    I really dislike how for example coinbase despite being a literal crypto exchange. Requires you to always have number backup not even just for personal information like you can do on say discord and not have it 2FA. But as far as I can tell there is no option to disable it as a backup despite having a multitude of other secure options. I think coinbase may still require both your number, password (but maybe not password) and an email link you're sent to recovery. But it's still crazy regardless that an exchange that is so high risk of sim swaps would force this upon you while say even discord doesn't. It also easily allows enumeration of people who use coinbase via only their phone number.
    Apple is also the same. If you want to even add secure 2FA methods you have to add and keep an sms 2FA attached.
    Hopefully other secure options push signal to remove the phone number requirement entirely. I know it reduces spam though.

      i cant order NOTHING that dosent allow paypal GUEST checkout if it makes me make acc they just LOOSE THE SALE from me becuase i have VOICE ONLY phone and when do have text number i WILL loose the number its a BIG security concern but they FORCE IT, vendors there ARE alternatives to paypal that DONT force that crap!

    should you? NO! use regular 2fa, the question is CAN YOU>??!?!??! NO! most BIG monoploys FORCE IT cant may paypal without text num,ber cant make google without text number, whichs is probbaly BY DESIGN!
