charts was Remember, which was from 2015. They also had a music show all-kill, basically winning all music shows for a week. Apink proved once again that age doesn't matter and that they can still be active along with the newer generation of idols. ^^

APink debuted in 2011 so right on the turning point of 2nd gen/3rd gen. They're one of the oldest Kpop girl groups who's still pretty active as a group, they still drop comebacks about once a year. They did start with 7 members but one left pretty early on in their career. Hush and MyMy were released when they were a 7 member group. APink really blew up with "NoNoNo" and kept with that sound for quite awhile. I'd say the iconic songs of APink would be "LUV" and "Mr Chu". LUV still hold the record for the most Korean music show wins for a single girl group song (17 wins). I will say, their recent music does have a more mature sound and look to them, though it still keeps the overall APink refreshing elegance that they're known for.
Ooh and if you want to see Eunji hitting high notes impressively live while still being a rookie,there's Apink's performance in Golden Disc Awards singing their debut song..There's a surprise at the end. Literally took my breath away.
And Also I love Bomi and Namjoo's(the one you liked her voice in the first song) voices soo much and I can't choose between those two my second favorite vocalist in the group haha they're both too good with beautiful voices.
Just an FYI that their last 3 comebacks since I’m so sick have had a more mature flair that has attracted a lot of new fans. You could react to those three on a Wednesday as they are still going strong. And by the same token old CLC would fit as a throwback Thursday since it’s more like this older APink :)
The member you liked from Hush is Namjoo, who recently made her solo debut with Bird (composed and written by Soyeon of (G)I-DLE). The voice you liked in My My is Naeun. She doesn't have any solo releases but she does do a lot of acting. The "sing, girl!" member with the massive smile is Eunji. Her voice has matured a lot and deepened (low note appreciation!) in the years since and she is now one of if not _the_ most technically skilled vocalists in kpop -- 5 octaves as of this year and yes, she sounds exactly the same live. Idk if you got my entirely excessive email about her solo work but it's definitely worth checking out. Being There would be my recommended starting point, though AWay is more recent if that matters to you. If you instead just want some live vocals to analyze, her cover stage of Beyoncé's Love On Top is a favorite.
It would be interesting if you could react to eunji's vocals, she is an INSANE vocalist, one of the best in the kpop industry if i would say. Some of the covers I'd recommend are her Into the Unknown and Red Velvet's Psycho covers. Or basically any live song she does or any of her solo songs! Her most recent is called AWay. All of the girls are vocalists who really improved through time, with 3 of them (eunji, namjoo - the one you liked in hush, and hayoung) having debuted solo now. I love them!

As a new-ish kpop fan (2016-2017), meaning I don't know first generation girl groups, I'd say Eunji is arguably one of the best female vocalists in the kpop scene. Others like Solji are up there, too, of course.
Also, she's on another level but the other members are pretty capable vocalists themselves. I suggest checking out their live performance of Five on the youtube channel Dingo. Raw vocals, all good and fun.
OMG yes Austin you have to react to their main vocal, Eunji. She's one of the greatest singer, in par with SNSD's Taeyeon imo. One of my favorite is her cover of Into the Unknown, she sang live and it's 3 keys higher than the original wtf TALENT TALENT

It's very refreshing seeing you react to 2nd gen kpop groups through your Throwback Thursday episodes(me being a kpop fan who started off with 1st gen kpop groups and all haha)!
Apink was actually known for being the forever "fairies" of their era. Even though most of them were already in their mid 20s, they still stuck to having these cutesy concepts, and cutesy with a mix of something else as well(but the cutesy thing is still there haha). Though their most recent comebacks have now taken a more "mature" route, the "cuteness" is still there.
They were a 7 member girl group. A member left the group, because she wanted to pursue her studies, so you'll that their most recent ones will then have 6 members only.
The one who hit all the high note is Jeong Eunji. She's only train 2 month B4 debut as Apink Main Vocal.

Eunji is one of the most powerful main vocal in the industry , I'll suggest "Something","I'll be yours" and "Female President" of Girl's Day , their main vocal Minah (and Sojin) is also one of the strongest vocalist of the same generation as Apink's :P

ha, as others have pointed out, they've evolved over the years and are quite likely one of the longest running girl groups that are still together. i'm kind of in the same boat as kudgeon, in that i haven't particularly followed the group as a whole just because their typical earlier style isn't really my thing, but i do also agree with you that it's impossible to feel down while listening to pretty much any of their pre "i'm so sick" work that i have heard
also, their fandom name is one of the best things ever. yay pink pandas!
i kind of see similarities in the route they've been taking and the route gfriend has been doing, a sort of reinventing themselves while also still managing to keep aspects of their old selves. not always easy, doesn't always go over well, but it's hard not to have to do something like that when you start with the whole 'cutesie' thing like both groups, and plenty of others, had to
(slightly related to this in a way, i'd def suggest the group pink fantasy for a future thursday. they don't have nearly as much music out as quite a few of these other groups do, but what they do have is already quite varied)
others also pointed out about 'mamapink', the fact solar and one of the apink members, naeun, will be in a show together soon (alongside comedienne park narae, who also is in several things with hwasa), and a bit of the chorong/bomi and solar/moonbyul stuff... each of those two pairs are virtually always together, one of each pair runs a yt channel (bomi of apink, solar of mamamoo. but you knew the latter) and they did have a mukbang together, each youtuber posting it on their own channel. the two groups are supposed to be friends but they're all so shy it's hard to get them out of their shells and hang out together (quite common in kpop. i'm sure you know a lot of entertainers are quite introverted but it seems to kind of be extreme with many korean entertainers).
there's actually a pretty fun set of videos where apink and mamamoo went up against each other in a music show but only three members of apink were there. when they won, they had mamamoo stay onstage and celebrate with them... chaos ensued since mamamoo was just mamamoo, but it's always great seeing groups befriend and encourage each other like that. some of the footage is also behind the scenes stuff, i believe including footage on mamamoo tv where the apink girls were going on about how loud and chaotic mmm were

Girl can definitely hit them high notes live, and with pretty much ease even. I think she's one of the best kpop girl group vocalists together with Taeyeon and Luna. Her live singing is soo good.
Check out her "A Pink Jung Eun Ji - I Love You I Do Singing Clip" cover or her "If I leave" cover she's amazing! She's a powervocal but she also has a really interesting voice that doesn't stand out in Apink's songs but you can hear it in her live singing and in covers. I think you'll really like it.
Apink is still active and producing hits on a regular basis. The Apink members are cool (as is their fandom, Pink Panda) but I don't listen to them much since they mostly do cutesy, girly concepts and that's not my thing. I really like Jung Eunji as a soloist, the one whose voice you don't like but were impressed by her range. I wish Eunji did more r&b because she's got range and depth and a lot more colors in her voice than the high clear soprano Apink songs usually call for. I suspect there's more versatility in the other members too.
As someone else mentioned, Apink and Mamamoo are friends and together they're called Mamapink. Eunji has uploaded several casual covers of Mamamoo and imo she's one of the few singers who doesn't sound foolish doing it.

I personally found a lot similarities on Apink, Gfriend, and Dreamcatcher. Except for Apink is the bright version, Gfriend is the sad-nostalgic version and Dreamcatcher is the dark version.

For my money, "LUV" is the best Apink song. I think it also holds the record for the most wins for a girl group on music shows. It is a sadder song and more mature - "womanly" rather than "girly."

There were originally 7 members but one left early on in their career. Of the 3 MVs you watched, No, No, No is the most recent. You should watch their stuff chronologically, their growth is really nice to watch. Their new stuff is amazing and very mature while still being feline. The short haired member you liked in the 1st song is namjoo. She just released her first solo song not that long ago and it's really great.
Their main vocalist Eunji- the belter- is considered one of the strongest female vocalist in K-pop. She's released some beautiful ballads.

My My was produced in 2011, Hush was in 2012, and No No No was in 2013. Yookyung (who sang in English in My My) left in 2012.
