    -- INTRODUCTION --
Enjoying the quiet summer months, we travelled across Japan to Miyakonojo and the Kirishima sankei region to visit one of the last wooden weapon workshop of Japan: “Aramaki Budogu Mokojo”.
The founder, master Aramaki the first, began manufacturing Bokken about a century ago, in 1921.
Like his grandfather and father, the grandson of the founder, Master Aramaki Yasuo, 66 years old, still perpetuates the tradition.

Thank you Master Aramaki for such wooden pieces of art. Personally I can't think in any other Bokuto been better than yours. My own Sunuke was and still is beyond experience, I do Iaido. In nearby future Im planning to buy my second Sunuke Bokuto from you of course, and that will be just for collection, it will not be used, it will endure. Greetings from México!!...

    Brilliant documentary !
Once you leave Japan and try to find good equipment to train with, you realize how few actually take their production this seriously.
It is so disgusting to see how willing so many are to sell their garbage for a profit, while taking no pride nor responsibility in what the produce.

Well, the vast majority of equipment sold abroad is mass produced in China, but there are a few very good craftsmen outside Japan. You should give them a try, some very good stuff there as well.
