the preset on serum is set to legato which means it will slide if one note overlaps another, every plugin should have a legato option

Just take the bars of already laid out midi notes and/or audio sounds and just duplicate those like however many times fits you, then arrange them to play immediately one after the other, in other words the chopped up bars should be connected BUT separate from the main chorus bars.
