It is just many players have a different mentality in 2023 versus players in previous eras. John Stockton and Karl Malone both played all 82 regular season games for over 10 NBA seasons. I know Michael Jordan played all 82 regular season games too for multiple seasons, and arenas would sell out just to see Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls play the local team. Back in the 90s, the NBA season started around Halloween versus now it is mid October.
I remember the Blazers didn’t do any load management back in the strike shorten season back in 1999. The Blazers used a ten man rotation from what I remember and they still managed to win the Pacific Division title that year. Rasheed would have to play four games in five nights or play games three nights in a row. Sheed practiced what he preached in this video.

      I like this take.
There's no reason a star can't come in and play 5-10 minutes and stay healthy. It's probably better longterm they do that anyway. All that being said, Blazers have one of the worst injury histories of any franchise, so if anyone whittle be worried about injuries it's Portland.

Pat Riley did load management on some of those Lakers teams in the late 80s with Magic and Kareem. Pat Riley just waited till the end of the season to protect some of players for a deep playoff run. San Antonio was the first team to start the whole load management as a way to give their older players like Tim Duncan or Manu Ginobili a break during the regular season.

Michael Jordan played all 82 games in his first season with the Wizards (similar age as Lebron is now) and 8 seasons in Chicago he played every game. Lebron is the king of load management. He’s literally only played one single full season his entire NBA career. In 20! Plus years lol King of load management. It’s crazy in 20 plus years only one full season played.

nah jordan is the king with his 2 retirements.

but if they did that sheed Bron fake inflated won't hold up his ppg etc will drop so he decided I just won't play I'll drink on the bench.... pop started it for teams Bron single handedly started it for players sitting down shades bling and tequila im tiered then everybody else took it from there... they don't make um like they used too this the Bron era we don't compete we team up go to other teams to make super teams always need more help always wants the easy way and load management that's his stamp on the league that's the Bron era
