Dekho UGC net ki tayari kar rahe ho agar to I suggest nptel pe British history ke lectures dekho... Aur use yaad kr lo.... Fir previous year question papers dekho topic wise... Wahan se aapko kuch naye writers milenge... Fir unke notes banao... Aise thoda sa targeted tayaari ho jaayegi...
Aur book ki baat Karo to meri personal favourite Routledge hai... So you can go through that...

Any source / book for cultural studies and criticism?
Not really. Go through Previous years. See what questions they've asked and just make notes on those questions from whichever book.
Then you can through any 4-5 central universities' syllabi and know those writers and you'll see some writers repeating. Do those.
All the books that people recommend are good. See you comfort.
