Folded arms and a heat vision accessory would have made this release phenomenal!
Also, needs a smiling face.
The definitive superman!
My definitive Superman figure, can't wait now for the Black suit and inevitable TDKR version, just wish we had a smiling and freeze breath face but I get why we didn't.
It's a good figure.
Soon to be my final Superman figure
Can't wait for mine to arrive.
They most iconic super hero technically
Drop the bottom half of the figure in hot water for 30 seconds and it will fix the tight hip joints.. I know we shouldn't have to at $90 blah blah but this simple method will fix the problem. Sadly, the plastic mafex uses is prone to tightening up due to paint and temp application so a bit of heating in warm water helps a great deal.
my favorite Superman on my shelf.
good job Mafex! thx DD19!
Mine too has the cape longer on the right side. But yes this Superman is my go to Superman now!! FINALLY!
He’s gonna look great next to my Batman figure
This is a great companion piece to any Figuarts Goku in a display.
Great figure, just hate the price tag.
I feel like the price tag should be $40-60 for these MAFEX figs tops.
@@grayman1 Agreed. It's a great figure but unfortunately for what I paid for it, it's a bit underwhelming.
Can't wait for Mafex The Flash comic accurate action figure.😀
Worth noting... There is a bit of extra plastic left over under the chest piece that will scrape/scratch on the torso unless you take it off.
How do you take it off?
@@Grindsz Pop the chest and ab piece apart at the ball joint and use an exacto knife/file or dremel. I did mine with an sharp knife off a Swiss Army SwissCard. It's pretty easy to remove. It's a bit of flack plastic left over from the mold. It's probably not on all figures, but there have been many reports.
I really want a comic based Mafex flash
$125 at Ageless Geeks?? Yikes! I wish he would have came with heat vision effects and crossed/ folded arms like the DBZ Vegetas/ Piccolo.
The Vtoys Figure Zero body would make an excellent Superman base. No toe articulation though.
Just wish me luck if I'm going toy-hunting for this particular Superman figure.
Looks more like that actor in good fellas
This figure looks incredible ! I can't wait to get my Mezco Christopher Reeves Superman and pair these two together to see who will be my definitive Superman for my Justice League. 😍
Btw I absolutely agree, WHY ON EARTH WERE WE NOT GIVEN A GODDAMN LASER EYE EFFECT but Cyclops from X-men always does?! Had this Superman come with a laser vision effect and perhaps a trademark Superman genuine smile headsculpt, it would have been a 20/10. Great review as always though DD19.
Can't wait for mine. Big bad Preorder.....which means I won't see it for another year 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Definitely a good figure I’ll probably pick it up my self
Man DD19's lips were moving faster than a speeding bullet in that intro
I like it I really like your channel bro 😀😀
When i saw the promo images, I thought those green peices are kryptonite effects. 😂
lol that’s what I originally thought too
I cant believe theres a $70+ dollar difference between mafex and mcfarlanes superman. Mafex wont be getting my business. Laughably overpriced.
Mc farlanes Superman has single jointed elbows, gun hands, huge head, and skinny body with weird torso articulation. Do not over hype Mc farlane and his weak releases. He makes some good figures but by no means is he making definitive dc figures, especially when his articulation is lacking alongside proportions. He is improving but some mafex are worth it as long as you buy one that is known for not having qc issues. This mafex has a small head and looks pretty mediocre to me but you buy what you get, paint is decent, has accessories and great articulation. While with Mc farlane some of those qualities will most likely be lacking because of his poor judgement
@@cybernerdcreations4475 on top of McFarlane still stubbornly choosing 7” scale when all he does with the extra inch is add an unneeded extra half inch in the torso/lower legs.
This is still probably gonna be the best 6” Superman we have for a long time, even though it is still overpriced. I have the McFarlane Supes already so I’m just gonna repaint him a little to stand-in as a Kingdom Come Superman and keep this guy as my main one.
I bet you think the neca Godzilla figures are better than the sh monsterarts ones because they’re cheaper rather than higher in quality
@@dylan-uy3pb i bet you paid no attention to my comment. I never said mcfarlanes was better. I compared price my guy.
@@cybernerdcreations4475 yea the mcfarlane one was not good. But with just a couple tweaks that figure had potential. I didnt hype it at all. This figure is just about $100 shipped. That is blasphemous in my eyes. For superman himself the paint, proportions, sculpt, accessories are as vanilla and basic as it gets for any figure. That is not what your paying for if you look at just about any other figure lines. That mafex superman is overpriced by at least $35 in my opinion.
Would of appreciated a smirking/smiling face....
A little too anime-styled to me, and we really need a more neutral face. I still like it, but I like the NECA Superman figure better (I really like the eye lazer fx)
If ur talking about the Superman vs alien one I’m sorry but I’m gonna have to disagree, looks like an over cooked microwave burrito. This Superman is closer to Jim Lee’s art style and it looks very nice in hand but to each their own
Not sure if your aware but the neck peg on yours is facing the wrong way..the bend on it should be facing backwards so he can look up further..mine was the same and I've just seen D.amazing turn the peg on his as well...my mafex cyclops was also fitted the wrong way..!!!
Amazing figure! Now we need a Mafex Wonder Woman! Even though she wasn't on the story, they could use her New 52 outfit which Jim lee designed. So it would fit the art style.
I think his head sculpt looks more like Sessue Hayakawa
Dude love your reviews!!! However I also liked the other angle that your had your camera set up before in the oldest reviews. You could see the figures better and the height comparison was more noticeable, plus i just love to see Goku and dead pool figures at the end. You had a great format and the information was delivered quick and as always you are entertaining as hell. Just liked how you used to put the whole set up together. This camera set up however cut the figures view and it seems off. My apologies if I’m overstepping my boundaries. 😒
Great Figure mine is just shipped from AmiAmi. By any chance where did you get the Diorama you used for this review?
I got it from Lawless studios
@@DareDevil19 Thank you man ill definitely check them out. You have an awesome day
It is cool figure.!!!!!
You might wanna consider picking up a mini heat gun for those tight joints.
cape would be great if vthey didnt screw the "s" logo up
First!
A bendy wire on the bottom of the cape actually hinders the movement imo. On a cape that is
I'll buy that hand from you
Well sometimes Batman is taller or sometimes Superman is taller and other times they are the same height
It does look like Mathew perry but overall looks great
Could be this Superman more dope?
With Mayfex it's a hit and miss with the paint Job. With Other Reviews the paint job is not good. That is why i don't preorder Mayfex. I have to see it in person in order for me to buy it.
I feel you on that.. Its annoying ordering a figure from then and hoping it has really decent paint apps.
Decent looking comic based Superman but a bit overrated (just like the Hush Batman) imo as that muted yellowish color on the chest & belt looks too washed/faded, the head appears undersized for the rest of the body, the forehead hair S curl is backwards, the logo on the back of cape is missing a couple triangles & the accessories are just "meh" (a/k/a underwhelming) imo. The biceps/arm area engineering also looks to be the same as Mafex Wolverine (which easily detached/fell apart on certain copies) so uncertain if comparable issues exist related thereto. Thanks for the detail review.
He is too small to me. I think the black suit Batman is far better then hush because of the fixed cape issue. I still believe we haven’t gotten a definitive Superman figure but that’s just me.
@@cybernerdcreations4475 You mean the Black cape/cowl Hush is better than the Blue cape/cowl Hush Batman? I agree. Yeah, this Superman is a bit disappointing imo.
Definitely not overrated. Name a better Superman in this scale in the past 30 years? You can knit pick it to death but doesn’t change the fact this is a beautiful Superman figure. It’s also the best articulated as well. That combines with an awesome stoic face and great posable cape clearly makes the the best Superman figure ever made. Definitely not overrated and most Superman fans will agree.
@@TheToyOdyssey You're reasoning only makes sense if there was a baseline of "quality" 1:12 scale comic based Superman figures previously issued before this one, which isn't applicable. Name one decent 1:12 scale comic based Superman issue by a reputable Japanese Mfg. prior to this one that you're comparing it to - in your 30 years assessment. I agree with you that this one's the best 1:12 scale comic based Superman issued to-date but just that doesn't make it great if none of the previous comparable issues were any good. It's decent and it's worth the Mafex MSRP but it's not great like it could (and should) have been (for the reasons noted in my original message) so a bit disappointing imo, but opinions vary.....
great figure but like always they will find mistakes even tho there making these figures I don't get it 🤦
